PoliticsRe: FG To NLC: Return To Negotiation Table by lakeside69: 8:16am On May 19, 2016
This APC govt rode on the overwhelming popular backing to get to where they are today, and if there was anything that broke the Jonathan's govt, it was the poor handling of the 2012 strike. I urge this govt to be deft and plain in its discussions with labour. They should not use the divided house of the NLC to go on the advantage.
In as much as i dont support d strike over the fuel pump increase, i support a strike on the increasing hardship Nigerians are made to go thru flowing from no light for days, no fuel, bad roads everywhere, daily loss of jobs, an almost comatose economy and the constant rise in inflation with a almost bad naira.
Strike over these problems make sense. But let govt and NLC return to the negotiating table and give Nigerians and Nigeria a direction!
God bless Nigeria!!!

CORRUPTION IS FIGHTING BACK!

A lawyer of Ebun's repute are easily noticed among d packs. Those who have corrupted the judges and justices with all sorts of financial inducements and have marred justice and sold justice at the alter of deceit. The same people who call the Judiciary the last hope of the common man had rephrased it to the baggage of the highest bidder.

Why wont the so called SAN fight, they have soiled the justice temple and desecrate it, now a new cherrif is saying 'enough of the rubbish'. The judiciary should not only be seen to be giving justice but equity, now they say the cherif is dictatorial. We have heard how justice have been sold for billions of naira and judgement twisted even up to the supreme court, what can we do, thats what they say?

Now God is speaking, the time of reckoning is here. The likes od Ebun should join the wailing wailers and hug a transforner.
RomanceRe: I Caught My Friend's Girlfriend With Another Man: To Tell Or Not To Tell by lakeside69: 6:45pm On Mar 22, 2016
I once had a similar experience. I had this lovely girl once upon a time and our relationship was talk of the street. My friends and everyone knows us. We are always together as much as we can, even when hanging out with my friends. One lovely friday, all my friends and our girlfriends decided to hang out and at about 11pm, as mummy boy, i have to go home. So, i told her lets go home. Saw her off till she entered d house and i went home. Saturday morning at about noon, one of my close pals came to my house and said, guy, i saw ur girl at the club i went last night with another guy. I made sure she saw me at d club to be sure she was d one i saw, but before i could think of something, she had left the place. At first, i went deaf and dumb. It really hit me so hard. I ask myself several questions, this was a girl everyone loved, adored and respected. Worst is, i have this crazy set of guys, who are ready to mock u at any time. To cut the story short, i confronted her, she initially denied she ever went to a club, had to call my friend to confront her. I knew d truth as soon as my friend told me, even though i loved this girl to pieces then. But it remoulded my thoughts of her and i knew when and how the relationship was going to end. We did not broke up becos of that but i had the opportunity to know who she was aside our regular seeing. I owe it to my friend for that great help.

As much as i empathise with you, it is advisable that no matter the policy u are undertaking, pls go thru a reputable Insurance Broker. They will not take a kobo from you for their services, they will ensure you get the best competitive rating and ensure you get adequate indemnification in the event of a pay back. I will advise you, rather than use telephone calls, do physical visit to their office and meet their Branch Manager who shall ensure your claim is attended to. A follow up letter to the discussion with the responsible matter will do you a whole lot of good. Wish u all the best.
InvestmentRe: One-stop Insurance Services For You by lakeside69: 10:08am On Mar 05, 2016
Weldone. Are u an Agent or a Broker? You sounded more like a Broker when u introduced yourself as an organisation who can deal with all aspects of insurance but limiting d transaction to just an underwriting firm, brings it down to an Agent. But an Agent is not a thorough professional even though he can be by professional exams but not by the Insurance Act by categorisation.

The light situation since the people rejected the hike had been terrible. The performance of this govt and its funtionaries will be adjudged not by the amount of energy desipated in fighting corruption but by the meaning impact of its policies on the population to which light, fuel, road and the economy guages first.

