I don't live in Lagos but awka,,I don't even like Lagos and I don't think I will prefer to live there.....I rather prefer Enugu, uyo or portharcout
My uncle's wife is from Awka and i have lived with her during my time in uniben, so i do not hate Igbos which i have said countless times. I understand you. It's easy to reject or dislike something you don't know and in btw my posts i have stated i much i love Enugu but still Lagos na Lagos.

You can easily say you don't like Lagos because you probably will struggle to fit into the life style here but me i LOVE it here. Just like you, i have loads of uncles in Asaba and Akure who said they can't stay in Lagos but i know they can't fit into it based on their reasons.

Bro...i hate commenting on issues such as this especially when such issue deals with tribe. What you don't understand is that Lagos is ahead of other states in Nigeria, yes, that is a fact. It is like this becus of so many factors, so bragging wit life in Lagos is nothing but low mentality in the highest order. Saying u av not seen Lagos shoppers acting this strange is low mentality too. Don't compare Lagos civilization with that of IMO state. U should have come to see how Yoruba ppl acted when Ibadan shoprite opened for bonanza! I wept becus Nigerians disgraced me. I just don't get it. The person that started this useless issue is the guy who insulted the igbo tribe and was claiming that lagos is London, not really u. But we need to understand something, Lagos is far behind when you compare it with other cities in the world with such opportunities. Everyone developed Lagos and not really yoruba pple who are naturally lazy. There are dam local pple in Lagos....so local bro. Most Lagos lacal people dey annoy me and disgrace my identity as a Nigerian. When you want to compare states, take Lagos aside becus most investments in the country go there and yet the level of civilization and development is still very low. Other states are still struggling to meet up and we must encourage them to do better. You see, I witnessed the same scenario in Ibadan and I wept. Even some times when I visit Ibadan, the way the locals shop there wanna make me cry. Fact remains that most Yoruba locals are dam local and very annoying. I travel a lot and once I get to Ondo state, the villages and the level of local behaviour I see usually produce frowns all over my face. This is not hating..yorubas are dam local and can't be compared with igbos at all. Go to villages in the East and see how wise and civilized they are. I work in a place where we get to meet and hear from people living in damned communities and I confessed that illetracy level is high in Nigeria, the worst and most embarrassing behaviour comes from Yoruba people...
Please, dear Yoruba people, Lagos is not the only Yoruba state in Nigeria...when you wanna talk about your states, pls, talk about Ondo, Oyo, Osun, Ekiti etc...those places are made up of people who are dam local...I hear from them. With the level of opportunities in Yoruba land due to Lagos state, all Yoruba states should have developed at least to the level of Lagos but they can't even compete with most other states (it is a shame)...I give it to Eastern states, even with low level of opportunities there, the people still got to their current level which is commendable.
U guys should stop this nonsense tribal war...Nigeria generally is backward...simple! Wake up please.
Hummm................ I admire your argument and i respect the fact that you made ur points without infusing insults into it; which shows you have an idea of what you are saying. Empty vessels just use abusive language to make their points, especially when they haven't been insulted by anyone.

However, i am not COMPARING Lagos as a state with Imo because in Nigeria Lagos rules in terms of development. After all, i acknowledged that Imo State is the leading Eastern State in Education which means the people are learned and i respect them for that. I didn't say anything bad as far as i am concern and whether we agree or not, Lagos is like a yardstick to measure other states with no harm meant which was why i said i haven't seen such in Lagos.

Lagos may belong to the Yorubas on paper but believe it belongs to everyone because the imput of its development cuts across every tribe in Nigeria. It's a former Captital city of the nation, so every tribe is here. When i say I haven't seen such things in Lagos that includes the Igbos too. Aren't Igbo people in Lagos? Do they not shop in Malls? So this is not something against the Igbos because by tribe and language i am closer to the Ibos than Yorubas.

I speak Ibo if it pleases you to know as well as i speak Yoruba very fluently being born in Lagos.

The point i established was from a Joking point of veiw because i found the picture very hilarious and i must say it again that is is strange indeed. Really, i haven't seen such all my life (late 30s) since i have been here, neither have i seen such in the other states i have stayed in but if i come across one, then i can have a good laugh with no hard feeling.

I didn't see the Ibadan picture of shoprite and you think if i did i would laugh or make a joke out of it? I'm not tribalistic at least i know that. I love Nairaland because it just makes me laugh each time i read comments.

This is the opening day and there's a bonanza going on so you shouldn't be surprised at the throng and somewhat rowdiness. Its normal for all major business opening to experience an 'invasion'. It's absolutely not a sign of backwardness. These are innocent people who freely came out to show appreciation for the opening of a major mall in their vicinity. The frenzy will ease gradually as the days go by.

Mr OP, That pix is from the opening day bonaza.
That make it even embarrassing because some people there acted as if the items in the mall will finish that same day without the stock being replenished.

Bonaza usually runs through the first week or two.

Actaully, the truth is that in malls bonaza is not possible because they can't give you one for free, unless you are talking about the price. However, the items are already all discounted by price so that will not change even in the first 1 month.

My reason is because i have a very strong conscience that will judge me if i allow the person die.
However, because we have a stupid police force who will think you killed or attacked her, i will take the money to the police to prove that i'm only helping her.

