Simplyleo: Of course by default, such offer is for Muslims top scorers. Non Muslims have nothing to do with Islamic pilgrimage.
Besides, what exactly is your problem with the offer? Is it not a good way of encouraging students to be more dedicated to studies?
No sir, it is not! It would have made more sense for the hajj commission to offer the top scorers scholarships in their new universities.
article1: Rubbish! In as much that I'm a Muslim, I'm not in support of NAHCOM sponsoring young children to perform hajj just because they performed well in the UTME exams. These are young kids that some of there parents are struggling to pay their school fees and many of them are below the age of 18. The best they should have done for them is to give them scholarship to study in any of the University across the country, just as some banks have reportedly done.
What actually came to my mind when I saw one beautiful lady jogging alone early in the morning today in Badore road Ajah around 5am.
Even if you are going to jogging like that why not carrying about 2 muscular guys to follow you?
Exactly! It pays to be safe, rather than sorry. If you must jog, please do so within a gated estate that has active security men on patrol.
In that part of Sangotedo where the lady went missing, there are at least 4 gated communities and private schools with large grounds. She could have asked for permission to make use of their premises, or even driven to a gym to use their facilities.
Due to the kind of weird, inexplicable, unsafe things happening now, we all need to be wise and stop jogging along public roads!
Were we not in Lagos when the late Dimgba Igwe former editor of The Sun Newspapers was killed on September 6, 2014 by a hit-and-run driver near his Ago, Okota, Lagos residence, while he was out jogging?
Till today, the police have not caught the culprit!
ThierryJay: Your maturity is quite commendable. I admire the way you non-chalantly and humorously handled the barrage of criticism that came your way, without lashing out at anyone. Pls keep up this attitude bro.
I also understand your point of view in the context it was made. Because that is the most likely perception one would have of someone jogging along Lekki-Ikoyi axis. Yes, there might be a small section of joggers who do not fit into this category of well-to-do joggers, however, its is fact that majority of joggers within this environ are predominantly middle-class. Hence, I really do not understand the basis of the acidic attacks directed at you by Nairalanders.
By the way, I also enjoyed your vivid narratives.
Horlhamhi: yes, very commendable...with different bashing left, right, front, back and center. Let me join you and say, Jakumo, keep up this attitude sir.
Jakumo is an NL veteran. He has been on NL for almost 15 years, so he is used to the different shades of opinions that flow from different keyboards, in this community.....
He knows quite well that you cannot take NL respondents seriously, unless you want to die young.

ladiesreject: The investors will come, sure. But after a year or two they'll all run back to where they came from due to poor power supply to run their businesses.
They can't be running on fuel 24/7
Fix power, and see how that will change this country.
Not only will they run away due to poor infrastructure, but they will also run away due to bad & erratic policies of govt, insecurity and harassment by tax officials and communities asking for multiple, illegal levies.
How many foreign companies have closed down in Nigeria over the years? Several. Some of them just shift their operations to Ghana, where they are allowed to operate under a sane economic climate.
Were we not in Nigeria when one ridiculous fine of $ 5.2 billion USD was slammed against MTN, the other day?
Was it not inside this same Lagos last week, that Sanwo-Olu suddenly woke up and slammed an annual registration fee of 25 million naira on bike hailing companies like MAX and Gokada? How much are the firms making, sef?
The average investor will come in and see how you treat your own local investor like crap, and you think he will want to stay??
martineverest: she work for her money..she is a newscaster on ait
How much are exactly do newscasters earn on AIT??
martineverest: she has been working for almost 20 years there....even if she's paid at least 250k monthly for 20 years, won't that be enough?..she's a senior news caster
And she will not pay rent or utilities, or even medical bills in all those 20 years? What makes you think newscasters earn up to 250k?? Even if she earns that now, was she was earning that amount 5 or 10 years ago??
Naijafull19: There is a reason why the Hebrew women were 'delivering fast'...the fact was they were doing a lot of work as slaves..which exercised their bodies...which made them to deliver faster and more easily.
It is suggested that pregant women do some (not too strenous though) exercise for easier delviery, and quicker delivery.
No they were not delivering fast ...it was an excuse cooked up by the Egyptian midwives to protect those Hebrew women.
Naijafull19: NHIS covers CS, as does PHIS...plus some state governments offer the op free...
Which NHIS? There are different medical plans under NHIS, o! And many private hospitals in Lagos, will tell you that the cheapest plan does not currently cover CS, even though the advert or leaflet says so. Fees for many services are pegged under NHIS.
BackToLife: This post is derogatory, intentionally to ridicule Christianity and Christian faith. Mohammedan head slammer OP, if they chose to risk their life for their faith, wetin concern you? They are at least better than your directionless crew that suicide bomb innocent beneficial and useful Souls. You should know that everybody would surely die afterall, even some that do the CS, that you are praising and using as a ground to ridicule their faith here, still die during the operation.
Are you normal? We are talking about maternal mortality and needless deaths that could have been avoided, if only such pregnant women had taken medical advice! And you are misinterpreting it as an attack on Christianity!
