The price of liberty is eternal vigilance. Nigeria must be very vigilant else we would gradually be harbouring another extremist dictator. you talk of eternal vigilance of the presidency alone. what about other arms of government also talking like dictators with impunity. lets be balanced. taking sides has been the master plan of the ellite to weaken us nigerians. our stance should be were they legally arrested and guilty of the offence? it may look like we are supporting the president, but no. we are supporting d law. when we support this crackdown to the logical conclusion of conviction, we would have succeeded in setting a precedence that even the president will be subjected to. we would have succeeded in strenghtening d institutions. we must not allow they the ellites settle themselves when they have succeeded in dividing us along ethnic, religous and political lines. now, the assembly and executivevare gradually settling and sweeping d issues under d carpet. nigerians must refuse to be foolish anymore. even if d fight against corruption is one-sided, lets make sure that than one side is thoroughly clean. when they decide to slow down because the persecuted has 'settled' , we must refuse to allow them remove their legs from the turtle untill they secure convictions. thats what i call eternal vigilance! |

Alagba! A cases from the NJC can still proceed to Supreme Court. If you feel justice isn't done, then is either you over hull the judicary system itself or you sponsor a bill t the NASS.
Law depends on the intepretation that is why the phrase 'Get a good lawyer' is common.
After listening to DSS's side of the story, I saw the moral gap of expectation in the conduct of those arrested but that alone may not stand the test of legal standards. FG (Executive, Legislature and Judiciary) must no doubt over hull the standards in Judiciary but it must be user friendly.
Paddy, let me ask you this simple question,'what is the Nigerian defination od Corruption'? were you not aware of the decision of the NJC to perpectually suspend a chief judgevin rivers state even when a federal high court had said his appointment was legal? do your research on the NJC's handling of their own for the past decade and it will shock you....giving handslapping judgements except for the ONLY case a forthnight ago where they recommended prosecution. if you don'tclean up from within then external clean up is inevitable, even when the prosecution is also filthy. let them go prove thesources of the monies in their custody. when a sitting governor slapped ahigh court judge, the NBA did not cry out. the shameless solidarity will not help us all. lets remain objective not setimental. how i wish this is how nigerians rally round innocent nigerians arrested and detained unjustly by the same DSS, without evidence as huge as this. i have sen people arrested by DSS just because they chatted with a white man onfacebook without scrutinizing the content of the chat. lets us remain balanced and defend the defenseless. at the end of the day, they settle themselves and the common man who doesn't have big pockets keep suffering from acorrupt judiciary. was the conflicting judgements in the markafi-sherriff case not an eyeopener? please. |

Family › Re: When The Wife becomes the Husband. by lanreni: 7:17am On Oct 07, 2016 |
Toks2008: The primary duty of the man in marriage is to provide the basic needs of his family talking about the wife and the children while the primary role of the wife is to nurture the husband and the children which is the perfect definition of help mate.
Now it is important to note that no two marriages are the same and what works for you may not work for the other person and the fact that a man provides all the needs of the family does not mean that he can't assist the wife to do some of her primary duties if needs be and a wife who has become the breadwinner may also not mind playing her primary duties without any support from the husband .
But nevertheless i sincerely believe that every man whose wife have become the main bread winner or a co-bread winner to realize that it is very expedient for him to be ready to also be a co-nurturer of the family and also perform the primary duties of the woman such as cleaning the house, cooking, taking care of the children and helping the wife to do things that will ease off the stress from her.
I have heard of several cases where a man who is fully financially dependent on the wife still expects her to do all the domestic activities and prepares all three course meals and some men even get so angry with the wife because she complains of tiredness.
It is very wicked and uncaring for a man whose wife is also a partaker of his primary duties to still expect the lady to fully take care of the home front and this does not make you less a man but will rather encourage the woman and not make her look like a slave in the house.
I know some men will say it is not in our tradition as Africans to do domestic chores and I sincerely agree but we must also understand that it is also not an Africa tradition for a woman to be a breadwinner.
I don't know if this makes sense. NO. IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE. ARE YOU COMPETING? |

