I have no love for IPOB either and I'm sure you're well aware of all the times IPOB and Kanu's devotees here have called me "Afonja" or "Efulefu". I still stand by saying irrespective of your IPOB dislike, you exhibit a wider anti-Igbo inclination. Apologies if I have misread that, but that is what seems apparent to me. I do not have a 'wider anti-Igbo dislike', like you have erroneously claimed. I only have an anti-IPOB dislike. And like I stated earlier, I have no apologies for doing so, based on their antecedents. I have also debunked several erroneous claims made by IPOB against other ethnic groups, too. |

Obi1kenobi: Thing is all your "debunking" always seems to be in favour of Yorubas though. I've never once seen you on any of the numerous threads where Igbos get attacked, and Lord knows there is no shortage of them all over this forum, doing this debunking. Instead, you even join in the ridicule. Which is why I was calling your objectivity into question. Since it's not a particular love for Yorubas, I'm guessing then you must have something against Igbos. Is that closer to the truth? Did you do a thorough content analysis of all my posts on this forum, before you came to this conclusion? I have made over 10,000 posts on NL, so I doubt if you have taken time to go through each one of them in detail. I have nothing against the Igbo, but I have a lot against IPOB (and their ilk, by whatever name they are called) and their hate-filled speeches, bile, degrading comments, insults and vitriolic remarks they have launched against various ethnic groups on this forum. So yes, I take them to task whenever they do so, and I make no apologies for it. If you interpret that to mean that I am against Nd'Igbo, then you are quite far from the truth. |

Of all the tallest 35 buildings listed as skyscrapers there, all are in Abuja or Lagos except that one in Ibadan. That's all fine and good that they have one. Congrats. No need to claim more than that.
By the way, you always say you're not Yoruba, but is there a particular reason you're a hardcore Yoruba cheerleader on any Igbo/Yoruba thread? Yoruba spouse? Yoruboid minority group? Guy, when was that Wikipedia list compiled? I do believe it is not totally accurate. So let me do some research and get back to you. What do you mean by I am a 'hardcore' Yoruba cheerleader? Is it because I have tried to debunk erroneous claims about them, or tried to highlight some of the good qualities they have, which I find interesting? I have also done that for a few other ethnic groups, too. I have lived, studied and worked in the SW, so maybe that explains why I know a lot about them. I am not married, so I do not have a Yoruba spouse, neither am I from a Yoruboid minority group (not sure what that means though!). I come from a very different minority ethnic group, but I have family members who have Igbo, Yoruba, Fulani, Igala, Edo, Bura, Gbagyi, Nupe and Efik spouses. I also have relatives that are drawn from other different ethnic groups. |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Please Find Attached My Resume: The Right Way To Say It by laudate: 1:29pm On Sep 28, 2017*. Modified: 3:06pm On Sep 28, 2017 |
froz: We all want our resumes and cover letters to leave a positive impression. As a result, most resume-writers spend a great deal of time focused on their skills, experience, and other critical details that showcase their qualifications. The goal, after all, is to present yourself as the best candidate for the job. Unfortunately, far too many job-seekers fail to address the minor details. For example, how do you note that you’ve included an attached resume to your application?
Whether you’re submitting a written job application, applying online, or using email, an attached resume is usually something employers expect to see. However, you should still include a brief sentence that lets the hiring manager know that it’s been sent. It’s considered both polite and proper.
It’s also one of those seemingly minor details that can help you to appear professional. Here are some examples of the worst ways to announce an attached resume, as well as some of the best options.
Please Find Attached My Resume – The Worst Option
Sadly, there are a whole host of bad ways to say, “Attached Resume” in a cover letter or email. Some are just grammatically incorrect, while others are antiquated holdovers from a bygone era. The following examples should be avoided at all costs:
Please find attached my resume
While many job-seekers still rely on this old grammatical construction, it sounds foreign to modern ears.
Please find attached: my resume
This alternate construction tries to get around the formality of the first choice by adding a colon to the mix. Unfortunately, that change in punctuation does not really make it sound any less stilted.
Please find, attached, my resume
This option is grammatically correct, but the added commas make the sentence even worse. It lacks the clarity that a more direct statement of fact could provide.
Please find attached resume
Some resume writers even go so far as to remove the possessive from the sentence. As you can see, it’s not an improvement.
There are probably hundreds of other examples of poor sentence construction, but you get the idea. Many job-seekers are so attached to the words “please find attached” that they never bother to consider how it sounds. Our best advice: forget about using those words in that order. There are better ways to express that idea.
Attached Resume: The Best Options
The fact is that there are many ways to mention that you’ve sent your resume along with a job application or cover letter. The key is to avoid archaic grammar and odd punctuation. You should also consider the direct approach. After all, you’re not writing a poem or the Great American Novel. Since the idea is to convey your qualifications in a direct manner, you should strive for maximum clarity. The following examples can help you accomplish that goal:
I have attached my resume for your consideration My resume is attached for your consideration I have included my resume for your review My resume has been included for your review That’s just a small sampling, of course. There are any number of alternatives that you could use to deliver that same message. The point is to avoid stilted, archaic sentence constructions that appear old-fashioned. Simplify your communication strategy, to ensure that your sentences are as clear and concise as possible. That can help you to avoid appearing outdated or unprofessional.
(You can also check out our post here on emailing a resume).
On the surface, concerns about how to mention your attached resume might seem minor. However, it’s small details such as this that often leave a lasting impression on potential employers. By taking the time to focus on these types of details, you can set yourself apart from the crowd. And that can help you to increase your chances of landing that dream job!
SOURCE: https://brandspurng.com/please-find-attached-my-resume-the-right-way-to-say-it/ Nansense!! All this is tautology, and a bunch of silly excuses put forward by lazy HR practitioners and recruiters, who do not want to do their jobs properly. As long as a resume is attached, a HR person is expected to go through it and review it for clarity, in order to determine if the candidate possesses the skills, expertise and experience necessary for the specified role. These days, there is an overdependence on HR software that skims a person's application in order to pick out buzzwords or specific phrases or words that correlate with the kind of expressions, the HR people want to see or hear. Instead of using the software as just an aid, they have relied upon it as a selection process to do their work for them. So simply because a person says "Please find attached my resume," you would then trash his application and the attached resume, just like that? As a HR person you could be missing out on hiring the most qualified person for the post. Just my 2 cents. |

Lagos state that was the focal point of Nigeria's activities since 1914 should not be in the same page as any other state the country. Take a cue from Abuja, do you see how different companies are erecting head offices here and there? If you have not been to Abuja, just go this weekend and see what is happening there. Point of correction. The guy made some assertions and I pointed out the fact that those assertions were not the only reasons why the SW was more developed.
