Esji80: Assalamu alaikum warahmatullah.Walaikum Assalam Warahmatullah Wabarkatuhu.According to what Dr. Zakir AbdulKarrem Naik said, wishing christians merry xmas will be haram and even sending xmas cards. It's like attesting to the fact that 'Jesus' is the son of God because they claim they are celebrating the birth of 'Jesus' which is according to them is the son of God. So wishing them merry xmas will be going against the Aqeedah of Islam because Allah begets not nor was he begotten.Furthermore,Christmas has no basis whatsoever in christianity and that's why many christians today are condemning it.It has a pagan origin which is no more than the birth of Mithra. Moreover,we have only two eids in Islam. But one may say but the food of the people of the Book(Christians and Jews) were made lawful in the Quran, can we eat xmas food? According to some scholars, eating the food of the people of the Book(Christians and Jews) are lawful but not on the day of their festivals. They are even lawful when the animal has been slaughtered according to the Sharia.Hope this answer helps and Allah knows best. |
Fkforyou: Actually what I meant was that I didn't say the atayhat finish b'cos I only became concious when the Imam said salamun alaikum and I just said it after him(completely..)...do you get it now?Ookay, got you bro.I was explaining incomplete Taslim instead of Tashahhud(Attahyat). Reciting the tashahhud is necessary.Omitting it doesn’t invalidate the prayer, but does make it deficient. If you don't perform the final Tashahhud or say it partly by the time the Imam concludes the prayer with Taslim and you also conclude your prayer following the Imaam without saying the final Tashahhud finished, you will have to perform prostration of forgetfulness. The least Tashahhud that would suffice for the person led in prayer would be to say,Attahiyyaatu lillaahi,wa salawatu wa tayyibatu, assalaamu alayka ayyuhan-nabiyyu wa rahmatullaahi wabarkatuhu, assalaamu alaynaa wa alaa ibaadillaahis-saaliheen.Ash-hadu allaa ilaaha illallaah,wa anna Muhammadan abduhu wa rasooluh (or anna Muhammdan rasooluhu). If you say this before the Imam concludes the prayer with Taslim, then your prayer is valid. But if you don't,then your prayer is deficient and you will have to perform prostration of forgetfulness and Allah knows best. Hope you get me now? |
bbkkatunxo: Masha Allah op May Allah continue to gv you more knowledge n wisdom n bless ur family and Muslim umma(Amin)Ameen and you too bro. Sino: jazakumullahu khayran bro, really a good readWa Iyyakum my dear brother, long time o. Al-Baqir:That's true, there are signs of Allah around us and even in ourselves. |
Ma sha Allah,I am also in. |
Fkforyou: @lanrexlan....please wat about in a situation where you are in a congregational prayer but due to lack of concentration you concluded the prayer (i.e sayin salamun alaikum wa rahmatullah after the imam)...but you didn't say the taslim complete,is the prayer valid if no how do I make up for it.?If I get your question very well,do you mean you didn't complete the Taslim? i.e. Instead of saying Assalam alaikum warahmatullah, you just said 'Assalam alaikum'? You only make up for missed rakat or if you add a rakat. You don't make up for incomplete Taslim and your prayer is very intact. The Imam must have completed his own Taslim before you can say yours. If the Imam has concluded the prayer by saying the Taslim and you are still reciting your Tashahhud(Attahyat),you don't have to be in a hurry to say your Taslim immediately after the Imam.Complete your Tashahhud even if the Imam has completed his Taslim few seconds before. Hope you get my answer? If not,you can re-frame your question bro. |
abdoolhapheez: jazakallahu khairan for this wonderful piece op.May Allah Increase us all in Imaan and TaqwaWa Iyyakum bro, ameen to your duas. maclatunji: Thank you Op, Jazakumllahu khayraWa Iyyakum sire. |

Bash92: Tanx @ lanrexlan, but when performing the prostration i still say Subhana rabbiyal ala during the sujud and will i recite the attahyat b4 saying the taslim? When performing this prostration of sahu(prostration of forgetfulness),you will still say SubhanAllah Rabbiyal Ala during these two prostrations. But after these prostrations, you won't recite the Tashahhud(Attahyat). You will just say the Taslim and your prayer has been concluded. |

Op,are you on cheap drugs? abdoolhapheez: Jazakallah Khairan @ lanrex and op too..I benefited from this..sorry for derailing, but I however have another Question. When praying fajr in congregation, I notice in the 2nd raka'at after the Imam recites surah, there's a short pause before going to ruku and everyone starts reciting something.please what is being recited during that short pause? ThanksWa Iyyakum bro.I was having this conversation with my cousin yesterday. He said it's a short version of Qunut but I'm not very sure of this.Allah knows best |
