Yorubas who have never fought Nigeria think that Igbos who fought Nigeria for 3 years are cowards? People who cant even lift a stick to fight think that those who took up arms and fought for 3 years are cowards?

Yorubas just make me laugh, they are the only people in the world who think bravery is about making noise rather than action

If you had read about the battle for Lagos in 1851, you would see how Oba Kosoko held his turf against the British Royal Navy led by Commander Forbes in November that year. Kosoko successfully repelled the attacks launched by the British that November.

The British regrouped and launched a second attack the following month using superior fire power. They were able to overpower Kosoko's forces because they now had 3 gun boats and more ammunition. The battle was fierce and lasted for 3 days, but the British suffered heavy casualties in the process, before they could overpower Kosoko's forces.

You are slowly getting my drift. The issue does not end in asking God for forgiveness. Did he commit it?

True forgiveness starts from recognising that you made a mistake, confessing it, then working towards never repeating that mistake again..Has he for one minute apologised to the persons who accused him?

Did he apologise to Ese Walter? He promised a robust reply....it never came 7 or more years later, another accusation came forth...3 accusations actually. Is it that these women hate him? Or is it that this has been his secret lifestyle?

It will get to a point that a woman will bring a child accusing him of being the father. He needs to genuinely repent, before he can seek forgiveness. Besides, he didn't say he did it, so why the issue of forgiveness?

You can see how he employed the police to harass the Dakolos...that would even make matters worse. When you're innocent of an accusation, you are not desperate to prove anything. The proves comes naturally by default.

Conversely, when you are guilty, you start manipulating people and or institutions to back you. Listen, as long as he takes his members and the public for a ride, the real forgiveness will elude him. Of course, to a reasonable extent he can manipulate persons to speak and defend him, but can he also manipulate the Almighty God?
Hmmnn....this is deep!

2. Debit card, not "ATM card". After all, you use it on other terminals that are not ATMs.

3. If it is an on-us transaction (your card-your bank), then your bank (irrespective of the branch) should give you your debit card immediately.

4. If it is a remote-on-us transaction (your card- another bank), the other bank owes you nothing. Direct your grievance to CBN.

5. I agree with you, it is a very harsh decision. I wonder what they were thinking, I wonder their reason too. I will ask around.

6. This is 2019, it is not a herculean task to get a debit card. Banks have instant cards, they can even emboss your "guy name" on it for you. grin

People that do not summon courage to shout in the bank, how do you people do it? The best place to create scene is in the bank.

First Bank got a share of my anger last year with this ATM card issue.
If it happens after closing hours, what will you do? Nothing. The security men do not have the keys to the ATM, so they would not be able to help even if you shout from today till tomorrow.

And if you show up the next working day, the only time they can release that card to you, is if it is your bank's ATM that trapped your card. If it another bank's ATM, forget it. It will not be given back to you because of the CBN directive.

There is a huge probability that you would have gotten a great job in Nigeria if you actually equipped yourself with the several IT certifications including the US 6 month IT course certification as well as experience you garnered if you applied. I am also 100% sure that you would NOT have gotten that job if you applied with only your 3rd Class Nigerian Degree.

So, when you come here to castigate the system, understand that the job you got there, had nothing to do with your 3rd class, and for sure, that cant give you a job in US.

Best bet for people who graduated with not-so-good level is to be employers, and I have seen so many drop outs and 3rd class/pass graduates becoming super rich, because they knew their degree is not worth presenting, the only thing they have left to wager life is their will power and hard and smartwork.

Do not misrepresent facts based on your feelings.
He is NOT misrepresenting facts. He is merely sharing his experience from his perspective. What is wrong with that? And how can you castigate him, by accusing him of misrepresentation? shocked

I have met Nigerian HR managers who would overlook professional certifications, only to continue harping on the class of your degree or your low grades.

