the older you are, the more difficult it is to stop. if you are above 20 years, veeeerryyyy difficult. secondly, the angrier you often get, the more difficult to stop. watch your anger levels and control the urge to make a point at all cost in a conversation. when you must speak, think and mumble the words you want to say very slowly. ironically, its easier for an introvert to stop stammering than an extrovert.! lets start from there. |

I think its high time the state enacts stiffer measures against rape, devoid of the option of fine or bail with long jail terms. People must start speaking out instead of being subdued by this hypoctitical mask of stigma and reputation. Justice must be done; not just for the innocent girl, but for the society in discouraging others from committing such wicked crime. |

iamrealdeji: Who told you your parents were virgins before marriage? Don't let them deceive you o,den bad that time too o,by the time you're a man and have your family too,i'm pretty sure you would tell your children the same for them not to be wayward like you. As for abstaining, you can't abstain forever. You'll marry some day and how can you be sure your spouse is not cheating on you and she could bring home STD to you if you don't use condom. Folk. Condom is very important. I hope you don't abstain through out your bachelorhood and marry a green snake that acts saint meanwhile she is going somewhere to bring home all sorts of stds YOU ARE FUNNY!! ABSTINENCE (emotional control when & where necessary) IS DIFFERENT FROM CELIBACY!! |

abbey621: I don't think an addiction to cigarette counts as stupidity, an addiction is a mental defect and has nothing to do with intellect. Based on your example, we might as well say doctors who are fat are stupid because they should know the consequences of obesity. I'm not debating the positive effects of having a good moral system, I'm just saying removal of ignorance via proper education should not be forgotten. What do you call two virgin couples that waited till after their wedding to consummate and their sex life resulting in more problems than they ever anticipated because the woman knew nothing about the art of love making and the man was equally as clueless? What do you call a reverend's daughter after years of careful moral guidance and religious dedication that ended up being a victim of a bad marriage due to sexuality issues which ultimately resulted in a divorce. Morality without education is pointless and at the same time education without moral values leads to a degenerate society. so can i say your own addiction to sex is a mental defect. is not with your senses like the medical doctor you partake in it? are you comparing the damaging effects of smoking with obesity? or didn't your own type of education teach you d difference between being fat and obessed? the purpose of formal education is simple. it gives you the ability to ask questions like how? why? and what? if you can't ask questions about how condoms were and whether it actually protects, then your own type of sex or formal education is trash! are you saying sex before marraige is better? or are the lives of those who are sexing before marraige now better than the lives of our parents who where virgins before marraige? the examples you mentioned. does it not occur to couples whether virgins or not? can you say authoritatively that those who sleep with each other before marraige have better sex lives than virgin couples? sis, go do ur research and acquire proper sex/formal/robust education. education teaches you not to copy the western world blindly. by the way, sex is not marraige and marraige is not sex. sex is one aspect of the entire issue of mutual compatibility. how to know yourself, how to discover compatibility quickly and who to marry, how to live together in undestanding and fidelity is my own definition of proper education which has healthy sex education in it by default for singles and couples. my point remains that d society and our own form of sex education only encourages looseness, without emotional discipline. thats deeper than just morality. if not, our religious leaders won't be sleeping with church members. ABSTINENCE, which you have learnt through understanding and mastering your emotions (sexual urge, anger, etc) remains the best. i am not condemning anybody, but this must be our collective goal if we want to leave better legaciesthan our parents. |

abbey621: Which country is more developed? The U.S.A or Nigeria? Which country is less morally corrupt? Nigeria or USA? An honest answer to these two questions is enough to debunk your value theory. A wise man once told me, it's possible to be honest and ignorant but it's practically impossible to be well educated and stupid! You can teach abstinence all you want but you can't force it on teenagers or young adults, they will make the decision themselves rather you can try to be realistic and provide them with proper sex education in order for them to become more informed and less ignorant! well, i have seen well educated but stupid persons. you only need to check the news. for example, how do you explain why a medical doctor would be addicted to at least 2packs of cigarrette per day. his he not educated? does he not know the consequences? i will not be drawn to the argument of comparing USA & Nigeria because d margins of moral corruption are completely different. what is constant is that sex is sex and the emotional discipline not to indulge is thesame. we several talk shows on radio and on tv, sex education in schools, mosques and churches. so the problem i repeat is not mere education. the education must come with knowlege of emotional discipline. we know so much than our forefathers, yet the rate of rape, tenage pregnancy, baby mamas, beastiality, STDs, etc is on the increase.hope you get my point. |

