Lalasticlala And you still have Nigerians who would not marry from another tribe because of their deep-rooted insecurity and myopic views. mtcheew. See how these people allowed love to enter the boat of their lives, and take them to the harbour of bliss. May God continue to keep this couple together, in good health and prosperity. And all the people said.....Amen!! |

Whether they lack courage or not, how does it add value or fresh funds to your pocket? You will just end up developing hypertension. Ok, let your own people start the fight first, and see if other ethnic groups would follow suit. If they do, then you can give yourself a medal. Is that a deal? Me, I will just stand in this corner and do referee for una! Oya, let the games begin!! |

ofai: Some yorubas are still hinging on the post civil war recent past to make up their "most educated group" stance. They still make noise about the erudite wole soyinka 1986 Nobel prize award and ekiti number of professorships.
This is 2017, check these out:
1. Bennett Omalu, the renowned igbo pathologist who discovered CTE disease was given the highest medical award in America in 2016. He now has dual citizenship of Nigeria and the US. He is from Anambra state.
2. Samuel Achilefu, the renowned biomedical scientist who invented CANCER SEEING GOGGLES. In 2014 he was awarded the prestigous St Louis award. His currently enjoys several international grants. He is an Abia man.
3. In 2016, Kalu Ogbureke, a maxiofacial surgeon, was the FIRST MAN OF AFRICAN DESCENT TO be awarded the KING JAMES IV PROFESSORSHIP CHAIR. He is from Abia State. He is an immigrant in US but works in the UK as well.
These are recent prestigious awards given to igbos, not dating before 2012.
Back home, IMO STATE has overtaken EKITI in the HIGHEST number of professorships in Nigeria.
ABIA STATE Now dominate WAEC results, overtaking ANAMBRA state.
ENUGU and ANAMBRA STATE follows in terms of professorships.
EBONYI STATE has maintained to a large extent a strong rivalry for the top WAEC states in Nigeria. No, you don't want to go down this road. Not here. The Yoruba people too have a lot of their sons and daughters, who have recorded a lot of 'firsts', in their respective fields! Do your own research, before you come in here to blow the trumpet of your people. I will sit on the fence and act as a referee! |

AFONJACOW: you are just envy of the young man.. even stupid cowardice Awolowo can't pull such attention in his lifetime... Yorubas lack the strenght to challenge the North and this is sheer cowardice. In 1966, Northern elements went to Ibadan and slaughtered Lt Col Fajuyi who was Military Governor of the Western Region. Yorubas did nothing 20 years later, again the Northerners abduct and slaughter the Yoruba nations brightest political star, Chief MKO Abiola. Again, the Yoruba nation could do nothing. Three different times, the North has chased out a Yoruba man from his rightful place as head of state, Brigadier Ogundipe, MKO Abiola and Shonekan. Yorubas could do nothing. A few thousand Northern Soldiers held the entire Yoruba land and the western Region hostage when they killed Lt Col Fajuyi and chased Brigadier Ogundipe and brought a much junior Lt Col Gowon to take over. Yoruba reaction to this desecration of their land was to meekly accept the North as their lord and master. The North has poked the eye of the Yoruba nation many times, Yorubas have never done anything. Of the three main ethnic groups, only Yorubas have never taken their destiny in their hands an attempted secession. Yorubas are also the only zone in southern Nigeria who have never taken up arms against Nigeria. All these historical events leads me to the conclusion that Yorubas are cowards. Na wa, o! The 'juju those Yoruba people cooked for you must be really potent, that is why you started throwing tantrums, and devoted a long epistle to their matter. Ndo. Do you need panadol to cure the headache you developed on their behalf, or should I get you some tablets of Nurofen? Which one do you prefer??

