Was reading through your posts but didn't find answers to these questions.
Did you choose a school in Scotland
How much where you required to have as pof for the family of 6 and please what documents did you submit.
I'd be glad if you can assist me with more information.

The total POF including school fees was about 53k+pounds. The application was splited to two, main applicant 1st - 23K+ and later 5 dependents -30K+. Separate POF was used. Some of the documents used are account statements, school documents, marriage certificate, etc.

@justwise/others who travelled from UK to Naija recently, can one transit through Qatar to Naija with only fit to fly cert (departure PCR). I can see UK is on red list of Qatar.

Is there additional requirement other than PCR test? I have checked everywhere I can’t see any but want to err on side of caution. Trying avoid being stranded.

I will appreciate your immediate response. Family member needs to travel from Glasgow to Lagos tomorrow. Urgently need to do booking. Thanks

@Justwise and recent Naija travellers, After filling the departure form on the Nigeria international travel portal, I put fully vaccinated and attached proof of my cert, at the end it said “you are not required to make payment”, I’m still not sure if this looks right. Pls was it the same experience for you, i even clicked on make payment it wouldn’t let me.

You just reminded me of when I came to this place, so make I tell you more.

Getting the Airbnb for 1month might be a good option. When you get to the house here’s what to do and what I consider the order.

1. On the day or night of your arrival. Go to lebara site and order for a SIM card. It’s free. (http://lebara.co.uk/). And they will have it delivered to your apartment in about 48hrs. When buying the SIM card, go for the option of getting an unlimited calling and texting plan with data. The minimum is £5. That unlimited call will help you cos you will spend lots of time trying to understand what an average scots-man has said. The Accent different from the UK accent you think you know.

2. Once you get your sim, open a revolut or Monzo account immediately. Revolut will give you a virtual card. This virtual card you can use to pay for things while you wait for the physical card. Monzo don’t give virtual card but will send a physical card to your apartment in the shortest time.

3. With your SIM card you register for the letting sites and start the proper house search where you can call the landlord. Try to set up viewings for the day your isolation ends. So that you can get on the market quickly.

4. On the day of your stepping out. You can get a one week bus pass. With this bus pass you can go round to check houses with unlimited bus rides. This will help you when you miss you bus stop or your way. You can get the first bus app downloaded, then buy the one week ticket and scan with your phone. The ticket cost £17 for adult and £15 for students. Trust me this ticket will help you as moving with bus is the best option in Glasgow.

5. You can start to perfect your google usage. Especially the map. It’s a safer out here cos it works. One time in naij, google took me and my bro thru a one way street. Na God save us that day we for pay lastma.

The rest I think you will learn by experience and add to your own baking process.

Ah, my journey on this mission started 3 years back from US thread and back to UK.

As e be now, my family of 6 finally got visa Nov ending. My initial plan is to sort out Accomodation within 3wks b/4 our journey but that was truncated by red listing that lasted for about 2 Wks.

I urgently need help on how to secure reasonable accommodation in Scotland-close to Glasgow/Paisley where I can peacefully raise kids and teenagers. Suggestion of areas to focus on will be appreciated. I have been searching Zoopla for weeks with no success yet. Our journey is this weekend and I think I may just settle for bnb/hotel for now till I sort this out but hoping it will be short to save money.

Pls like which documents do I need to collect from kids schools to transfer to UK school. I have final school results already but not sure if that suffices.

I have many other questions to ask relating to tax benefits for student & partner joint registration for lease, opening bank account, life generally but kindly respond on accommodation thing and school entry documents.

I only called UKVI for cancellation of submitted application with wrong email address.

Pls is anyone experiencing issues making payment for IHS or from yesterday till now?

The transaction was declined more than 5 times using my dollar card and have to start another application. It has declined twice again after that.
I have called GTB and they confirm no issue with the card.

Also, I am unable to book appointment on TLS Ikeja for a dependent I have completed his application. The site is forcing to pick super priority I don’t need/have money.

Kindly help if you have information on above 2 issues. Thanks

how long does it take for anyone that newly arrived in UK to get this Biometric Resident Permit (BRP) ? Is it true that it is only after 10 working days? My brother arrived at Manchester by 19th October and still hasn't gotten his BRP? What could be the cause of the delay pls?