I'm a 27yrs old lady, finished university very very early and i've been extremely lucky with almost everything in life, but to get a suitor and settle down na palava. Friends/family members keep saying I'm too choosy or not serious.
Honestly, I AM NOT choosy. When the one thing i fast/pray for is for God to link me with the bone of my bone very soon, I even gave up my travelling plans in order to increase my chances of finding a future patner (i know you can meet ur patner anywhere, but na just to shut up people wey don tink say i no dey serious), a close friend even suggested i pend my 'work-from-home business', look for job so i can be leaving the house, and i got lucky within a month or two of dusting my CV i got a fantastic high paid job with no connection (honestly i've always been so lucky when i ask God for anything but i have no idea why he is delaying this). I just dont know how to explain it, the ones i like doesnt like me and the ones i dont have single feelings for will do anything to wife me. I'm not desperate or something, i just want to reach out if I'm the only one having this problem.
There was even a time i made up my mind to accept an ex proposal even tho i have no single feeling for him, i kept hoping/fasting/praying for a miracle to happen so i can at least like him (even if its 20%) bcus hes just too PERFECT, but it didn't just happen. My type of man doesnt need to be extremely rich, tall, handsome like most ladies dream man. He should just be neat, God fearing and have something upstairs biko (i love intelligent guys). Back to the main reason why i created this post; Married women/mature lady out there, has this ever happen to you? I really envy people that love their partners and they are loved back equally. Married women, please, I'm waiting to hear from you.
And for most people that will think I'm looking for a rich guy, believe me i once met a guy that was willing to sponsor my M.Sc in UK if i can be his Mrs, but i will never engage in anything that will bring curse on my head. So my problem is not even money. I'm so sick and tired you are very very normal. you have a charming and magnetic personality with a good sense of fashion and humour. what again is a guy like me...sorry..like them looking for? i believe you should stop being desperate. i have neverseen any good decision taken in desperationj that turns out right. i am interested you know, but i don't want someone that would jump at me without looking properly. hope you get my point. God who blessed you everyother way knows you need a good husband. He put d desire in you, not to make you desperate, but to trust in Him. When worried, pray about it and get peace about it. you are very secretive, but coming to a public forum to express ur mind shows you can overcome that. the right guys may just be around you.just make sure you don't unnecessarily flaunt your achievements or possessions and soon, he will come knocking! cheers. |

Politics › Re: POLITICS OF BETRAYAL: The Unfair Criticism And Treatment Of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu by lanreni: 5:04pm On Sep 27, 2016 |
TonyeBarcanista: On Saturday, September 24, 2016, I wrote a piece on this platform titled APC Humiliation: Time For Jagaban Bola Ahmed Tinubu To Consider PDP. In the piece, I made a passionate case for the leader of Ruling All Progressive Congress to switch over to the Umbrella side of the political divide after seeing the humiliation meted to his loyalists orchestrated by those that once benefited from his political benevolejnce in order to disgrace him. The most recent being the sham of Ondo APC governorship primary and the rejection of the APC Appeal Tribunal recommendation by the National Chairman of the party despite majority members of the National Working Committee present at the deliberation insisting on upholding the position of the Appeal tribunal. Barely 24 hours after the piece, His Excellency Asiwaju (Senator) Bola Ahmed Tinubu made a strong but patriotic call for his party's National Chairman to do the honorable thing by resigning.
To some people, Asiwaju Tinubu deserves whatever ill-treatment is coming his way simply because "he is too powerful as an individual" or "he should be tamed by fire by force". However, these individuals forget that power comes from God, and in any society, there will always be powerful citizens whose acquisition of power and influence could be attributed to factors such as show of benevolence, performance while in public office, intelligence, charisma or any other reasons. While it is no crime taming powerful individuals in society, such must be done according to laws, statutes and precepts of the society concerned.
In the Tinubu case, his acquisition of power was not due to sheer luck or something he attained overnight. For those that may not be aware, prior to 1999, Bola Tinubu was elected into the Senate to represent Lagos West Senatorial district in the Red Chamber in 1992 in the defunct Third Republic. After the June 12, 1993 Presidential election annulment which was arguably won by late businessman Chief MKO Abiola, Bola Tinubu along with other patriots formed the National Democratic Coalition(NADECO) to seek the restoration of Abiola's mandate that was freely given him by the Nigeria electorates. The struggle for the restoration led Asiwaju to flee to London in 1994 where he stayed on exile until 1998 after the death of Abacha and during the transition period that led to the fourth Republic which began in 1999. Tinubu stood for a cause even at a period when many politicians found it convenient to wine and dine with the military in order to satisfy the voices of both the stomach and pocket.
In 1998 Tinubu was elected Governor under Alliance for Democracy platform, the crises in AD led his faction to form the Action Congress of Nigeria. As the only AD/AC Governor between 2003 and 2007, Tinubu's performance was second to none, and he deployed his protege and exWorks Commissioner to Osun in 2007 where he defeated incumbent Olagunsoye Oyinlola. He also held his grip in Lagos by ensuring the victory of another protege Raji Fashola. Not forgeting the role and support he played to Comrade Adams Oshiomole of Edo and Rahman Mimiko (legal assistance) the Labour candidate in Ondo in 2007, ALL became successful. Not even the exit of strongman Atiku Abubakar from the ACN in 2010 deterred Jagaban, he went ahead to do a clean sweep of SW in 2011 with exception of Ondo state.
During the merger that formed APC, political observers would agree that the ACN bloc controlled by Tinubu brought more to the table more than the Buhari CPC bloc(which had only a poor Nasarawa state) and Modu Sheriff controlled ANPP bloc which had only Borno and Zamfara states. Yet, Tinubu allowed the CPC bloc to produce the Presidential Aspirant, while settling for a VP aspirant despite being the major contributor to the merger. It is a fact that without the ACN bloc, the CPC or CPC/ANPP wouldn't have won the Presidential election of 2015.
However, is is a shame that members of the CPC bloc led by President Buhari's men in connivance with the ANPP group(Oyegun) and ungrateful former beneficiaries of Tinubu's political magnanimity who are not politically relevant in their states in Southwest are out to humiliate and frustrate the man whom God used to shoot them to power through undemocratic and illegal means. For instance, APC Chairman John Oyegun has been in ANPP but has never won his polling booth in Edo state not to talk of producing Governor, Raji Fashola could not deliver his choice candidate in a free and fair APC Governorship primary in December 2014 despite being an incumbent, Kayode Fayemi could not win even his LGA in Ekiti state in his failed 2014 reelection bid despite enjoying incumbency, losing to Fayose in an historic 16-0, Amosun contested for Governor in 2007 under ANPP but was defeated by PDP Gbenga Daniel, it took his defection to ACN and adoption by Tinubu for him to win in 2011. The case is same with Ajimobi of Oyo state. Even President Buhari, despite his alleged popularity in the North has never delivered any Governor in his Katsina state nor his Kaduna political front prior to 2015. In fact, he has NEVER defeated any Northern Presidential candidate in Katsina state. Meanwhile, Tinubu has 100% record in delivering his candidates in Lagos state guber since 1999.
None of these people can stand shoulder to shoulder politically with Senator Jagaban Bola Ahmed Tinubu, none of these men enjoy the popular support Tinubu enjoys. They couldn't even defeat his preferred candidate Mr. Segun Abraham in Ondo APC Governorship Primary but had to manipulate delegate list. Despite the manipulation, Akeredolu only won by slim margin. To show the popularity and acceptance of Tinubu. They are scared of conducting a rerun because the are aware that a rerun will deal a fatal blow on them in favor of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu candidate Mr Segun Abraham.
Though I am neither a member nor sympathiser of the ruling All Progressive Congress, I see an opportunity for patriotic Nigerians irrespective of party to take a position that insists on justice and sanity in our political environment, especially internal democracy within our parties. We are in a country where injustice has been tolerated for long and accepted as norm especially when victims of the injustice are not on our personal or political good books, this acceptance of undemocratic values has to be kicked out if we must sanitise of country and political space.
Like I submitted earlier, those against Bola Tinubu and want to bring him down must follow the accepted and democratic path otherwise, they are on a wild goose chase. Tinubu rose to the height that he is through consistent hardwork and mercies of the Almighty God, those that wishes to humiliate him must do so through hardwork and hoping for God's mercy. Anything short of that is an exercise in futility.
Finally, I reiterate my call for Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider quitting the undemocratic and false progressive APC, and join hands with the PDP to help build a better country when power changes hands in 2019.
May God Bless Jagaban and Bless Nigeria https://silverbirdtv.com/sites/default/files/field/image/Asiwaju-Bola-Tinubu.jpg THE BEST POST EVER FROM A WAILER!!! WISH ALL WAILERS AND ZOMBIES WILL BE UNBIASED AND FOLLOW SUITE. |