Before we speak English, check out how many people missed out this information between 2009 and 2017.
Those people needed it more when the information was released. It is sad. You totally missed the point I made in my last post. It is not about the date, but the message. Is the message in that post, still valid or relevant? Can people learn anything from it? Are you saying people do not need the information in that post, today? In 2009, maybe it never made front page because it was buried somewhere amidst the avalanche of new threads being opened on a daily basis. But today, someone has fished it out, and used it as a basis for making further contributions on NL. Mods may have pushed it to FP because of newer contributions made by recent posters, and not because the thread was opened in 2009. Kindly free your mind, please.... |

deepwater: A September 17th, 2009 post making front page in September 10, 2017
Kill an imaginary snake Now in five minutes the world would be aware we have killed another one courtesy FP Nairaland.
Seun is this your dream, or you have lost control over this cyber space
Even this post is being considered FP worthy just because I mentioned snake in it Don't look at the date of the post. Look at the points raised in the post. Are they still valid today, or have things changed? If they have changed, in what way have those changes been made, or what shape have those changes taken? Our problem as a people, is that we do not conduct enough research and we do not track history. And those who do not learn from the past, are condemned to repeat it, in the words of George Santayana. Sometimes, the more things change, the more they stay the same. Its a paradox. On a different social platform, someone took a post made in 2007 and used it as a background to narrate changes that have taken place in his industry. And from the various perspectives of those who contributed on that forum, a lot of knowledge was shared, and many lessons were learnt. |
Politics › Re: `ipod The Enemies Fo Indi Igbo By Dr. Nicky Okoye. by laudate: 8:38am On Sep 10, 2017 |
momonny: Dr Nicky Okoye:
These debates I continue to read on Igbo forums and Igbo platforms are very nauseating and it says a lot about the level to which a majority of our Igbo people have fallen... The Igbo Nation to which I belong seems to me to be drifting badly. As we now see enemies everywhere. We now complain and complain and complain. We cry and cry and cry, we bicker and bicker and bicker. We are now agitators aa if any person or group or persons or society became successful by agitation. Once a list is produced from Government we start looking for Igbo names. Once a list of retirees is released we start shouting if there are igbo names. Even DANGOTE a private man running a private company is taken to task by Igbos because non of his factories are in Igbo land. Nobody is asking Coscharis why his car manufacturing plant is in Lagos but Dangote must build his sugar plant in Onitsha over 1000 km from the sugar Cain farms. For those of you who care to listen I have news for you
1. No one is going to offer you anything for FREE. YOU can cry and cry and complain all day long if you want to. The guarantee you will get is that they will give you more things to CRY about. So if you don't like the situation then use your money, your resources and your capacity to build up your own land and your own people. If you don't want to do this but prefer to keep crying then you are out of luck. PLEASE READ *WHO MOVED MY CHEESE* this book sums up the Igbo situation in Nigeria today.
2. As the book I recommended says ....... *THE CHEESE HAS MOVED* So move with the cheese. If you sit and cry as IPOB AND their supporters are doing you get nothing. Keep up amd keep crying *WHO MOVED MY CHEESE* and guess what, nobody cares for a grown man that is a *CRY BABY* NATURE, the Universe and its Kingdoms has a set of rules and it is *survival of the fitest* the LION will always seek out gazelles or antelopes to feast on. It's not because they hate the gazelles but it is because they MUST survive, and the lions must feed their children. If the gazelle sits down crying all day that the lion would not stop eating him and his family he will surely get eaten next. In fact the weak gazelles get eaten first. And anyone in business knows that human nature follows these same rules. My advise to the few Igbos that still have a thinking faculty ...... *don't let these IPOB people take away your determination to succeed.* If you start thinking like them you are doomed. They are already doomed and since *misery loves company* they will be happy taking you down with them.
3. The rise of IPOB AND it's hate mongering has made it highly improbable for the Igbo to build a nationwide coalition in Nigeria any time soon. The hate and fear spread by IPOB and it's leader NNAMDI Kanu has returned to us as Igbos ten folds. As Sonny says *_Every Action brings with it an equal and opposite reaction_* However I think the reaction towards us snd our people in the future will be unequal as it will be far worst and spread over tens of years. We may indeed have sealed the *FATE* of the younger Igbos coming after us ( _or should I say they sealed their own fate as they are the ones supporting IPOB_) and they may indeed need a new NATION ( Biafra or whatever they want to call it when the time comes ) in the future to contend with the backlash Igbos will experience from the people we have poured out all these HATE messages, HATE speeches and the ethnic agenda of IPOB.
4. The ethnic agenda and ethnic politics of IPOB and some misguided Igbo elders can only back fire. Ethnicity has no place in the modern World of the 21st century. This century is being run and directed by innovation and it will be shaped by three technologies A. *Nano Technology* B. *Artifical Intelligence* C. *Digital Connectivity* There is nothing in these three that says anything about your tribe or your religion or your language or your ethnicity. IPOB and it's supporters the ones here on this platform and out there are playing a loosing game. It's like a game of basket ball in which the basket is on the court and IPOB has the ball running towards the stream miles away to throw the ball into the water. They think that will win them the game. But unfortunately they are way way off.
I find it hard to hold conversations with the unintelligent people running IPOB and their supporters. So I don't expect them to understand this message. This message is NOT for them. It's for those Igbos who still have a brain and can use it to think.
There is an old saying that goes .... *You cannot discuss Rocket Science with a bunch of monkeys, because all the monkeys want to do and talk about is how to get the next batch of bananas* I rest my case I hereby nominate this piece, as the best post of the month!! Can we have a round of applause for this gentleman?