There was a general delay recently due to numbers of BRP to be attended to. A mail was sent that individual do not need to bother to check for next 4 weeks. So, previous mentioned 10 days after arrival no longer matter. The mail was clear enough and addressed all what you need BRP for (work, house, etc) can be done presenting the mail.

He can check back again anytime.

Pls I urgently need UKVI email address . Kindly send it to me if you have. I can’t find it on their web.

Pls how is the situation at TLS Ikeja/VI. Is there still high number of people or things have normalize?
I am looking forward to appointment next week.

Use smartphone to read QR sticker on vaccination card. It automatically takes you to the NPHDA web that will show your vaccination status (full/partial), your name, type of vaccine, date the vaccine was taken, etc

If you are referring to day 2 test, she used Expert Medical (£28). Their delivery after ordering is fast (btw 2-4 working days) but the result took about 4 days.

I will advise you book early, get it waiting at your address b4 your arrival, take the test immediately you get to the destination and drop at post office (you are allowed to take day 2 test anytime b4 2nd day of arrival). With that you can get your result around your 4th day of arrival.

Thanks. I have created a new mail with misspelled email address but couldn’t get previous emails that were sent before making payment for visa. I can’t get the mail that mail for submitting documents (to move from UKVI web to TLS site).

I have tried to reach UKVI for possible solution but phone message is that they are closed despite opening time for today stated on web is btw 0930am-0430pm. It’s tough.

Pls I need urgent help. I misspelled the email address for a dependent application that I have paid IHS and Visa fee. I am currently unable to access the account and progress the application to TLS.

I tried to get in to the account through UKVI website by providing the passport number and DOB but the response am getting is that the data am submitting are incorrect (the same correct data loaded for the application).

All efforts to reach UKVI through their phone lines is not working. Pls what else can I do to progress this application today?

My wife (fully vaccinated) travelled through Lagos last and she was not asked of pre departure COVID-19 test. She did the test though to avoid stress from immigration /airport staffs.

Ensure your QR sticker on vaccination card reads that you are fully vaccinated.

My wife (fully vaccinated) travelled last week through Lagos without being asked of pre-departure Covid-19 test. Although, she did the test just in case the immigration guys want to give her stress.

Ensure you read the QR sticker on vaccination card and your status of full vaccination is online.

I was rushing to complete the application yesterday and chose No because I have read earlier that dependents (child) can use bank statement of parent.

It’s not clear to me if parent still needs to sign third party form.

If I must do it, I hope I can correct what I chose by attaching the third party form as evidence.

Are you sure about this? Did they change the rules recently? The last time I flew KLM Lagos - Amsterdam - London, I didn’t require a transit visa as it is a connecting flight and you’re not going past border control. Double check with the Airline though to be sure.

When was the last time you travelled through Amsterdam?

You need to know after Brexit, immigration rules to UK changed. You will need transit visa to travel to UK via Amsterdam now.

He should get transit visa or change flight route.

I was rest assured that I am fully vaccinated 4 months back and ready to take that advantages but was stunned to see partial vaccination online after doing QR check. Simply put, the agency is not fully updating status online.

In addition to your status on vaccination on card, pls check status online and follow up on status update if not same by calling the phone number of the health team written on your card.

The rules have changed a bit, New set of rules would start tomorrow . Your kids below 14 would not be required to take a pre departure test from Tomorrow and would only have to pay for day 2 test, with no quarantine mandate as well. For the Parents, you would need to have been fully vaccinated with your second shot taken at least 14 days before your travel date to be qualify for same .

Major worry is the way immigration staffs in Nigeria behaves. They wouldn’t mind frustrating travelers to extort money.

My wife Application went successfully even after US cancel her US student visa due to the fact that she had a baby through Obama and we dint pay for child birth...She still has a semester to go when she came home but her visa was cancelled due to Trump new renewal visas. She was giving white paper but was asked to provide the receipt of child birth. We got the insurance receipt from the hospital but her visa was cancelled without prejudice.

All her 4 US refusal declared
VISa cancellation declared

But GOD did it , without any interview

Fast forward to my application, I applied a week after she got her visas with the kids. Note I have a UK refusal where I claim single and no dependent in 2018 but was married and had a baby. But GOD came through for me. I fasted and prayed and GOD heard.

My visa came out in 6 days. GOD DID IT , there is absolute nothing GOD cannot do and am a testimony. May GOD answer everyone else awaiting there visas or having one issue or the other.
