If he was not good enough to be your vice president in 2023 why should he be good to be president on 2027? These people will say anything to get votes. Vote #Obidatti2023

Yeah, their Q3 earnings were really bad hence the free fall. I would say cut your losses and move on because it will properly not get that high any time soon.

I decided to count Yok's posts for the last 5 pages. 7 posts on page 338, 8 posts on page 337, 13 on page 336, 14 on page 335, and 15 on page 334. If you go through the pages you would observe he sometimes spams the thread with 8 posts in a row before someone else posts something. It's safe to assume the reason no one comments against your posts is because everyone has left this thread for you and the few here just do not have the energy to ask you to stop.
I was thinking about the same thing. This thread has been spammed by YOK. I recall when I first joined this thread last year. We talked about our individual experiences on buying and selling stocks. I actually started trading US stocks as a result of conversations from this thread. I returned here after some time off and honestly do not find this thread interesting anymore. YOK, if you could please stop posting those messages so people can post their individual experiences, it will more helpful. Thank you.

Do you have any reference as regards the taxman frowning against trading in your TFSA account?

https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/individuals/topics/tax-free-savings-account/open-a-tfsa.html

This indicates you can buy and sell. Its called self-directed TFSA
It is called day trading. See below

Sold my Netfllix this morning after reaching their 52 week high @$440. I bought it on Monday @$383.
We are making gradual progress. i want to do a mix of long term stocks (e.g. Apple and Canadian big 6 banks) and short term stocks (e.g. Tesla, Netflix).
I cant do alot of trading in my tax free account not to incur the wrath of the taxman.
Maybe Ill open another account that's taxable just for day to day trading.

If it's for long term meaning you won't think of selling till say December or more then yes but if you are looking for quick plus 10% profit then no.

They are currently 16% off from their highest point pre Corona virus. When the economy gets better after Corona virus, they will recoup that 16% and surge more

With apple there is a sense of security of your stock, even if it goes minus 10% today, it can go bounce back almost in the same week.

Thanks. I see it's less volatile than Tesla.

Interesting story for me. I have been observing Tesla shares for a while. When it went down to 450 a second time, I quickly put funds together to buy unfortunately, it went up 560, before my trading account willl get credited. It takes 5 business days to get funds credited.
I couldn't therefore buy the planned quantity. I was waiting for it to go down again until last Friday when it closed at 573. I still didn't buy until Monday when I finally went in at 598. Biting my self hard now but glad I bought yesterday as it is now around $735.

Congrats on your purchases.
Of particular mention is your will to read the entire tread.
You will make an avid investor.
Stick to your strategy/plan and watch you succeed.
Tesla is a growth stock.
It also has investors appetite.
You may consider buying in tranches to achieve a reasonable average unit cost.
Mid to long term, you will enjoy a boom in the share price.

Thank you for your encouraging words. I watched Tesla fall to $450 some weeks back and was biting my fingers because I was kept on waitlist for some weeks due to high volume and could not trade. Glad that it's here again. It's such a volatile stock that it can determine the overall shape of one's portfolio. It's going to be a fun ride with this one.

Our beloved stock Zoom Video (ZM) is getting trashed. NY attorney general is investigating the company for some privacy issues. With the recent surge in new customers, the company is struggling to keep up with providing support and people are waiting on long queues before getting help. They went from 10 million daily active users in January to 200 million DAU. Moreover, this used to be a professional video conferencing platform used by schools and businesses but now teens are using the 60day free trial to have virtual cocktail parties and what not. I was lucky to get out at $146 for a profit. But right now the stock is trading at $115. If it drops to $110 I will be a buyer. I don't think much will come out of the investigation by the NY AG and having too much customers is a good problem to have. They are currently hiring more support staff, they should still come out ahead.
This is one stock on my radar. I'll just observe from a distance first before I jump in.

ETFs are boring but they tend to beat active traders in the long run. Even though I know this fact, there's just something addictive and interesting about actually buying and selling individual stocks. It forces you to read about companies and learn about products and services. I don't know what your situation is, but always max out tax advantage retirement accounts first before trading stocks, at least that's my philosophy.

Tesla is like a cult stock, it's very volatile but they the company makes the best electric cars. You can dabble with a few shares, I'm currently down 43% but I'm still holding.
Thanks. I use my retirement savings plan for the ETF but have now switched my Tax Free Savings plan (TFSA) for trading which means I will not be taxed for every gain I make in this account however the tax authorities frowns against day to day trading and can slam you with hefty taxes of they realise you are actively trading.
My strategy is really long term and I'm even motivated to buy Tesla seeing they were at over $900 in Feb and you even went in at over $800, that means the price now is at a huge bargain.

