The person nominated by Trump was accused of rape by a totally apolitical woman, she came forward to testify before the senate judicial committee, but despite several pleas by Democrats Trump never allowed an FBI investigation to be conducted. The man was eventually confirmed by the GOP- majority senate, it was a total hoax and a shame on the woman. Trump is a known abuser of power and this impeachment is just a way of getting back for his past, present and even the future misdemeanors.

so because a certain woman just comes up and accuses Brett Kavanaugh of rape means he did it? Why does the woman have to come up all of a sudden when he is about getting the best moment of his life? What happened before the moment? So you haven't reasoned that the democrats may be using it to get back at the Republicans for:
1. Remember during Obama tenure when the senate majority refused confirming the then judge nominee.
2. Due to the fact they hate trump and havent gotten over the last election, so they believe anything that comes from his hands is crooked.
In conclusion, the democrats might have paid off the woman to pin him down with rape accusations remember this is politics. So trump being a wise man knew the democrats plan was to allow the FBI investigate Kavanaugh, with that it lingers for a long time even till the end of trumps term. So it's a perfect payback for the democrats.
It also gives them the avenue to render the Supreme Court without head thus making his impeachment a perfection.

It doesn't matter to call out the whistle blower in this circumstance, someone accused you of putting national security in danger for personal gain and then invited some witnesses within your rank for questioning, why can't you let the house question the witnesses if you know your hand is clean, there are also some documents that are being requested regarding the meeting between Trump and the Ukrainian president, so why can't you provide all this evidence if you know you've done nothing wrong? It is like the police invited you for questioning after an allegation and you declined. Constitutionally, the house is powered with the oversight function to scrutinize the policy of the president, so there is nothing illegal in what they have done. We all know Trump did pressure the Ukrainian president to open an investigation over Joe Biden son, Hunter. And this is similar to the Russia's email scandals with Clinton during the last election.

Police questioning and this are two different scenarios, he knows its not going to be a fair trial since it's democrats initiated. How can you fairly try someone majority of the democrats never hid their hatred for? Since they accused him of doing the deed why not show the evidence for the whole world to see and shame him? Oh! I guess they have none.
You can't say you are sure of trump pressuring the Ukrainian president to investigate Biden son when you were not there at least not when you have no proof at sight. If I'm trump I won't honor such hearing without substantial proof at sight. It's an eye for an eye.
I know you don't like trump but try to be reasonable and look at it from a different perspective for once.

Fair trial is for senate to allow the witnesses to testify and their claims investigated if possible by the FBI before casting their votes, that's what Nancy Pelosi is demanding and the reason for holding on to the articles of impeachment.

and why should trump allow the witness to testify when they can't provide evidence or the so called whistle blower during the trial for questioning. Why should he comply to their sham, kangaroo court order built on baseless hearsay? Everything was premeditated and calculated not to favor trump forget all their saying about protecting national interest.
This same court refused the coverage of fox News and other so called pro trump media.
This same court brought in 3 democrats apologist law professors to Republicans 1.
Everything has been planned fro the onset not to favor trump.

maybe to create avenue for negotiation. The whistle blower or evidence for the chief of staff. Who knows the chief of Staff maybe under pressure to go against him maybe using a valuable asset to him as a threat, no one knows what the democrats are up to. They refused a fair trial.

the accusations against him are baseless. Imagine, abuse of power and obstruction of congress like what da heck? First of all there's no evidence against him, the Ukrainian president a vindicated him saying no pressure of any sort ( whether true or lie) but he has made a speech so his opinion should be accepted.
How come the impeachment only came on the abuse of power? What happened to obstruction of congress?
Of course it's high time the real ordinary people gets to decide how the government should be run instead of selfish and corrupt elites corrupting the media with bias.
What Happened to the whistle blower requested by the Republicans? Why should white house agreeing on releasing already biased, bought over and sham of ex appointees who are still pissed with being relieved of their duties to come and testify against their most hated boss?

I agree with you, especially on the selfishness of politicians. I admire Donald Trump for his resilience and surviving many battles including the 2016 elections and the Stormy Daniels case. Those who fight him seem to fade into oblivion or end up in prison or even shamed. However, Donald Trump has a VERY volatile temperament. He talks too much and seems very petty. However, he seems favoured (we cannot discountenance this), and I would say he should have the mannerism of a Mike Pence, and stop fighting everyone. My point is that if the voting is secret ballot, the Republican Party machinery may decide to sacrifice him to protect themselves and their seats in future elections.

Even though Trump survives this impeachment, it would take a toll on the Republican Party in next year's elections if he chooses to contest.

why would they be ashamed of the man that made them win the seat in the first place. All the people trump supported in the last election all won while Obama's men all lost 4 of his supported candidates. What does that tell you? The senators will never lose their seats because they supported trump in this impeachment rather the democrats should be wary of losing their seats due to witch hunting and one sided judgment without evidence. His fanbase will increase increase sympathy.

That the Republican party dominates the US Senate does not mean he won't be impeached.

Donald Trump has locked horns with almost everyone, including a sixteen year old climate activist. He doesn't take advise, he has destroyed many careers because he is very impulsive. Many capable hands have left his government. He is too volatile and his buffoonery is quite unique.

I am sure the old foxes like Senator Mitch McConnell would have been tired of him but won't publicly admit it, because Trump is now a political liability. This impeachment, whether ratified by the US Senate or not, would impact on the Republican party in the next elections. Many risk losing their seats if Trump is acquitted. I suspect some disenchanted Republicans may ask for a secret ballot so no one knows who voted for what. And in the not so unlikely event that that happens, the impeachment would be ratified.

just like Pelosi and her crew are risking not getting re elected. You think what the media and Co are posting reps the view of an average American. They are all selfish politicians. Despite all the slander against trump in 2016 I thought Clinton will win with a landslide but instead she lost. If trump ends up no getting removed the democrats will turn to a laughing stock. And will lose majority of their seats come next election

The president can't get his acquittal at the Senate without them getting the articles of impeachment to commence a trial.

Impeachment does not remove him from office. It goes to the senate for a trial, where 67 senators have to vote to remove him.

Republicans hold the majority with 53 senators while the democrats have 47 senators. That means 20 senators from the republicans side have to defect to vote to remove the president, which is unlikely to happen.

The Majority leader, McConnell and Chairman of the Judiciary commitee, Graham, both said the President will not be removed from office and they will move to acquit the president once it gets to the senate.

I'm tired of nairaland Democrat wannabes. I told them it's impossible to remove trump from office. No way 20 Republicans gonna vote to convict him at the senate. Some people don't wanna learn from history. They believe a miracle will be done this time around. Nigerians don't reason with their head, they play sentimentality card all the time.