1. James Ibori 2. Diepreye Alamieyeseigha 3. Diezani Alison Madueke 4. Dame Patience Jonathan 5. Government Ekpemupolo (aka Tompolo)
We all as citizens of Nigeria need to do more to unite this country if we must be one united, developed nation. We mustn't allow UK, US, et al to always bring distress and disunity in our nation only to flee to their land when trouble ensues.....only to be reporting us in their bias media platforms as war torn country whereas they contributed in making our country war torn
We have more corrupt past political leaders like:
1. Chief Olusegun Obasanjo - the man that bastardized political looting in Nigeria who deserves to be in maximum security prison 2. Bola Ahmed Tinubu 3. Atiku Abubakar 4. Theodore Orji 5. Ikedi Ohakim 6. Theophilus Danjuma 7. Abacha family 8. Turai Yaradua (that milked Nigeria dry after her husband's death) 9. Adams Oshiomhole 10. El Rufai
Etc, etc, etc
Yet these corrupt politicians walk freely but just the few Niger Deltans that occupied top political posts in Nigeria, we Nigerians want to join effort with UK/US to kill them and still live in peace
Abacha's loot is being re-looted like you said simply because he died...if he was alive, nothing would have happened!
Dasuki you mentioned is being victimized or paid back for his role in 1983, don't be fooled!
I am not in support of corruption, in fact, I am for total war against corruption but war against corruption shouldn't be selective, it should be holistic....no corrupt past or present politician should be spared! All of them who occupied one political post in Nigeria from 1999 - 2016 should face the same probe without cover.
We can do it...and you will see all Nigerians join effort with government to even uncover their loots, but a selective war against corruption will only breed hate and further pushes our country to civil unrest and militancy. You said you are for total war against corruption, but just a post of yours has given you away as a biased niger deltan nairalander who failed to mention current pdp members in this government also. the war against corruption must start from somewhere. if pdp had cleared off corrupt political elements in power during a niger deltan's rule, we would not be seeing thiefing tinubus on the streets. by the way, the FEW niger deltans have looted what others took years to loot combined in just sixyears (even abacha used 8yrs). let the witch hunted go clear themselves if truly innocent. by the way, it is obvious who the militants' benefactors are judging by their renewed militancy in thecreeks. tell your brothers that they cannot be behaving like a spoilt child. even the bees account for the honey they produce. |