Mintayo: Well, maybe he already knew that muslims are readily going to hell. And christians to paradise right? Funny trinitarians. [color=black]Surah Al-Baqarah 2:111 -And they say,None shall enter Paradise unless he be a Jew or a Christian. These are their own desires. Say:Produce your proof if you are truthful. Surah Al-Baqarah 2:120 -Never will the Jews nor the Christians be pleased with you till you follow their religion.Say:Verily, the Guidance of Allah that is the (only) Guidance[/color]. |
Salam alaikum bro, this is from the sayings of our beloved prophet Muhammad(pbuh). Narrated Abdullah(May Allah be pleased with him):Once the Prophet(pbuh) offered five Rakat in Zuhr prayer. He was asked,"Is there an increase in the prayer?" The Prophet said, "And what is it?" They said,"You have prayed five Rakat.' So he bent his legs and performed two prostrations (of Sahu)[Sahih Al-Bukhari Volume 8 Hadith Number 398]. Narrated Abdullah(May Allah be pleased with him):The Prophet(pbuh) prayed (and the subnarrator Ibrahim said,"I do not know whether he prayed more or less than usual" ,and when he had finished the prayers he was asked, "O Allah's Apostle! Has there been any change in the prayers?" He said,"What is it?' The people said, "You have prayed so much and so much." So the Prophet bent his legs, faced the Qibla and performed two prostrations (of Sahu) and finished his prayers with Tasiim (by turning his face to right and left saying:As- Salamu'Alaikum-Warahmat-ullah). When he turned his face to us he said, "If there had been anything changed in the prayer, surely I would have informed you but I am a human being like you and liable to forget like you. So if I forget remind me and if anyone of you is doubtful about his prayer,he should follow what he thinks to be correct and complete his prayer accordingly and finish it and do two prostrations (of Sahu)[Sahih Al-Bukhari Volume 8 Hadith Number 394]. If you feel you mistakenly add a rakat, you will perform the prostration of sahu after taslim,(This simply means prostrating twice after taslim) and then you make taslim again after the two prostrations. If you feel you mistakenly missed a rakat, then you will pray one more rakat to make up for the one you missed and then you perform the prostration of sahu after taslim. N B Taslim is the concluding portion of the (salat),where one recites "Assalaamu ‘alaykum wa rahmatu- Allah" ("Peace and blessings of Allah be unto you" once while facing the right and once while facing the left.Hope my explanations are clear bro? |
This is an extract of the Lecture delivered By Alhajj Zakariyyah Balogun –Imam Ansarudeen Mosque,ZoneB & Alhajj Liadi-Akilapa (Late) - Chief Imam,Bodija Market Central Mosque,Ibadan. WHAT IS DEATH? Death is a natural phenomenon, creation of Almighty Allah and the power of death is given to one of Allah’s angels in person of malaku mawt popularly known as As-srail, to have control over the life of everything that Allah has created. Angel of Death is great and the power vested on him covers every being in the Universe, every living and non-living being in the Universe is at the claw of the angel of death. TYPES OF DEATH: Death May be classified into 3 types: 1)GRADUAL DEATH:This is dis-functioning or paralysis of the bodily organs or loss of any part of the organs while the soul is still alive in the rest of the body. This kind of death is a terrible trial, which no one ever prays for;it comes by accident, disease or as birth defect. 2)PARTIAL DEATH:This is sleep,it is a twin-brother to death and it is a naturally altered state of consciousness in man whereby the nervous system relax its function, the soul is released from the flesh for some time when Allāh takes it for the time being.By this the mental processes are suspended and functioning of other organs is altered or slowed down. The soul returns after some time and the body regains its full control and functioning when awake,a sign of resurrection after real death for those who can reflect. 3)TOTAL DEATH:Is the cessation of the body’s vital functions, usually assessed by the absence of a pulse and breathing. This is actual death in which the soul permanently separates from the body and the latter rots away.Any of the first two may lead to total death if Allah so wishes:Allah takes away the souls of human beings at the time of their death and those that die not during their sleep. He keeps those (souls) for which He has ordained death and sends the rest for a term appointed.Verily in this are sign for people who think deeply.