You balked from the situation out of fear until things got out of hand, what kind of reasoning is that? Continue to kill yourself with fake appearances when your heart is in turmoil. What was your wife's reaction? She felt fulfilled? Don't worry, she will do it again. By the next argument, she will threaten to slap your mum if she tries any rubbish and will actually do it for even less significant quarrels. Our social norms have become so eroded and men have become vegetative in reasoning out of the zeal for a type of love that will never come. We really should learn how to detach logical reasoning from emotional sentiments. I believe the lessons we will learn in this generation will reset our males to the reasoning of our old men we've long lost. |

This matter is really simple, she's earning a lot now and feels equal to the husband. @tomi4life this is what I will do Sit her down and renegotiate the terms of the marriage. Tell her since she has financial power and independence and believes no husband can control her again, you want to renegotiate terms. If the food you buy outside is delicious and affordable, make it your new diet. She wants sex once a week, let her have it but... Finance will be renegotiated now. You will both contribute equally for the rent, utilities, children from now on. There are reasons. She doesn't hate you, she only feels she can do without you now. You don't have to force it, she can change for a short time but she will always revert to her usual self so don't stress. If you know the number of husbands who are sexually deprived in their homes, you will shake. To avoid konji killing you, get a (one) side chic. No commitments please, be clear about your intentions and keep your identity and family issues as anonymous as possible. Always use protection. That's your gateway to peace in terms of sexual satisfaction. Whatever funds you can save from your renegotiation, save it up for your own future. These women do not give a hoot about men anymore. They only want you to work hard and pass all your properties to their children when you die. These ain't good times. |
DesChyko:Its a 'chinkofied' chevrolet avalanche. |
Many economists in NGOs like ONE, Bill and Melinda Gates foundation, Technoserve and co earn upwards of 2m monthly. |

...and the idiot still posted it online He must be really stupid. He must be arrested for defamation of personality and disclosure of private information |
About the driver, it's either he escaped, sold the vehicle and disappeared. He could also be complicit in the whole event. Some of them use black magic to be impervious to gunshots On another hand. He could have been killed and the Hilux is now used as a Field Operational Vehicle for the terrorists. Lesson: Always take a better option when you can. Take flight and run. |
AfahaAbia:..and what point are you trying to pass exactly? If they want a toddler staying with them in their old age, they can have one. It is better optional than mandatory. Would you rather have late teenagers still in universities with retired parents trying to scrounge up tuition fees from their pension and gratuity savings? ...and if you lead a high-quality life, living begins at 50 - 60. The golden age where you are free of societal obligations like having to work your ass out every week or raising children. You're done with all that and sitting on your pot of gold with your established businesses, savings or investments. You should have saved enough to live off the interest alone for the rest of your days, learn new things, exercise, visit new places, occasional visits to your children, buy the car you always loved, spend time chilling with friends reminiscing the earlier years over cold bottles of beer. Not to keep worrying about raising no kids, paying rent or calculating further maths on the little money you have left to meet your doctor appointments. Every mallam to his own kettle. |
Tayoalaaye75:You can utilize your Russian skills by working as a translator or teacher online or offline. Also try to connect with airline technicians on Linkedin. Many jobs in this sector are usually not advertised on mainstream media but I know Nigerian graduates working in this industry in Nigeria. Another option is to sign up with the Nigerian airforce. You won't be a fighter pilot but can work in the maintenance department. Have you tried your hands at drones? FIxing, improving and flying drones. You can build on your technical background in this growing niche by bingeing on Youtube videos. While these options may not give you big pays in the long run, you can use them to gather funds to get out of the country again. You can look for Masters scholarships in your field. Your travel history can give you some advantage but now that Ukraine is at war, that is quite dicey. Even Nigerian students displaced from Ukraine due to the war to other European countries have been given an ultimatum to find another course of study or return to their country. Forget about those blaming you for getting married. You won't put your life on pause because your finances aren't looking up. A good wife brings good fortune and the ability to work together by pooling resources. I wonder if everyone becomes millionaires before they marry when a majority of 30 year olds in the country are still struggling financially. When they still have children to raise in their 70s they will be complaining. All the best bro. |