How myopic is that? Even the verse on which they base their faith, turned out to be a lie that the Egyptian midwives gave as feedback to the king, in order to protect the pregnant Hebrew women from being killed!
A religious organisation that insists on pushing people to get married is a match-making organisation.
A woman or man should be able to make their choices with guidance from Holy Spirit not a man.
Another thing is that a man should be able to provide basic amenities for his proposed family, not extravagantly - food, shelter, etc. Worst case scenario, the husband and wife should combine and fund these.
When God is truly in a marriage, provision is never a problem. In-laws are not expected to have any financial input into a marriage.
My wife rejects her mothers food.
Your wife is doing yanga. I wish her luck. She has failed to realise that her mum is not offering her food, because her mum thinks she is broke, but because her mum is simply expressing motherly love to her daughter.
A day will come when her mum will no longer be on this side of eternity to pamper her. My grandmother used to do the same, and I used to reject it. Until an elderly neighbour opened my eyes to see that it was wrong.
Then I started collecting the food, but made sure to give my grandma adequate cash in return, anytime I visited her. After she died, I used to miss her, wishing she could just wake up and cook her delicious meals again, for me....
See your life? You do not even understand the meaning of the word "manufacturing."
You were asked to provide the meaning of a word, instead you just copied and pasted the link. And you think you are intelligent?
Now compare the dictionary meaning of that word, with the context in which you used the same word, in your first post. Then you will see how you goofed. Now, pack your bags and disappear. I don't have time to keep giving you free tutorials.
freemi: haha oh so because i didnt type my words in full spelling? Wait o how old are you? Must b a jobless teen. This is my last response. I should have known
See this one...you have been typing gibberish for the past few minutes, using words and phrases that make little or no sense like a deluded teenager trying to feel hip, and now you are turning round to call someone more intelligent than you are, a teen? Let me laugh very well first....!
The man said what you people wanted to hear. And you all fell for it.
He wants more subjects for his kingdom. Can't you see he has succeeded in getting people like you to now see him as your lord and master? Now bow down and kiss the Ooni's feet. Since Kanu has abandoned you lot for the Ooni to take over your destiny....
Nicerazor: Lol I worked with Silverbird cinemas for 4 years and I was the assistant business manager for festac branch before putting pen to paper and salaries were paid regularly sir.
Really? Ask those who work for his media arm, both TV and radio. Their stories are very different.
freemi: u cnt undastnd or write mo than m. Even tho der cnbine ur type 5. I ve given u instances. .nw boldly tel m samsung n iphone r nt phone manufacturers n i wil apologise to u
Didn't I say you flunked English language in school? You just proved me right with the gibberish you typed up here....
Nicerazor: How do you know he doesn’t pay staff salaries regularly? Don’t say what you don’t know just to gather likes . All I know is baba too de make mouth.
I have friends and neighbours who work with him. I have also down business with his media group in the past. Doest answer your question??
sulasa07: Its The Nigerian mentality.Even the Nigerian made android phones are not available on Jumia and Konga.
If Naija made phones were made available on Konga there would be a high level of returns, due to disatisfaction with the product. Reliability and ruggedness do not exist in the dictionary of most Naija-made phones....
The few that were sold in the past on Konga and Jumia, like Solo etc did not come back online to restock their inventory with the e-commerce firms. Only goodness knows what happened.
By posting his comments here, you have just shown he is your lord and saviour. I guess you need a new leader now that Kanu ran away and abandoned you lot. That is why you are now running after everything the Ooni says.
freemi: dictionary meaning of manufacture n do wt wit it? Y nt deal wt my realistic meaning. Samsung, iphone etc. .so u wl cll em assemblers since der dnt manufacture al d parts em self. Ur dictionary meaning is d reason pple like u r draggin us back in technology
Even the way you write, shows that you have nothing upstairs. It is obvious you got an 'F' in English language in school. Oya, for the last time provide the meaning of the word 'manufacturing' before you come back here to post another silly response like you just did.
kYjelly2: lol, no one said it was a priority bruv!
Bruce only buying EVs for his company in no way impedes the government from tacking all you mentioned above. I believe these two issues are mutually exclusive.
Seriously though, don't be so pessimistic in regards to EVs, they are part of a future that is INEVITABLE!
Ben Murray Bruce is just playing to the gallery with his statement. The same man who pays irregular salaries to his staff? The official vehicles in his company's fleet are less than 5 and are badly maintained. And they are all Tokunbo.
If Femi Otedola had said this, I would have taken it seriously because he has the clout and ability to deliver, when it comes to such things.
Buying EVs is an unnecessary distraction and a waste of scarce foreign exchange, that could be diverted to more important causes.
And if hybrid cars and natural gas/LPG fuelled cars are yet to gain traction in Nigeria, despite all the hype built round them, and the awareness that has been going on for over 10 years in Nigeria, is it EV cars that now wants to gain ground?
Abeg, let people focus on more important issues like healthcare, education, security challenges, infrastructure etc.