[Surah Az-Zumar 39:42]. Who kills? Allah is the only one that kills or causes death, although the license to kill has been given to the angel in charge but the phenomenon, time and place of death are destined by Allah which the angel of death only follow diligently and obediently: Allah says in Surah Luqman 31:34 -Verily with Allah alone is the knowledge of the Hour …and no soul knows what it will earn tomorrow, and no soul knows in what land it will die.Surely,Allah is All-Knowing,All-Aware. To prove that only Allah can kill, Jabir transmits that:We were with the Prophet in the battle of Zatur-Riqa.On the journey we came across a shady tree, which was reserved for the comfort of the messenger of Allah, meanwhile a pagan came, pulled the sword of the messenger of Allah which was hanging on the tree and said: ‘Are you afraid of me or not’? The messenger of Allah replied No! The pagan said:‘Who will save you from me’? The Prophet replied ‘Allah’! On this the sword fell down from the hands of the pagan, and the Prophet picked it up and said:‘who will save you from me’? The pagan said: ‘Hold the sword in a better way, have mercy on me and leave me.(Nawawi). The Prophet left him with his ignorance to take lesson from Him,Who saved the Prophet(pbuh) from his hands, and Who let the sword fell from his hands? Evil and cultic people do,at times, threaten people with death, whereas they have no power over death, they only plan and make strategy which later turn out to be a trial for them and the oppressors. Allah promised to ruin them (Surah An-Nahl 16:45-47).Allah says:…Feeble indeed is the plot of Shaytān [Surah An-Nisa 4:76]. Allah says in the glorious Quran in Surah Al-Anbiyaa 21:35 -Every soul shall taste of death;and We test you with evil and good by way of trial. And to Us shall you be returned. Surah Al-Waqiyah 56:60 -We have ordained death for you all. Surah Al-Anbiyaa 21:34 -We granted not everlasting life to any human being before you (Muhammad). If then you should die, shall they men live for ever?. Allah cannot break His promise because of anyone,so one must face up to reality. The Prophet(pbuh) said:If you survive till evening,do not expect to be alive in the morning, and if you survive till the morning, do not expect to be alive in the evening, and take from your life for your death and from your health for your illness.(Bukhari). The irony of death is whether you prepare for death or not you will still regret whichever you subscribed to. Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) said:No one dies but is ashamed of himself;if he is a doer of good,he is ashamed of not doing more, and if he is an evil doer,he is ashamed of not desisting(Tirmidhi). Hope this satisfies your curiosity? |
FEAR OF ALLAH,THE ULTIMATE: Allah says in the glorious Quran in Surah Al-Baqarah 2:223 -And fear Allah and know that you shall meet Him. Surah At-Tawbah 9:119 -O ye who believe! Fear Allah and be with the truthful. Surah Al-Ahzaab 33:70 -O you who believe! Fear Allah and say the right word. Surah Al-Hashr 59:18 -O you who believe! Fear Allah and let every soul look to what it sends forth for the morrow. And fear Allah, verily Allah is well aware of what you. The fear of Allah actually means consciousness of His Might,Greatness and Omnipresence which leads to unconditional submission to His true commands, found in His approved faith - Islam (Surah Al-Maidah 5:3;Surah Al-Anam 6:83-90). Allah says in Surah Al-Mulk 67:1-2 -Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the Kingdom, and He has power over all things.Who has created death and life that He might try you which of you is best in conduct. There is wisdom to fear Allah in this for anyone who can reflect and shows understanding.Otherwise he becomes those who will fail according to Allah: And when it is said to him ‘fear Allah’,pride incites him to further sin.So Hell shall be his sufficient reward and surely,it is an evil place of rest [Surah Al-Baqarah 2:206]. And those who fear the religion of Islam has no basis to that other than hypocrisy and hatred, which has failed by the fact that this beautiful message about fear being said herein is revealed by the same faith and since Allah says in Surah Al-Imran 3:102 -O ye who believe! Fear Allah as He should be feared, and let not death overtake you except as a Muslim. Surah Al-Imran 3:19 -Surely,the only true religion with Allah is Islam…show that their eminence and salvation lie in what they are running away from! ITS BENEFITS: Fear of Allah makes life meaningful and peaceful;it makes worship perfect, accepted and abundantly rewarded. It