Report the case to the police, while she's at the hospital and hopefully she won't die but of cos i would have deposited part of the money in the hospital for her treatment before going to the police as that they can help trace her people.

Because of GEJ Nigeria has been certified Polio free, he even managed to eradicate the disease in the North which had been difficult for past governments to do. Ebola? Well we all know how it was addressed and promptly dealt with by him, Lasa fever I am 100% sure many people did not hear of its existence while GEJ ruled, have you ever heard of role back malaria program? Well, that's GEJ's brain child.

Power generation significantly improved during his rule, besides we were paying far less than we are paying for it now.

Several favorable policies and tax wavers were instituted to encourage foreign investment, he is responsible for the growth of our indigenous automobile industry, the growth of the middle class was largely a result of GEJ's economic policies that enabled small businesses to thrive. I can go on and on.
Above many thing you have said, you still do not underline corruption.

what about Dasuki, dzani etc.

I work with a multinational firm and i know what our competitors are suffering now since PMB started this single account. A lot of wavers used to happen when our competitor bring in goods and they don't pay the right duties but that has change.

I do not want to name companies but i'm telling you what i know first hand because we do competitor's report and i'm in sales in consumer electronics.

There are alot of things you are blinded to. CORRUPTION.

Ebola? mtchew? I thought Nigeria was the only country in Africa declared as Ebola free. Last time i checked, credit went more to Lagos state government (APC) than that federal. You need to come to Lagos and see what FASHOLA has done when it comes to health care.

Talk of power generation, please speak for yourself. Ever heard of ESTIMATED BILL? You don't wanna know how much consumers have paid under GEJ regime. Do you know how many people paid for pre-paid that didn't get it? You call that a transparent government? abeg speak for yourself jare and what happens in the streets, not what you read on new papers.

There are area without transformer from inception till date.

Roll back malaria program?? What impact has it had? does the common man know about this and benefit from it? I'm in sales and i can tell you that Nigerians prefer cheaper things now. If that so called programmed made sense everybody for subscribe to am.

All they do is only on new paper pages.

I am not saying Buahari is the best but to have GEJ back is a massive error.

Anything Buahari is struggling to achieve today came from the handwork of his predecessors because they all failed and someone with a good intention does not have the kind of resource they had to work with.

Many people do not see this but na OBASANJO ruin this nation and also went on to bring this CLOWN and mickey mouse called GEJ. After spending billions on power holdings we still do not have any power and the same man (OBJ) went on to buy some stake in power holding again, yet people blame buhari. You can only see how bad and deep things has been spoilt because Buahari is trying to fix them. If he wants to cover them like others, you will all believe everything is alright just as someone is listing garri, yam and all those nonsense. Who told you dollar was good under GEJ? when you try to fix a problem, then you have to deal with multiply problems that will surface.

Na today the nation don spoil dey come? whoever is expecting miracles from Buahari should just go and sit down.

sorry my write up is too long because there is always plenty to explain.

May i add that when you give it does not say give to pastors or church but it tells us concerning the parable of the sower that some seed fall into good ground, while others in bad ground. It means not everything you give shall attract blessing.

You don't give, whereas you are angry with the giving idea.
Christianity EtcRe: Will I Be Making A Mistake By Becoming A Jehovah's Witness? by laribari(m): 4:32am On Mar 17, 2016
I'm going to repent all over a again if i join JW.
I don't discriminate because i have very close friends who are JW, as in very close but i just pray for them to see the light because they are in darkness, yet those are very god people. Unfortunately, no man is good according to Jesus because we can't achieve heaven by our works, so it doesn't matter what we offer, it just won't be good enough.

with regards giving, ...............No pastor will hold you at gun point to give any offering because that has to do with you and God. The key here is faith but baby Christians think they are giving to men.

Let me share some experiences i had recently.

I vowed that anywhere i come across a preacher of the gospel (who believe Jesus is God and in the holy ghost) i will always give my best offering (at that particular moment even on the bus) to the kingdom of God and sometimes i give as low as 200 ( for the records) pending on cash at hand at the moment without using atm and of course i have given more according to what my faith could carry.

The kingdom of God is about sowing and reaping, just like in any government today. Nations reap what they have sown and there is no escape route from poverty except you work your way out.

Talking about sowing to preachers, i have received some blessings i never expected because i sowed in faith.
There was a day i supported a preacher with 1k, at the end of that week or 2, i got 93k from a dead source.

another day, I sowed 1k and i had to walk some distance before of that. Though i had extra 9k with me but it was meant for a level only for me to arrived there paid just 3k instead of 9k. They told me they were running a promo and i got 6k back.

I told my friend about it but he called and investigated because he was interested in the discount but they told him there wasn't any promo running at the time. This was just 24hrs later. my friend asked individuals but he got same answer.

My point is that you are not going to give by force because that is totally up to you. IT IS WRITTEN............GIVE AND IT SHALL BE GIVEN UNTO YOU (IN MEASURES THAT YOU GIVE). some people's blessing will overflow by being pressed down and shaken together. The bible says MEN shall be the ones who will give them back and not as if they will work for it but the only work is faith. Understand it.

People do not give which is why most of them remain in poverty because going to church will not give you riches but there is a principle of prosperity in the bible.

You might think your success is down to your hard work alone but i have an advice especially for atheists.
Tell and dare God should remove His hand of blessing in your life for only a month and let's see how far you will come.
