jajaopobo:
If they really had the benefit of Nigeria in mind, then her purpose would be better served if the directors used their apparently strong influence to initiate stronger reforms in govt, help make the govt agencies work better and more efficiently (not take over their functions for profit purposes as TransNat wants to do) and urge Baba Iyabo to retire on time.
Initiating stronger reforms in the government that is shaky will distablize the whole thing becasue it means government having their hands in it and splitting the managers into 2. That should not be totally allowed. What i think they need is a written law by the highest judiciary in nigeria, greater international influence and ofcourse our government (to a reasonable extent). The law has to be defined in such a way that who ever that is comming into power will have no right to the stake of their private investors.
If they like they can play away with the government portion and infact this is what is happening in the oil industries, shell, harlimboton etc, they get their share and utilize it well the help the united states. Nigeria get their share and share it among the top officials.

PoliticsRe: Third Term Agenda <Vote, Comments> by larger20(m): 7:54pm On Mar 24, 2006
Obasanjo is the not the best president we have but i will go ahead and vote for him becasue as a leader myself, i would say he is fairly Ok concidering the power, the pressure and the command following leadership.

He has proved himself worthy of taking nigeria to the promise land with his developmental projects accross the nation, his fight for corruption which neccecitates allowing him to rule for another 4 years to stablize these fight. The bad side of OBJ is that he is bais about certain things making some people above the law. He has to come to a point where this issue should be sort out.

I think the problem lies with how our governors spend the fund allocated to each state. The fedral executive council has always done their job which is to allocate funds to states. If your state governors usues the fund well, then everyone will be happy.

For example, when ngige came into power, there was 0 money in the anambra state account due to the bad governance of mbadinuju, Ngige has proved himself worthy by living a lot of money for obi to use. The next governor comming in should see the amount left for the state and plan to build up the states fund so that the state can grow. Without adequate financial planning, we will remain the poorest country in the world due to un even distribution of fund.

If i ever get lucky to meet mbadinuju, I will shot that man

He seems to be a very nice gentleman but I have no idea about the Nigerian culture, are Nigerians woman jealous if they see a Nigerian man dating another sister,

Just some advice,

Thanks
Yes nigerian men can cheat but as far as good relationship when u r with him, there are the best . They will be the last people to break up with u if u marry them, so try talking to him about marriage with time and see his reaction.
I am also dating jamican woman and she is enjoying every bit of the time we spend together.

PoliticsRe: Who Is Chris Uba? by larger20(op): 7:40am On Mar 23, 2006
Jakumo:
Chris Uba is a biological brother of late Stella Obasanjo. Through the late first lady, Chris and his brother Andy Uba were allocated oil blocks through the back door, and by this means both men, the learned doctor and the stark illiterate, became obscenely wealthy overnight without having to lift a finger in any legitimate job.

Andy Uba is a medical doctor formerly practicing in California who quickly relocated back to Nigeria as soon as his sister became Nigeria's first lady. Up until the death of Stella Obasanjo, Andy Uba, who has never held any official political post, was agruably the second most powerful man in the Nigerian Federal government, for without his approval NO federal contract would be given to ANYONE. In his capacity as the goalkeeper of the federal treasury, Andy Uba is reputed to have skimmed and stashed away a conservative 80 to 100 million greenback US dollars in foreign accounts and real estate. Whether or not the president has been aware of these facts shall remain the billion dollar question.

Andy Uba never makes newspaper headlines and concentrates primarily on the task of getting richer with each passing day. Lacking the benefit of a formal education, measurable intelligence and discretion, Chris Uba decided to use a sizeable chunk of his loot to reshape the Nigerian political landscape to suit his area-boy tastes. The upheavals in Anambra State are thus all traceable to one man : Chris Uba and his overflowing trunk of cash.
I am beggining to belive that Economic finacial crime commision is obsanjos dogs! becasue all they do there is to prey on the people against OBJ. Ngige is cleared of crime by EFCC but babangida is not facing any threat after all he did to the country Most of these men escaped unhurt.

BusinessDesign History, Moulds Of Nigerian Made Car Stolen By Robbers by larger20(op): 5:00am On Mar 21, 2006
http://odili.net/news/source/2006/mar/18/315.html

An indigenous motor manufacturing company, Izuogu Motors Limited, Naze Owerri, Imo State, has lost property valued at over one billion naira to burglary.

advertisement
According to the chairman of the company, Dr. Ezekiel Izuogu, some armed men numbering about 12 broke into Izuogu Motors factory, Saturday, March 11, between 1.00 and 2.00 a.m. and carted away various machines and tools including a design history notebook of Z-600, the design file Z-MASS, containing the design history for mass production of Z-600 car, a proposed locally made car and the moulds for various parts of the car.

Izuogu, who has laboured for 18 years under very difficult circimstances to design and produce the stolen moulds, lamented that the moulds took 10 years to design and build.

“The perplexing thing about this theft is that it is clear that none of the stolen items can be sold in the market. Since the Z-600 is not yet in the market, the items stolen can only be used by the 600 phototype which is just one car,” he told journalists.

He wondered why other highly valued machines and tools in the factory were not touched by the robbers if they were looking for money.

“It seems that the target of this robbery is to stop the efforts we are making to mass-produce the first ever locally made car in Africa,” he stated, adding: “Other items stolen after a quick inventory conducted by the company soon after the incident include locally produced timing wheel, locally produced year camshaft, locally produced crankshaft, locally produced engine tappets, all 20 pieces each. Also stolen are 10 pieces of locally produced Z-600 engine blocks, 10 pieces of locally produced pistons, 4 pieces of engine block mounds, 4 pieces of top engine block moulds, 10 pieces of engine fly wheel and 2 pieces each of rear car and front mudguard moulds.

The moulds stolen took 10 years to design and build. In monetary terms they are valued over one billion Naira. But the problem is not the money but the time and energy it took to design and produce these moulds. To worsen the matter, our design notebook has also been stolen.”

He regarded the loss as a national economic disaster were the nation to appreciate the value of technological and intellectual property.

Izuogu therefore appealed to the Federal Government, the security agencies and all well-meaning Nigerians to assist in the recovery of the stolen items.

The robbers had mercilessly beaten the security men and tied them up before forcing the factory open, he added.
