Do you know someone with a disability that requires them to use a wheelchair lift in a minivan?  I'm in a design class and I need to find people to fill out this short survey so we can get a better idea of what people need in a wheelchair lift.  Attached is a survey that can be filled out, please fill out the second page if you own one.

In terms of actual sacrificing of human blood and scarce resources in peace keeping missions to keep a united Africa I think one of the Nigerian presidents should be the man.
I will give it to obasanjo and no, he is not giving me any more. I think he has done a lot to keep liberia and sudan in peace

I Think the problem is dt, we nigerians accepted our fate without moving a finger, why should we always beleive 'there is no choice'. If i shld tell u d truth, when i resigned, it was d craziest thing on earth to do, i was completely broke, i just spent my last bucks renting a new apartment and was even still striving to do d furnishings. But since then, i have been surviving and even getting on. I am a strong beleiver in fate. I beleive, we will all get to where we are bound, no matter what. Maybe u shld share my beleif. There is never a time in life when dr is no other choice, things don't happen like dt.
We dont have a lot of such "chances"in nigeria and things are not that transparent as you wish. iN america someone can get fired today and get another job tomorrow, nigeria hmm it might take connection even if u qualify, that is my point. good luck anyways.

Listen folks, What this dude is saying is true to some extent, He said and I quote" Girl that live in Benin" He did not mean the tribe, he meant the location and that true. I was born in Benin city. I grew up there and even went to school there. I know what he is talking about. It is very true that the young girls you now find in town are always asking for money to do onething or the other. Although we still have some decent ones in the town, the bad eggs has nearly taken over the city with their Jugantee acts and kunfu styles,
I am glad another experienced person is in the house, now tell me, would u rather take argument than experince?
Not all of them are from benin, its not written on their faces, however benin life makes it hard for girls living their to be to themselves without money. Isnt it this girls I see everyday by the market by the road side in benin? That market is the greatest source of income to the community yet it is disgusting to look at. Come on peoplehuh? flash some dollar on their faces and they will serve you like a king

It will be a good thing if anyone can surely come up with larger20's idea.

But when you look at the logistics required it's only the government that can execute such project.

It would have been better if govt provide the logistics and then the private companies charge people say like N100/ID.

N100 in 120 Million places is sure jackpot.
Ofcourse an individual cannot do it alone. A company cannot do it alone without influence from the government. There is what is called advanced engineering, it looks on how other engineers can team up with their diffrent expertise to make a product.

Same Idea here, talk to the nigerian government, they will help u with the following:

- Privatization
- They will use the current passort offices as hardcore offices plus few other offices you will create in each state.
- They will supply you with experince becasue they have been managing the passport offices before you
- Government will provide funding and also take a stake in your company
- Your funding will help too.

This is all i can say not but if anyone is intrested in such a project, buzz me and maybe i will be your senior project manager.

Nigeria Blames Smugglers for Outbreak of Avian Flu (Update4)

Feb. 10 (Bloomberg) -- Nigeria blamed smugglers for avian- flu infections that have spread to at least four bird farms, as authorities in Greece and Bulgaria probe possible outbreaks of the lethal H5N1 virus strain.

The ``activities of illegal importers and smugglers of pets and birds'' brought the virus to Nigeria, Agriculture Minister Adamu Bello said yesterday. The World Organization for Animal Health said bird migration most likely caused the infection, which killed 40,000 fowl in an outbreak that began a month ago.

``The virus was probably introduced by migratory birds,'' Bernard Vallat, the group's director general, said yesterday in an interview. ``That's our working hypothesis.''

Dead swans discovered in Greece and Bulgaria were infected with an H5 subtype of the avian influenza virus, government officials said yesterday. Tests are under way to determine whether it is the same strain that has killed birds in more than 20 countries and infected at least 166 people. A confirmed H5N1 infection in Greece would be the first in the European Union.

The disease in birds creates more opportunity for human infection and increases the risk of the virus changing into a form that is more contagious to people. Such a virus may touch off a pandemic similar to the one that killed as many as 50 million people in 1918.

In Azerbaijan, samples from dead wild birds tested positive for the H5N1 strain in a London laboratory, Reuters reported, citing a spokesman for the country's Health Ministry.

Indonesian Fatality

In Indonesia, a 22-year-old woman from Bekasi, east of Jakarta, died yesterday and a 27-year-old woman from the same area is in a critical condition, said Ilham Patu, a doctor at Sulianti Saroso, the hospital where both were treated. Local tests showed the women were infected with the virus and confirmatory tests from a World Health Organization laboratory are pending, he said.

Because the disease wasn't immediately contained in Nigeria, it is probable that the virus will be found in other areas of the country and beyond its borders, according to Vallat of the World Organization for Animal Health.

While Nigerian officials have confirmed infections on four farms, 30 or more may be affected, Agence France-Presse reported, citing the head of a local poultry farmers' group.

All birds suspected of having the disease in Nigeria will be killed and the government has set aside 1.5 billion naira ($12 million) compensation to affected farmers. Payments will be made at the rate of 250 naira per bird, Bello said in a statement on the Nigerian government's Web site.

Test Report

A report from a World Organization for Animal Health laboratory in Padova, Italy, of genetic analysis of viral samples taken from infected birds is scheduled to be released later today, helping scientists trace the cause of infection.

Outbreaks in Turkey, killing four people since the beginning of the year, have illustrated the difficulties of controlling the disease once it gains a foothold. The part of Cyprus controlled by Turkey was struck last month and Iraq and most recently Nigeria have also confirmed the presence of H5N1.

Results of the tests on the swans found in Greece will be ready in two to eight days, Greek Agriculture Minister Evangelos Basiakos said yesterday. Greece last October reported its first suspected bird-flu case; it turned out to be a false alarm.

Health officials in Bulgaria, which is seeking to join the EU next year, said test results may come next week from another swan found infected with H5 a week ago.

That swan, the first known case of H5 in Bulgaria, was found close to the border with Romania, which was hit by an outbreak of the deadly H5N1 strain last year.

The EU has tried to avoid avian influenza outbreaks by banning imports of poultry from infected areas and halting trade in pet birds. The European Commission today will adopt safeguards in the areas where the infected Greek birds were found.

CareerRe: Nigerians Studying Abroad: Would You Go Back Home To Work? by larger20(m): 3:00am On Feb 10, 2006
Bhola:
Why would any body think of going back to nigeria? I don't think there is any amount of money that is worth my life. I will rather work in walmart for 6dollars/hr, than get "oil money" in nigeria. see, it is not the money, it is the security of life and properties. what is the point of working and making the money and i can't spend it? i can feel like eatin pizza at 3pm and all i'll have to do, is drive to the nearest supercenter. see, the rich are the ones that own nigeria. if u are not going to be rolling in a whole lot of dough, ain't no point. from the time u step out of the plane, u'll start to wonder why u went back. unless something happens to that country, the only time i'll go back is to go do some politics and eat part of the nigeria cake!
Bolah well put, there r reasons to turn away from nigeria however we just have to love it irrespect of the bad its doing to us. I am going and security is one of the areas in my mind.

HealthRe: CSA-54: A Possible Cure For HIV/AIDS! by larger20(m): 2:26pm On Feb 08, 2006
Actually they may not have been the first people to find the cure, a lot of african herbalist has cured people with aids and it comes to the news once in a while. The problem with the herbalist is that they are afriad they will go out of business. Their products are not patenable, the guys in BYUs has filed a patent for their claim. Other reasons while people dont belive herbalist is becasue of no laboratory test on their products which might be causing more harm than good to patients. I have heard of herbalist healing people in ghana for HIV and testing confirming that people are not negative...