PoliticsRe: Babatunde Raji Fashola Trends On Twitter Worldwide by lakeside69: 2:30pm On Oct 14, 2015
The Fashola I know, BRF, the Governor Fashola we know, has put up his consistent best. He has always been a fantastic person. When Asiwaja had him as his Chief of Staff, he was amazed as to his intellect and deep understanding of issues ranging from law to basic issues. When Jagaban was leaving, in the depth of his heart, he knew handing over to Fashola would be to Lagos interest despite the hoardes of political champions that surrounded Tinubu at the time. He did not make a mistake. Lagos benefited to a large extent of this brilliant man. He was the face of the political selling of the APC. Now a Minister. Nigeria has so much to benefit. But Fashola has a flaw, a defining weakness, he is elitist. He has not heart for mundane and plural facets. But Nigeria needs people like him for now. I predicted before, and saying it again, one day, in no distant time, FASHOLA SHALL BE NIGERIA'S PRESIDENT.

Another brilliant mind just gave us another brilliant show, Ibe Kachikwu.

PoliticsPresident Jonathan Awards Multi-million Dollars Contracts To "Ghost Firms" by lakeside69(op): 7:45pm On May 08, 2015
Jonathan okays huge NPA contracts for ghost firms
May 7, 2015
Written by Oluwakemi Dauda, Maritime Correspondent

Two companies have won multi-million dollars Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) contracts, The Nation has learnt.

But there are questions over the towage contracts. Some of the issues are:

•are these companies genuine?

•was due process followed in awarding the contracts? and

•who are the people behind the companies?

The award of the contracts to Messrs CTOW Terminal & Marine Services and Ibejige Services Limited, allegedly after President Goodluck Jonathan’s instruction, is causing concern among port regulators and operators.

Sources close to the Federal Ministry of Transport (FMOT) in Abuja said the award of the contracts by NPA to the two firms did not follow due process. It was also learnt that the companies are not registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

The contracts were meant for the provision of Third Party Towage Services (TPTS) at Warri and Onne ports pilotage districts.

The deals were approved by the President, according to sources, without proper investigation about the status of the companies.

The President’s approval, investigations revealed, was contained in an August 11, last year letter to the NPA through the Federal Ministry of Transport on August 14, 2014 – in three days (a record, said a source, considering the bureaucracy that slows down normal transactions.

The four firms approved for the contracts at Rivers, Calabar, Onne and Warri ports are: Messrs Slowater Nigeria Ltd, Port Harcourt, Messrs Global Spectrum Energy Services Ltd, Messrs Cyow Terminal & Marine Services, Have 1025-Scheldedijk, Belgium and Messrs Ibejige Services Ltd, which is said to be at Lekki Peninsula Scheme I.

The letters of award of contracts to the four companies were signed by the NPA General Manager, Procurement, T.S Izokun, an engineer, on behalf of its Managing Director, Habib Abdullahi.

The firms, it was learnt, won the contracts after the payment of N100,000 registration fee and $20, 000 licence fees to the NPA.

But, the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), actingon a request made by The Nation, said it had no records of two of the four firms.

The Nation also discovered yesterday that Messrs Ibejige Services Ltd, which claimed to be on plot 16, Block 128B, New Creation Street, Lekki Peninsula Scheme 1, has no physical presence in the area.

The address does not exist at Lekki Peninsula Scheme 1. But there is New Creation Street, off Remi Olowude Way, which is buried inside another location opposite Lekki Peninsula Scheme 1.

Plot 16, Block 128B, which the promoters of the company claimed to be its address does not seem to exist.

There are only 10 buildings and two empty plots on the street.

The only visible company on the street is on Plot 1, Block 128B, opposite New Creation Cathedral. Security officials and others on the street said Messrs Ibejige Services Ltd was not there.

The sacked NPA Managing Director announced in March, last year, during the introduction of the Electronic Ship Entry in Lagos that the authority would partner the private sector for provision of towage services at the Port Harcourt, Onne, Warri and Calabar ports.

