First thing u should do is to change ur mindset. See yourself as an independent adult, not the parents dependent student u were in school. U are now responsible for ur actions and inactions. Then this is the time for u to start registering on career portals online. Make a list of companies u would like to work in, visit their career page and register your profile there pending when they start hiring. Make a plan of how your CV should look like, start learning how to write CV if u haven't done so. Make a plan on at least one or two skills u can acquire during service year, depending on ur field. Search info on these skills and what they entail. Start reaching out to ANY INFLUENTIAL PERSON you know who can probably facilitate ur getting a job. Be very close and communicate regularly with them as getting a job in the country is very easy when u know someone. I don't advice u to stay in the village. If you have someone in the city u can stay with, move out of that village cos u cant see any opportunity in the village. Try to save as much money as you can from ur allawee, it will come handy after ur service when u will need to run around for interviews and other stuffs. Hope this helps. |
These are the kind of people that should be groomed and empowered to become our future President, Senators, Ministers and Governors, not touts who were fortunate to know someone who knows someone. We have many sharp brained youths like this all over the country who would have assumed the mantle of leadership of this country. But who would give them a chance? What we have are old, dying grand fathers and great grand fathers manning even Ministries of youth and Sports. When then will that leaders of tomorow come to pass? Even the youths themselves fight on social media for these old men who have sold their future. Nigerian youths wake up! |
That's exactly what is earning her the money-Gossip and yeye news. If she didn't put up the bag story, would u be talking about her to ur millions of followers? No! So she has to say something in order to expand her popularity and increase her earnings. Smart girl. |

oglalasioux:The OP was definitely wrong in that he failed to heed to the advice of his superior even after being told what to do. But in this case, the right thing to do would have been to deduct one day pay from his salary with a query or verbal warning, and not shutting him out of the workplace and slapping him. His boss had that effrontery to do what he did because he probably have successfully done same to other employees. However, the Op was right in not retaliating but taking the legal course. |

wizKID should look for his mates to play with. This his attention seeking is becoming unbecoming. Is it possible to call urself a celebrity and people wont write or say things about u? He's not the first, he wont be the last. |
Kookny:Bertola is very real. I know their branches at Anthony and Lekki. They deal in machine parts. |
Obviously there are lots of opportunities there, but you cant possibly do all those stuffs alone. So its better you try and get a partner, whether in the school or outside. You can liaise with colleagues or get partners outside. This is to avoid relegating your main goal to the background in the pursuit of money. |
Is there any week that this man doesn't travel? What is the meaning of this? |
It is always good to invest in assets rather than exotic cars and mansion in Banana island. |

browncolysis:Same way some people have waited for months after quitting their job. It all boils down to the level of responsibility one has. A person that is responsible for taking care of others needs cannot just quit his job like that. There are bad bosses everywhere, u cant keep running away from them even when u don't know where u are running to. If she's not yet experienced, then she should stay and gain more experience. That will facilitate her ability to get a new and better job if she's lucky. The easiest time to get a job is when u are in a job. |
Let me advise u a bit, cos it seems u are very confused. There is no guarantee whatsoever that u are gonna get a new job if u quit, even if u happen to be lucky and get, what is the guarantee that ur boss will be the type u dream of? Unless u wanna quit and have ur own business which is still risky cos u might not have the skills and patience required. Forget all the noise about entrepreneurship, it is not as easy as people put it. Ur boss might be difficult I understand. But does he still pay u as at when due? Are there people still working under him beside u? Is it just about nagging and complaining or does she physically abuse u i.e beating or slapping u? If u still get ur pay and she doesn't beat u and there are still people working in that office, then I believe u can still stay. Pending when u have an alternative. The issue is u are taking it too personal and I believe u are an emotional person. If u can just focus on delivering ur services the best way u can and not think about her rantings, u will be just fine. |
But is the world not wild? |
cupidhero:It means "God has done exactly what I asked Him". 100% Igbo name. |
I can relate to this. But do u have a plan B? |
Saying thank you is like a reflex action whenever u receive something. Just reason how it would be if u collected ur salary from ur boss and just walked out. |
Kamsi is a unisex name, just like Chinedu. My niece bears it. |
Philadelphia:U should focus on scaling through the test first, before u get concerned about benefits. Believe me, Mckinsey PST is one of the toughest job tests in the world. |
caramel403:See what I said? I once waited for 8 months before I got a call to start work. Just get ur mind off it and continue ur hustle. |
Simple. They have queued you up pending when there will be a vacant position for the role u applied for. I would advice u to continue searching for an alternative as the keeping in view might take months. |
deewhone19:Talent Bureau is real. Go for your test. |