Priscy01: A young Nigerian guy who survived a ghastly accident but not scot-free as he sustained 2nd degree burns, has shared his horrifying story.
Nigerian student Jerry Chikezie, has recapped his horrific yet amazing survival story following a ghastly motor accident, alongside photos of his recovery.
He shared on his Facebook page: "Viewer’s discretion is adviced. I’m sorry for the gory pictures, I just can’t express my gratitude to this God; the unchanging changer, everlasting redeemer, beginning n the end, the One whose word remains forever. I am a product of grace, a walking miracle, a highly favoured son. Do u want to know if God exists? Then take a look at me.
Some doctors gave me 48hrs; some 3 weeks but what do they know? I survived a ghastly motor accident with 2nd degree burns; severe head injury; carbon inhalation; multiple fractures, i was bedridden for over 4 months, underwent 3 major surgeries within 8 months, was on crutches for over a year.
Let’s not even talk about the humongous hospital bill and how it was paid. The devil brought out his full arsenal but here i am today telling my story myself. Sorry for the long epistle but i just couldn’t help it. Look at all he has done in my life, now telling me what you’re going through that you think is too big for my Jehovah.
I know the pictures are messy but if u feel the need to share this post please do. You dunno whose faith u might be strengthening. Never give up the fight (don’t give the devil the joy of conquest), keep on keeping on, God is still God, He never changes"
http://www.torimill.com/2017/09/doctors-gave-me-48hrs-to-live-but-look.html What an awesome God! This is nothing short of a miracle, bro.' I praise God for your life. May affliction never rise again a second time, in your life and family. May you continue to live long and not die, to declare the glory of God in the land of the living! |

Daboomb: I think they are just naturally eccentric people, too arrogant to use their brains, to short-sighted to strategise for positive long-term outcomes and basically suicidal, just to prove they are brave!
How a whole nation of people dont get it that "accepting a bail condition, to get your temporary freedom and then flouting those conditons without a court variation, would get you back to prison" is beyond comprehension.
How can a whole Nation of people numbering over 30million, not understand that simple process? What can they do when Fed Govt re-arrest kanu? Maybe take up arms against the Nigerian Armed Forces? What would be the result of that if not self annihilation? What would the U.N do in such circumstance if not say 'you crossed the line'?
Yet they go about issuing stupid threats? I just give up on these Yiibos. Hmmn.... this is serious! Someone should advise Kanu to be careful, pls! I personally do not want anything to happen to him. Otherwise, how will his people get their Biafra? Maybe it has been written in his destiny, that Kanu would beat Mandela's incarceration record. I mean, tough times don't last, but tough people do! |

So she has no case here, and cannot lie that she did not know about Sandra How interesting! You are laying the blame on Anna, and exonerating Flavour for his part in the whole mess. The same Flavour that knew Sandra was pregnant for him, is the same person that hopped into bed with Anna. What exactly did Anna know about Sandra? Did she tell you anything directly? Like I said before, do you know what fake stories he fed Anna about his relationship with Sandra? If his relationship with Sandra was so serious, why didn't he get engaged to her or marry her? Most of the time, what has been fed to the public may not be the actual truth, or the correct picture....! |