The discovery that two of the four companies were unregistered, it was learnt, stunned senior officials of the ministry, who questioned how the companies were pre-qualified for the projects.

One of the ministry’s senior officials, who craved anonymity, said the award of the contracts to the two unregistered companies was against national interest.

The official said: “Was the Bureau of Public Enterprise (BPE) involved before the President gave his approval and the contract was awarded by NPA? What was the role of the supervising minister in this regard? Answers to these questions are very essential because if I am approving a contract to any company and my minister and the officials of the agency cannot verify for me whether the company is registered; then I don’t know what they are doing as the head of that organisation.

“If the President, who awarded the contract did not know, the Managing Director of NPA ought to seek confirmation from CAC and his head of legal department.

“With the award of this contract, the President, his minister and the sacked managing director of NPA have created a wrong impression before the in-coming administration that many other unregistered companies got multimillion dollar contracts under the out-going administration to siphon public fund.”

Also yesterday, The Nation learnt that the unregistered companies belong to “a powerful woman”, who is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). She is said to have the ears of the Presidency.

The source alleged that “the ghost contract companies did not have certificates of incorporation or tax receipts. Neither were they registered with the ministry”.

Another official, who spoke with The Nation under the condition of anonymity, said the methods adopted in awarding the contract were alarming.

He noted that the towage service, which was the core function of NPA after ports were concessioned, was awarded by its management after receiving presidential approval without verifying the companies to which these contracts were awarded.

The official urged the in-coming Gen. Muhammadu Buhari led-administration to investigate the method adopted in awarding the contracts by the management of NPA and the services so far rendered by the companies that won the contracts.

PoliticsRe: APC'S Pains Will Be Pdp's Gain After Elections. -tunde Bakare by lakeside69: 2:45pm On Mar 23, 2015
Pastor Tunde Bakare initially said he is the Elijah of our time, who said in the bible that there shall not be rain or dew for three & half years. He Bakare said after the postponement that no election shall hold in Nigeria unless he says so. Yesterday when he had seen all the signs that the elections will hold, he came out to deliver a Seminar Sermon saying the pains of the APC shall be the gain of the PDP. I remember when he said General Olusegun Obasanjo was not the messiah that Nigeria was waiting for and that he may not be sworn in on 1999 after the PDP and Obasanjo had won the elections.

I am not surprised by this vituperation of the political pastor, and the like of Ayo Oritsejafor, who ordinarily by their calling should lead the preaching for the emancipation of the wrecked Nigerian state by preaching for the revival of souls and good deeds by the political leaders. Rather, because of their taste for acute wealth and power, they turned the blind eye to the evil deeds of their political benefactors whom they have fed from either directly or indirectly and spew garbage from the pulpit to sound like it is a message from the Almighty.

Like King Saul, God has spoken, THE THRONE HAD BEEN TAKEN and given to the little boy who used a stone to kill Goliath. Nigeria needs a firm and resolute leader who shall call a spade what it is.

U are right but had lived in PH for 20yrs now. Flying this tribal card and religious plane will not help this nation and grow the unity we have always yearn for. It is my view, that this particular regime has flown the minority card and Niger Delta agenda than any regime. I agree that Nigeria must grow ALL parts of its region without leaving one out. South East must be developed. South West must be developed. South South must be developed same also is the North and every other part.

What Nigeria need is a leader who is far above religion, tribe, primodial sentiments etc. Let our leader be a father to all and a leader for all.

Nigeria is so rich blessed and filled with abundant human and material resource. What we lacked all this years is a leader, a selfless leader. change is what we need now.
PoliticsRe: Any Southern Nigerian Voting A P C Needs To Be Examined by lakeside69: 9:13am On Dec 19, 2014
And this OP thinks that this should be a subject-matter because someone said so? I live in PH, Rumuolumeni for that matter. It is APC all the way. I want a change. I want a leader who is in charge, not a political leader. A leader that guarantees the national security of lives and property not only in the Niger Delta States but in Nigeria as a whole. A leader who steadfast and willing to stay on the side of the people rather than take sides with political thieves and looters of the national treasury who patronises them. I want a firm and strong President and Governor who is not a noise maker because he is desperate to get into the government house but has a blue print to take Rivers from Oil to a non oil performing state. Who has a fatherly heart and not all who are against me must leave the State.