protects one from sin and corruption as well as evil deeds and shields one from evil of other creatures. The Prophet(pbuh) said:One who fears Allah is feared by all creatures and he who does not fear Allah fears everything. Allah says in the glorious Quran in Surah An-Naml 27:53 -And We saved those who believed and feared Allah. Surah Yunus 10:103 -Thus it is incumbent on Us to save the believers. Surah Ar-Rahman 55:46 -And but for them who fear the standing before his Lord, there will be two Gardens in Paradise. And that is the ultimate. SOLACE: A Muslim, who avoid unnecessary fear and worry but take cognizance of obligations of khalifah- vicegerent of Allah on earth which He wants him to assume (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:30),is assured of fear- free but perfect happy life,as Allah says in many places in the glorious Quran in Surah Al-Baqarah 2:38 - And whoso shall follow My (Allah’s) guidance,on them shall come no fear nor shall they grieve. Surah Al-Baqarah 2:62 -…Whoso believe in Allah and the last Day and does good deeds shall have their reward with their Lord, and no fear shall come upon them, nor shall they grieve. Surah Al-Baqarah 2:112 - Whoever submit himself as a Muslim to Allah and is the doer of good, shall have his reward with his Lord,no fear shall come upon such neither shall they grieve. Surah Al-Baqarah 2:262 -They who spend their wealth for the cause of Allah, then follow not up what they have spent with taunt and injury, for them is their reward with their Lord and they shall have no fear, nor shall they grieve. Surah Yunus 10:62 -Behold,the friends of Allah shall certainly have no fear, nor shall they grieve. Surah Az-Zukhruf 43:60-61 -O My servants, there is no fear for you this day,nor shall you grieve. You believed in Our signs and submitted as Muslims. Surah Al-Ahqaf 46:13 - Verily, those who say,Our Lord is Allah, and then remain steadfast,no fear shall come upon them, nor shall they grieve. |
MAN’S SUPERIORITY: There is no doubt that man is superior to all other creatures created by Allah but men are equal among themselves as the same spirit of Allah was breathed into them by the same God which made them powerful even than Satan or any other spirit. Allah says in the glorious Quran in Surah Al-Isra 17:70 -We have honoured the sons of Adam... and conferred on them special favours, above a great part of our creation. Surah As-Sajadah 32:9 -Then He (Allah) fashioned him (man) and breathed into him of His spirit… If Allah spirit is in one, then what spirit and force is greater and powerful than that entity? Then why worry and why the fear? Man is raised to a position of honor above the brute creation;his spiritual faculties raised him above the greater part of Allah’s creation. If one realizes this favours and noble destiny and superiority he occupies, there will be no reason for fearing anything on earth except the Creator- Almighty Allah. FEAR NO ONE EVEN SATAN!: As a Muslim one needs not to fear anybody or creature, even Satan! The Prophet(pbuh) said:There should be no obedience to a creature in disobedience to Allah the Creator(Ahmad) He also said:Whoever pleases the people by angering Allah,Allah will leave him to the people(Tirmidhi) Allah says in the glorious Quran in Surah Al-Imran 3:175 - …It is Satan who only frightens his friends,so fear them not but fear Me (Allah),if you are believers. Surah An-Nisa 4:76 -Those who believe fight in the cause of Allah and those who disbelieve fight in the cause of the evil one. Fight therefore against the friends of Satan, surely,Satan’s strategy is weak. Surah Al-Maidah 5:44 -…therefore fear not men but fear Me (Allah) and barter not My Signs for a paltry price…” If Satan should not be feared and if his strategy is weak, then his accomplices like sadists and wizards are worthless! JUSTICE - DEALING THAT BEATS FEAR: As a Muslim, your relation with people, good and bad of them matters most. To avoid the fear of people whatever their class and belief you must deal with them with justice and give respect to those it is due. Once you deal not treacherously with people and does not violate their rights, then you are free from their evil and will be protected by Allah. Allah says in the glorious Quran in Surah An-Nisa 4:135 -O you who believe, be strict in observing justice and be witness for Allah, even though it be against yourselves, or your parents and kindred.Whether he be rich or poor.Allah is more regardful of them both than you are. Therefore follow not low desires so that you may act equitably. And if you conceal the truth or evade it,then remember that Allah is well aware of what you do. The Prophet(pbuh) said:….And fear the prayer of the oppressed one,for truly there is no veil between him and Allah (Sunan Nasai). Injustice to others is the foundation of fear of such people’s attack and evil.If you can avoid injustice, cheating and oppression, you have no cause of fearing evil people. Disbelievers don’t know Allah but that does not make Allah to deny them their rights. He is Lord of justice and He sides not with injustice against any of His creatures. |
