But they have been marginalised for ages.
Just like our Igbo brothers and sisters in Southern Benue that occupy a whooping 4 local governments are so marginalised that most of Benue do not even know that there are indigenous Igbos in Benue.
So yes, our next governor Dr Tony Okechukwu Nwoye, will carry all tribes in Anambra along, whether Igala or Igbo!! Don't mind that joker. He is pretending to be unaware of the reality. May God help the Igalas in Anambra state. I don't trust any politician, though. Nwoye and co, are all birds of the same feather. |

meforyou1: The forfeiture is not permanent. Like for someone processing letter of administration, when u get it, u take it to the bank and link the account to your bvn and that's it, u start operating the account. For the man that said he had a joint account with his wife, who is now late, he can link the account to his own bvn, so that account will have bvn and wount even be forfeitted in the first place. Who told you the forfeiture is NOT permanent? What if all those forfeited funds are then transferred to TSA? How will the money be released to the beneficiaries of such accounts, when they eventually submit letters of administration to access their dead relatives accounts? |

7lives: Look who's talking now. Anyway as long as your people don't make the mistake of invading an inch of our homelands like they did in the past, Yoruba and Igbos have nothing in common. When exactly have Yoruba ever asked Igbos for support on anything?, Yoruba would rather fall back on old friends like Tapa, Ebira, Benin, Itshekiri, Uhurobo and so on. It's not as if Yoruba hate or look down on Igbos, it's JUST that you don't have what we need. Chimo! See finishing. Guy, don't even bother to give that chap any more answers. The Yoruba people have more allies at their fingertips, than the Igbo can ever hope to have, even if they clasp both hands together in supplication. |

Wrong analogy. Boko Haram's origins are from Islamic extremism. Boko haram killers and child rapists are now on an allowance...Let that permeate Wait first, Igbo's deserved compensation for going to war against their country Nigeria?? Politics › Re: Why Lagos May Collapse - Donald Duke by laudate: 7:29pm On Nov 04, 2017 |
PointB: My opinion.
Government is wise. Put everything in Lagos, and let us all empty our villages, towns, and other cities into Lagos! We've been asking for International Airport, Seaports, and other facilities in SE for ages, but some politicians want everything to revolve around Lagos. As far as every meaningful economic resources (Seaports, Airports, Embassies, Head Offices) are skewed towards Lagos, so would the people. Lagos may grow, and burst, but people will do as the government policy dictates; people will continue to migrate.
Hence, Chinedu and Chidi are on the way to Lagos tomorrow with their families, I'm sure Musa and Yaya are also on their way in similar fashion.
That's how successive government wanted it. So be it! See this joker. Onne port and Port-harcourt seaport are not enough for you. Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu is also there, as well as Port-harcourt Airport. For your information, embassies are only sited in the political capitals of countries, while consular offices are located in places where there is a preponderance of the citizens of the embassy's native country. So what is your problem? The problem is that Chinedu and Chidi do not always end up in Lagos, they also migrate to other Yoruba towns in the SW, such as Akure, Osogbo, Ado-Ekiti, Otta, Abeokuta etc. Do those towns have a seaport and an international airport too?? |

Politics › Re: Why Lagos May Collapse - Donald Duke by laudate: 7:20pm On Nov 04, 2017 |
PointB: This has nothing to do with governance of Lagos State, let alone APC or PDP - different sides of same coin! The fact stated is that government (successive FG) have failed to develop other parts of the country in favour of Lagos? Could be deliberate or as a result of scheming by South West politicians with naive connivance of their counterpart from other regions.
If Onitsha Seaport is functional, gazetted, and supported won't the pressure on Lagos Ports, roads and city reduce? If Enugu International Airport is given necessary support, won't that also reduce the influx of people to Lagos.
If government fail to make this happen, how can they reduce the pressure on Lagos? At this rate how won't Lagos continue to grow, and eventually by the seams like a supernova?
Yorubas should support and actively encourage the citing of economic resources and hubs in other cities (especially SE), that's the only to enjoy your Lagos. Until that is done, the scramble for Lagos will continue to it's detriment. It's a no-brainer. Which seaport does Onitsha have? Maybe you wanted to say Onitsha river port. And what kind of support should be given to Enugu airport, that it does not currently have? Don't forget that Stella Oduah was Aviation Minister under GEJ, and she could have changed the entire fortune of all the airports in the SE, if she wanted to do so, at that time. |

mapet: Do you have any proof that our "medical facilities" have ANYTHING to do with the condition of both(Tinubu's son & Ekwueme)? Tinubu's son was said to have been rushed to a general hospital in Lagos. Can you swear that he got prompt medical attention in that hospital, which could have prevented his death? Ekwueme was rushed to a private hospital in the SE. Thank God, his people took that option. It was probably because they were aware of the poor facilities that were on ground in the govt hospitals. If they had taken him to a govt hospital, only God knows if he would have survived. In Lagos state, St. Nicholas hospital - a private hospital - which has one of the best medical facilities in the country, only has spaces for 12 ICU patients. Which other hospital whether govt owned or privately owned, has such facilities? I leave you to do the maths. They had to turn a few critically ill patients back, in September this year, because they did not have additional facilities to take care of them. What does that tell you? The presence or absence of adequate medical facilities and skilled personnel, plays a great role in the recovery of patients. |

Once we realize that we can tackle the problem.
Also, where are the stats to support the claim that 750,000 people move to Lagos every year? Count the number of passengers that alight from luxurious buses coming from the SE, and coaster busrs from other parts of the country, who disembark at the various motor parks in Lagos, everyday. |

What kind of leadership do we have in Nigeria. I hate all Nigerian Politicians with passion, but why would I blame them, are they not picked from the population? Who presented the budget of 3 billion for Aso Rock clinic? Was it the Ministry of Health or some other ministry? That person needs to be probed. |

Funilly enough this medical facilities he so derieded has successfully stablised Ekweme and the news this morning is that he's out of coma. So I ask, what is his point? The difference between Nigeria and Netherlands, is that the patient in Netherlands has a fighting chance of survival, because the healthcare system in that country is better organised and skilled, responsive medical staff are available 24x7 to deliver adequate healthcare to such a patient. There are various equipment such as defibrillators to help jump start the heart, within arm's reach. In Nigeria, such a patient does not have access to all these things, even if he gets to a general hospital or govt owned medical facility. So he does not have the same chances of survival, that a patient in a Netherlands hospital has. |