Hi everyone, I read through all the pages here and developed keen interest in trading US and Canadian stocks. I live in Canada but haven't bothered to trade myself since I use roboadvisors to purchase ETFs. I have now bought a few stocks and I'm monitoring others.
Thanks for all your contributions in this thread. Meanwhile I'm thinking of buying a few Tesla shares. What do you guys think?

Let's even say the car is real. How's buying a car an achievement? The things we value in this country amaze me. This is the only country that people just show up with something and you can't trace what they do or how they made money to get it. We need a societal reorientation. Buying a car is not an achievement. How many lives have you impacted positively?

Always very reactive and looking for how to extract money from citizens at all costs. They should have a system in place to track which buildings have permits or not. I'm also thinking what measure are in place for staff of the department that issue wrong (unauthorised permits)?
Visiting construction sites to harass people is a very crude way of ensuring compliance.

Sports / Amr Fahmy, Ex-sg Of CAF, Dies At 36 by Lalaska(m): 6:01pm On Feb 24, 2020
Amr Fahmy, former secretary general of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), has died after a protracted illness.

Fahmy’s death was announced on Sunday by the confederation on its official Twitter handle. He died at the age of 36.
“We would like to express our deepest condolences on the passing of former CAF General Secretary Amr Famy who passed away on Sunday, 23 February 2020, in Cairo, Egypt, after a short illness,” said a statement issued by CAF statement.

“It is with great deal of sadness and emotions that we received the shock news.

“On behalf of CAF, we extend our deepest condolences to his family especially his parents, his spouse and daughter.

“Our thoughts are with you at this difficult moment, and may God have mercy on his soul.”

Amr was not the first member of his family to serve in the CAF. Mourad Fahmy, his grandfather, and Moustafa Fahmy, his father, also served as general secretaries from 1961 to 1982 and from 1982 to 2010 respectively.

Fahmy was appointed as CAF’s secretary general in November 2017, replacing Moroccan Hicham El Amrani.

He spent barely two years in office before he was sacked after he accused Ahmad Ahmad, president of CAF, of bribery and misuse of funds.

Mouad Hajji of Morocco would later replace him as the secretary general of CAF.

You see these people don dey craze. What is the purpose of that commission? When Oronsanye report recommended reducing the number MDAs, these ones want to create more. Just looking of how to squander the already scarce resources. There is already NE development commission which we dont dont know what they've achieved with all the funds provided to them.

Where will all these RELIGION and TRIBAL shenanigans lead us to in this nation?!

The same way some were complaining that Jona's government was filled with Christians and Southerners.

Where has this led us to as a nation since 1960?
Did Jona as the President provided something so basic as WATER to all the Local government in Bayelsa for 6 years he was the Numero Uno?
(The state with the fewest LG in Nigeria!)
Or did OBJ construct Lagos to Ibadan Expressway in 8 years despite coming from the West?

Anyways........

We have learnt not to bother ourselves anymore to avoid unnecessary arguements with nonentities
As some of us have said, it's good governance we want, even if only one village will be producing the Presidents or those that will make our darling nation move forward.
So be it..

Ka Chineke mezie okwu

So is this good governance or is this nation moving forward? Call a spade what it is pls

Jamb registrar and former vice chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Professor Is-haq (unfortunately coincidental) Oloyede is a professor of Islamic studies and is not as comical, cynical, bigoted and jejune as this man.

Even though oloyede is and is still the secretary general of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, he has a good sense of discipline and professionalism and that's why he's going places without people raising an eye on his papers.

MURIC (a good initiative) all thanks to this man has lost all iota of respect and seriousness in the face of Nigerians.

Thanks for this. I always thought he was the same person as the JAMB person.

Wonder how & why Raymond Dokpesi isn't in jail yet. Bought N7,000 (mumsy added 3k to top my 4k savings) shares @ N5 per share in 2007, was just leaving sec school. I only received certificate in 2008, 13 years gone, not a kobo paid as dividends.

I think Dokpesi just used the NSE as a means to an end to salvage his dying business. I'm going to attend their next AGM, I'll arrange boys from Oshodi & Isale Eko, they'll beat him up & scatter the place, i must collect my 7k.