plendil: Absolute, unmitigated trash.
So married couples who intend to prevent pregnancy shouldn't use condoms? ur just a disgrace sorry o. the op never mentioned married couples exclusively. secondly, the stats are showing rise in unwanted pregnancies (or mistake babies as they call them) even among couples who stick religously to contraceptives and condoms. my point is simply clear. condom and other ways of artificial pregnancy prevention is not as effective as abstinence. those who use contraceptives and condoms yet end up as baby mamas should be the disgrace. those who use those things as license for being lose are also the disgrace!! |

amtaken: Your cursrs will go back to you. I hope when you get married you will never use any form of contraceptive. Condoms can be used by married couples for pregnancy prevention OK. Curses? where did it come from? Don't try to modify your first submission, because you never specified marraige. By the way, are you married? If you desire to control yourself, then we can discuss, but to think condoms or even marraige will curb your sexual appetite, then you are wasting your time. no condom manufacturer gurantees 100% effectiveness. they won't do your job of personal discipline for you, wether single or married. I feel your personal struggles, but you must call these things by their true names. thats the first stage to true freedom. Do you know that the difference between a man and and animal is abstinence? The power of choice. the power to say i will wait. the power to say no! Think about it. |

abbey621: No knowledge is ever wasted, things like this should be discussed openly as it ensures a more educated populace. Just because your point of view is abstinence does not mean it's the only correct way. People who use condoms have nothing to be ashamed of, in fact I applaud them for they are wiser than those that see condoms as a negative barrier and would rather skinny dip when having coitus. While abstinence is great, it isn't for everyone. We are humans with different tolerance and sexual desires, some people choose to hide those feelings till after marriage while some chose to explore them as early and frequently possible. Judge not my friend! I beg to disagree. The problem of your generation is not knowledge, it is character that has messed up the value system. Ask a six year old of things like this and you will be amazed. Knowledge is bound to increase by default. You can't slow down that. What matters is the decline of value system that should ensure we always use the knowledge appropriately in improving our lives and society. What would you rather teach your baby? usage of condoms or abstinence? the former teaches a lack of selfcontrol while the latter teaches delayed gratification for future gains. you be the judge! |

afronews1211: On Sunday August 12th, Joys, the last daughter of the founder of Winners Chapel Overseer, Bishop David Oyedepo, shared this photo along with a post where she described herself as "crazy".
"Those who know me know that I'm crazy. I don't blend in. I'm the one who's yingin' when everyone else is yangin'. I've been called an outcast by many outsiders. But the more I tried to fit in, the more I stood out. My differences wouldn't let me stay the same. Everyday, I've come to let the differences that make me, shine through. Tired of the need to stay the same, I've come to accept the real me. I'm not the same. And as long as I stay rare, there'd always be a need for all of me. For there would always be room for rarity. I have decided not to let the miracle of my birth be the sole miracle of my existence. The proof, is in my crazy"
However, it seems the post didn't go down well with some people as she has been receiving messages from critics. Moments ago, she took to her Facebook page to clarify what she meant by "crazy" Read her post below:
"I 've recieved way too many personal messages about this post below and so for the honest few, I have chosen to make a few things clear. It seems that many of us have misunderstood things too easily. You all have seen my posts for a while now, some of you have seen them for years on end, and you know that I absolutely adore my family. That cannot, has not, and will not ever change. Anyone who tries to insinuate any different is purely looking for loopholes that just don't exist. To that group, you may need to find more profitable work because that, already is a failed venture. Then, there is this other group that expects me to be EXACTLY like my mother or sister, who are role models to many including myself. especially myself. Thing is, you also may need to edit your expectation because that too, will not be happening. I'm me and will never be anyone else. can never be anyone else. and will not even try to. I love that my sister and I are not walking replicas of my mother. she teaches us not to be. she teaches that we are who God has called us to be, and that, with all sincerity. our differences make us unique, and that makes us an epic loving family. that, we are grateful to God for. Ps, "crazy" purely means/meant different. This, you would understand if you read through the post honestly, completely and some of us, without negative intent. So, to those who honestly were confused on the original post, I hope you have recieved the needed clarity. But to those still looking for loopholes, sorry. failed venture. Be you. Be who God created you to be. Yes, have role models (& you always can start with my mother and sister--right here on facebook even if you have nowhere else to turn). But don't ever try to dim your uniqueness to fit in with the "world's" definition of perfect. God bless y'all
WELL, IN MY OWN BOOKS, CRAZY MEANS NOT FITTING TO THE GOOD GIRL IMAGE OF YOUR FATHER..IT MEANS WORLDLY. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=935417713254331&substory_index=0&id=701754366620668&refid=17&_ft_=top_level_post_id.935417713254331%3Atl_objid.935417713254331%3Athid.701754366620668%3A306061129499414%3A69%3A0%3A1472713199%3A-4629797490606452991&__tn__=%2As |