Its not about the performance or fuel economy, its the emotional attachment I built with the car while I owned it. I've owned much better cars but my time with this one remains golden. The Ups and downs just sum up a beautiful experience. It was a 1996 BMW 318i and it was the first car I ever owned. Back in Uni Ibadan, I had some bad influence family friends with who I used to roll . Two brothers and they used to bring different rides to school back then. 1st gen Range Rovers, accords and BMWs. They had these cars at home and their dad just left the cars in the compound. He was too old to drive so you can take any car if you want, you just have to gas it and use it as is. The Range Rovers were gas guzzlers so that was taken on only special occasions , the e36 was a bit okay but had its gremlins. It didn't reverse so whenever we took it out, we always had to park on a slope. Other than that, the sound system was badt and the thrill of a rear wheel drive was exhilarating. We used to balst tracks, speed around corners and pick up the girls coming from class (and branch at our hall of residence and use it as a hangout spot in dark areas close to the girls' hostels on fridays. iYKYK. I got this special love for BMWs ever since and I always knew my cars will be BMW models right from the 80s models and ending with the Chris bangle era. Fresh out of school and duly hired, I made up my mind to get a car and as I passed this used BMW 318i by the side of the road, I got down from the taxi and walked back to the stand. It belonged to an army officer who bought another car already. Inline 4 silver coat with tinted windows. Just my type. I snapped it up. AC didn't work though. No bad. The thing about these small engine cars is they pick up revs fast unlike the i6 engines but they don't do so well for top speed. They were also good on fuel. Every day was a blast, I couldn't wait to drive to work or to close and go home every weekday. Weekends, I threw all my dirty clothes in the trunk and hit the road from Ibadan to Ijebu for the weekend. (God bless momma ) There were times I'll be chatting with my girlfriend then and I'll just say 'oh, I want to see you now'; by 11pm I'd jump into the car and drive from Ire akari estate to Sagbe past Ojoo and return same night for work tomorrow. Car didn't disappoint. Always blasting my gbedu non-stop. I was the sole driver and washer of that car for the time I owned it. Of course it's not all sunny days, there were some bad times too. possibly share in another thread. As all good things come to an end, my mum gave the car away when I travelled. All in all, it feels good to feel nostalgic once in a while. I miss the good times but not the car though. I'm sure it'll be freaking old by now if not in parts already. My thoughts link up to the old 180Ks, Toyota crowns, 505s and W114s our old men used to put on stones when they can't drive again. Will you keep your true car love forever? |
udede:It's a money pit. You did not specify which year but Range Rovers are quite common, except for the fact that it is for the rich. They are not reliable and quite costly to maintain. Rich people buy cars that won't give a dent in their pockets, you should always be financially wise. Why will you buy a liability that further drains the little money you struggled to save just because you want to impress? Cut your coat accordingly or you will bite your fingers. My uncle had a 2008 Range Rover he went to service in Abuja, on his return trip to Kd he didn't realize the mech forgot to totally shut the oil sump under the engine. Engine went 'kakara' on high speed and shut down. #1.5m to replace the engine. Vehicle gathered dust well before he sold for scrap value. A word is enough. |
psalmson001:7 series wagon. My confusion is confused |
Raphael007:Continue what made you the #4m. If its a salary job; get some additional training, if its a private business; expand. If you have done the above along your 6 months emergency savings set aside, you can try investing in stocks of solid companies or just save your leftover money in Gold. |
Nazgul:After paying bride price and committing to her for eternity? You must be joking with these your textbook suggestions. For how long will he be begging and doing pre-intimacy and sh*t when sometimes he just wants a quickie before sleeping or to cure his morning wood. It's annoying many wives use sex as a bargaining chip, depriving their husbands simply because they're not sexually active or to use it as tools of manipulation. The Op better put her in her place asap or like someone suggested, some things are better done and not said. |
These look more like upstairs/balcony pictures. |
Firstcitizen:All effizy...but dealers wrap their cars and seats to avoid stains or scratches in transit. |
Who borrow am?😆 If you get a 2004 Maybach for $50,000 sef you're lucky. He's flaunting a late 2020 in Nigeria (customs clearance cost included) and you think he bought it. Social media doesn't give that kind of money please. He should show us his group of companies, warehouses and thousands of staff and not wads of cash. |
Yktv:Yeah no problems, I'll follow up with people on ground as well who may not be on Nairaland. If you get any links as well, please mention me. Thanks |
Mrnuelzz:Hi, have you moved to lyon? I'll be coming in later on in the year and I'd like to connect with Nigerians over there ahead of time. Is there a whatsapp group or anyway I can get across to you? |
FREEMADNESS:So what will you say about the Anglican church in England blessing same sex marriage. Which is worse? |
The one and only Slk back in the day. One of the first metallic hard top convertibles. The short coming of this car is that measly engine Mercedes threw into it. I'll still pick the SC430 anyday. |