randwise: Pls, teach me how to have this so called "spiritual strenght"... I admire to have a very close relationship with the ALMIGHTY but, i just need a guide. I'd love it if a Generous Muslim Brother, can help. You should read this bro. www.nairaland.com/1370131/how-attain-spiritual-perfection |
Evil Handiwork:The consequence of those who deliberately wrong people and do evil deeds is certain to hunt them about, and they continue to be the prisoner of their own conscience. Those who work evils will certainly expect the curse of their victims and that cause them fear. Be wise think twice and avoid evil thought let alone evil deeds (Surah Al-Anam 6:120)! Worries about Future:Thinking about how to survive, the unpleasant things that might happen or that have happened or about the problem that one have,do arouse fear in many people. But,if one realizes that Allah is able to do all things and in His hand is the future, then one will rather supplicate Him and hope in Him than to fear the morrow (Surah Al-Imran 3:26-27)! Pressure of the Oppressors and Powerful People:The prowess of the mighty and bully as well as bellicose of the oppressor and powerful people ordinarily cause fear in some people that serves them. But if it is well understood that Allah says in Surah Al-Kahf 18:39 -There is no power save Allah and Surah Ar-Rahman 55:26-27 - All that is on earth will pass away. And there will remain only the Person of Allah,Master of Glory and Honour Then one cares not about feeble power and fleeting intimidation! EFFECT OF FEAR Fear makes people to tell lie,to deceive to corrupt, and to renegade from one faith. Fearing anything other than Allah is counter -productive to an Islamic life. It causes disturbance of worship- the purpose of creation, faith becomes weakened and one’s activities and all endeavours - economical, social and spiritual will be pervaded with regression. Energy will be sapped and life will become miserable as one will be subjected to deceit and exploitation and the worst of it,is going into shirk- polytheism either consciously or unconsciously, all with their attendance bad consequences. Health-wise,irrational and continuous fear is very harmful to the body especially to mental health. The Noble Prophet(pbuh) said:The worst evil found in man is the frightening cowardice and the un-dignifying miserliness.(Abu Dawud). FEAR AND REALITY OF LIFE: Death, poverty, misfortune, failure, success, ill-health and many others are situations that man live with on earth. At one time or the other, one is bound to experience any of these. They are trials if not consequence of one’s disobedience to Allah’s order or one misdeed. One needs not to worry about them in case of their natural occurrence or apprehension. One’s knowledge and believe in the words of Allah and supplication are enough to lead fear-free life followed by the right preventive/corrective procedure to tackle them. So far,one does not dip hands in forbidden acts that turn round to produce the consequence. Allah says in the glorious Quran in Surah Al-Baqarah 2:155 -We will try you with something of fear and hunger and loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to the patients. Surah Al-Baqarah 2:214 -Do you think that you will enter Heaven while there has not come over you the condition of those who passed away before you? Poverty and afflictions befell them and they were violently shaken until the messenger and those who believed along with him said:when will come the help of Allah?” Surely the help of Allah is nigh”. With true faith in Allah, and obedience to His orders, you would attain the fulfillment of His words, that:Surely there is ease after hardship.[Surah Ash-sharh 94:5]. |