The interview I went through in order to land the first job I got with a multinational firm in Nigeria, was conducted by an expatriate. wink

The man was only interested in the IT skills I had, and was not bothered about my first degree or what class of degree I had. I was more interested in showing him my top grades via my valuable degrees, but he ignored it. sad

Ironically, the IT certificate he relied upon to hire me, was issued at a free training course sponsored by an NGO, which I had attended about a month before the interview. undecided

There were no HR softwares for sifting through CVs in those days, so I guess I was lucky.

Don't be funny. Didn't you read about where he said he had financial difficulties and was unable to attend some classes?

The course system is used in Nigeria.

Continuous assessment and attendance carries 40% while exams are 60%.

Now, if he was unable to make up the attendance & continuous assessment bit, don't you realise it would be difficult to get top marks in the entire course?

He would only have the remaining 60% marks to be awarded in the exams, to play with.

Then comes renowned public hospitals that charge between #50-#120k for the same CS and you still get value for money.

Except you're so rich and very rigid in movement, spending #500k on CS is ignorance in Nigeria.
Oga, you forget that the renowned public hospitals are also renowned for a lot of shortcomings. And they also have a high failure rate.

A relative of mine had to undergo an operation in a 'renowned' public hospital 2 years ago, and it was highly stressful and difficult. angry

If a patient does not have family members to run around and arrange everything from drugs to surgical dressings to blood, such a patient might just end up being abandoned or his condition might worsen, despite the money you paid for admission and the surgical procedure. shocked

I had to bring people from outside to donate blood, before the consultants agreed to even give a date for the surgery.

I had to arrange with someone to clean the communal toilet used by the patient, anytime he had to use it as the hospital cleaners were nowhere to be found on many occasions.

Please note that even if the so-called renowned public hospitals charge lower fees for CS, the wahala that comes with it, especially when it comes to providing care for the patient, is huge!

Particularly on the jobs creation and inter-state transportation and leisure cruises, YES!

Even before the boating clubs Aworis used to have boat regalia competitions on the waterfront from Idumagbo to Marina and back to Idumagbo.
That, with the foreigners water sports, hopefully will reignite activities and improve tourist interests....which ties back in to your point on job growth and income, even if seasonal at best!
Exactly! cheesy The Lagos Yacht Club also used to organise a few races once in a while in the past, but it was not well publicised.

I believe Lagos State urgently needs to put in place a water transportation system from Marina to Okokomaiko, that will go through Mile 2, and Orile waterside all the way to Ajangbadi. undecided

If they are able to do that within the shortest possible time, it will provide an alternative source of transport to those who live along the Lagos - Badagry axis, who face nightmares anytime they have to go by road. sad

No sir, not ignorance. That is the fee charged by quite a number of different private hospitals in Lagos.

You would not expect a hospital like Reddington in Victoria Island, to charge the same fee for CS as a federal medical centre in Yaba or Ajangbadi.

If a pregnant woman registers with a particular private hospital for ante natal, and their services are quite good, she might feel that it would be a risk to go to another hospital charging a lower fee for CS, since she would not be able to rate their services....

Licensing on Jetties and storage
Taxation on leisure and luxury water crafts

Do the boating clubs still host water sports leisures and competition? That would be another source of income, depending on its regularity.
Vodacom used to sponsor the Hobbie Cat Water Craft race on the Lagos lagoon over 10 years ago. I don't know if they still do so. In those days, expatriates and Nigerians working with Elder Dempster, AP Moller, Panalpina and other shipping companies used to compete in a race on the lagoon, using various types of boats. It was fun. cheesy

It was not just a good way to unwind, they also used the event to showcase different models &brands of boats, in addition to raising money for charity. wink

In different parts of the world, waterfront property is the most exclusive type and yields a lot in terms of property taxes for govt.

The waterside jetties also host some of the best restaurants, pubs and outlets that specialise in fine dining and seafood. cool

If our waterways and waterside properties are well developed, they can turn into a money spinner for govt and create a whole new set of jobs for the maritime industry. sad
