You do have a point that our security forces are outnumbered but there are avoidable crimes that happen because they simply fail to do their job or they collude with criminals to extort those they are meant to protect.

Those checkpoints are means which the police/whatever force is handling those post use to enrich themselves.

For the police force, most of its officers has gone rogue, that's why they easily flout rules which their superiors give. The IGP has consistently said no police formation should enforce a check point unless on a mission but yet these officers flout it easy with little or no consequences. The IGP is from the system so he knows how the system works and the officers know too. There's no redemption for the police force.

Another thing is greed, Nigerians are terrible, greedy people who dont mind sabotaging a system that work just for personal aggrandizement.

No institution/system will work if the people there fail to do their damn job.