Fear is natural in human being,as there is in the human brain the limbic system, which is the centre for basic emotional drives such as fear which is produced by stimulation of the concerned part. There are countless of creatures and conditions as well as objects made by man that people fear and worried about. They include:man himself,jinn,witch/wizard,Satan,death,wild animals, poverty, failure,disasters,misfortunes,ill-health even religion. Many people are afraid of everything and give frightened look and cowardice reaction to ordinary issue.Such unreasonable and uncontrollable fear is unnatural and unhealthy and does not befit man especially a Muslim as he will not enjoy tranquility of soul to live a peaceful life expected of him to fulfill the essence of his creation. This is disastrous for his being both in this World and Hereafter. CAUSES OF FEAR The causes of fear in man are attributable to many reasons which include: Lack of Piety: One who has no belief in Allah is naturally fearful about everything. He feels empty and lonely especially when threatened. He lacks all spiritual strength and hope to stand firm and above worries.Allah says in the glorious Quran in Surah Al-Maidah 5:35-... So seek the ways to draw closer to Allah. Allah is ready to accept you,Allah also says in Surah Al-Baqarah 2:186- When My servants ask you about Me,say I am near I answer the prayer of the supplicant when he prays to Me.So they should hearken to Me and believe in Me, that they may be rightly guided Lack of Knowledge:An ignorant man about the knowledge of the nature, limitation and ability of Allah’s creations is overwhelmed by their fear. And lack of understanding about what Allah says of certain conditions and secret of devils and trials, makes some submerge in continuous and avoidable torment of fear. Allah says in Surah Ta-ha 20:114- Therefore seek increased knowledge about the true message of Quran |
The meaning of God created man in his Image means man has been bestowed with life, understanding, knowledge, power of hearing and seeing but the features of man are different from those of God,only the names are the same. For example,God has life and knowledge and power of understanding, man also has them but there's no comparison between the creator and the created thing.Allah says in the glorious Quran in Surah Ash-Shura 42:11 -The Creator of the heavens and the earth. He has made for you mates from yourselves, and for the cattle (also) mates.By this means He creates you (in the wombs). There is nothing like unto Him,and He is the All-Hearer,the All-Seer Surah Ikhlas 112:4 -And there is none co-equal or comparable unto Him.Man requires food and water to survive, the Creator doesn't require to be fed[Surah Al-Anam 6:14].The creator is immortal while man is a mortal. The moment you can compared something to God,be it in million or trillion times He ceases to be God. |
LOL ,bro tintingz don chop free ban |
seun66: Quietly, Easily Done (QED)Hmmm, the QED I know of means Quod Erats Demonstrandom[which was to be proved].You derived this bro? |
Mintayo: Lol,i laff in tongues, well maybe some other times when d opportunity arises,i will say what i have in mind, lets me not derail this thread and i will say u shld better do the same.I am just answering your question, not derailing. |
Emusan: Will you stop detailing this thread and allow better people to talk.Mtcheew |
Emusan: The privilege you and your brethren are enjoying on this section should tell you who is on the Lord side. Was my post insulting? No,so why lamenting? Despite the critics christianity have face over the decades yet the word of God is still stand.Which critics is that? How many anti christianity threads have been opened here compared to the ones opened against Islam on this forum? How many books have been written against christianity? The Father loves the Son and He has committed everything into Son's hand. So Jesus is coming with power and glory to judge everyone as the Father has will.Quit preaching all time, that won't work.Allah says in the glorious Quran in Surah Al-Isra 17:15 -Whoever goes right, then he goes right only for the benefit of his ownself. And whoever goes astray, then he goes astray to his own loss.No one laden with burdens can bear another's burden. And We never punish until We have sent a Messenger (to give warning).Guidance has come to everyone,if you receive it it's for your own soul and if you decline it's against yourself.Allah also says in Surah Ash-Shuara 26:89 -Except him who brings to Allâh a clean heart [clean from Shirk (polytheism) and Nifâq (hypocrisy)]. |
Mintayo: oh,i dnt really want to derail this thread..but let me ask,is it islam that allah is refering to above?Yes. |
Emyben: You mean muslim sects like Shia,Sunni,Ahmaddiyya? or christian sects like Catholic,Anglican or Prorestants? The former. |
Mintayo: You deserve a ban for derailing.O ya,come and ban me.Prove your worth,Allah says in the glorious Quran in Surah Al-Anam 6:159 -Verily,those who divide their religion and break up into sects (all kinds of religious sects),you (O Muhammad SAW) have no concern in them in the least.Their affair is only with Allâh, Who then will tell them what they used to do. |