So, it is APC for me!

@OP, the line of history and all that happened btw the first citizens and Sylva will be a read book for political history students. I wish to add that the Bayelsa Elders led by HRM A.J. Turner and others insisted on Dickson and he was earlier paired with Dr. W. Dudafa as his Deputy Governor then until experience and security issues led the believe that there was need to drop Dudafa and bring on Rtd. Cmmd. J. Jonah. Since Dickson came in, became an authority to himself. He became a demi god, all that was leveled against Sylva became his hallmark. I am being owed several millions for jobs legitimately done to the Bayelsa State Government, we were labeled Sylva jobs hence would not be paid. Despite helping in all we can to support a new administration, because I was of the believe that Bayelsa needed reformation. Now it is his turn, he refuses to work with anyone except those who are of his extract.

He should please pay me my money before he leaves, government is a continuum, he has verified and discussed. he should approve and let our businesses not collapse because of politics.

PoliticsRe: What Manner Of An Opposition Party Is APC? by lakeside69: 11:45am On Sep 02, 2014
It is obvious the OP is on the payroll of the ruling party or the Op only claims to know what Democratic practices are existence in the countries he quoted without deep knowledge. The APC has done fairly well as an opposition party in Nigeria and some of the States under their control have equally done fairly well in developmental strides. The only problem with Nigeria is Nigerians. There is a permutation by the politicians which is working effectively to divide Nigerians according to Tribes, Regions and Religion. This is self destruct and even on Naira land it is well playing out. Let govts be judged by overall performance and personality and not because he is from my tribe, state or religion.

Some people's brain are so warped and deluded that mere acknowledgement to great work being done by govt. are turned to the side. Fashola, wether we like it or not is doing a great job and his economic policies and developmental strides should be commended. We should not be apolitical to every issue and critical where commendation is required. Lagos is a sub-sect of Nigeria, therefore Nigeria's economic outlook is equally positive.

I make bold to say that why most people find it difficult to get their claim paid early or even get it paid at all, is the inability of persons who takes or intend to take a policy of insurance to be informed of how insurance work. I strongly advise, pls never walk straight to an Insurance Coy without AN INSURANCE BROKER. It sounds like this, try go to court without a lawyer, u will find out that though u can approach a court for justice without a lawyer and get good judgement but u will get a better judgement with a lawyer if u do.

So is d case of insurance. A broker will make a best of judgement of d good underwriter. In insurance, their is what we call capacity under a reinsurance treaty. Every insurance coy wants to carry as much risk as it can even over their capacity, that is where d case of delay in claims settlement do arise.

I will like to say here as it is practise particularly in d UK, and this is a joint arrangement in d Nigerian Insurance market, no matter ur prefferred choice of Underwriter, pls go thru a registered insurance broker, it gives u peace even up to d point of a claim.

boladez: Insurance companies do pay claims and you need to get a broker to explain all the fine print to you.

However IGI does not pay claims and they are like a large ministry. The company is messed up when it comes to paying claims. The place is run like a family business. I have fought them to a standstill in the past

In the event of an accident;

Thank God for your life
get the car to the garage and do not attempt to effect repairs without taking pictures
Report in writing to the insurance company or the agent
Take pictures including the plate number of the vehicle and ensure dent or breakage is clear.
Fill the insurance claims form and submit to the insurance coy ensure you get an acknoledgement copy
if they do not send the engineers to inspect the car in 3 to 4 days write them and tell them you will commence repairs in the light of their apathy
After the inspection, let them negotiate directly with your garage
They will give you a go ahead to commence repairs
Hopefull you will get paid within one month
