Christianity EtcNo Species Seniors Another Within A Functioning Ecosystem by lawani(op): 12:54pm On Jun 02, 2025
No species within a functioning ecosystem seniors another.

There was no time there was cattle and no fodder for them to feed on. Therefore all the species within a functioning ecosystem emerged on the same day. They are of the same chronological age. No one seniors or appeared before any other even for one day.
Subsequently, if the system can throw up the cattle and the fodder on the same day, what stops it from throwing up intelligent life of which there have been many species on the same day?.

Don't mind that guy.
I have lived in both world and I will say I spend more in Nigeria as tax and levies than in the UK.

The only thing I don't pay is income tax in Nigeria.
And when we pay landlord levy, they charge you according to the worth of your house. Don't eve know the rationale behind that.

I pay a lot for naming a street every year. Is that not tax?
I still pay landlord tax to local govt. That levy wike sealed pdp house for, I pay that.
When I bought my land, I coughed out a certain % to the local govt. To approve the building plan, another hundreds of thousands. And in between, they will come for another money.
Before you finish your house, local govt will collect more than 1m. That was some yrs ago.
You will still do your water, but nepa cable and wire your street. I'm not in Nigeria but I'm still paying. Ask traders why they increase prices of goods indiscriminately. Because of tax. Nothing more. Some pay in millions.

At tinubu square,a family member pay millions to local govt every year excluding other levies.

That guy don't know what he is talking about.
I guess you are talking about Lagos. There is taxation in Lagos though they are not doing more than twenty percent of income tax that they can do.

Babangidapikin:
Why would Federal Government seize allocation without a valid Court order, even the issue of control of the Local Government needs to be tabled at the Court. I believe the State Assembly legislate over the State Affair and if at the time the Governor issues the executive orders to suspend the Council Chairmen, it is within the purview of his powers I don't see any issue here. Unfortunately we have an AGF that's partisan for the first time with selective amnesia. The Yes/No election breached the electoral guidelines and the law is about precedent, so I don't see it flying.
It is not right to release local government funds to governors if they are blocking democracy at local government level
PoliticsRe: FG Seizes Osun LGs’ February, March, April Allocations by lawani(m): 5:02pm On May 31, 2025
Any state with no elected local government administrators should not get local government allocation. Governors are stifling democracy at local government level. Enough is enough

Sirianese:
Nigerians pay unreceipted tax at the grassroots level: danfo drivers, marketwomen, Keke riders, okada men, petty traders and hustlers selling their sh#t at the bus-stops and the roadsides.

Believe me when I tell you that all aforementioned folks are taxed heavily, and that is the money being flexed by brainless monkeys like oluomo and all his thug associates who function within the subterranean spaces of Nigerian political activity
What the government needs is a minimum wage law that is enforced and the wage must be high enough to bear tax. It will greatly increase government revenue. I agree that the NURTW is taking revenue that belongs to government. I don't think it is like that in Eastern Nigeria though because they have private companies in their transport sector.
PoliticsRe: When Norway Hit Oil by lawani(op): 7:38pm On May 29, 2025
danvon:
You failed to account for Nigerian politics at the time...

The vast majority of Nigerians were living in poverty at the time, now for the leaders to discover oil and then start heavily taxing the citizens in the midst of an oil boom, those leaders are just begging for trouble.

Norway was not a poor undeveloped country before oil was discovered.
Why it seems Nigerians are living in poverty is the high population growth rate but by and large, our poverty is man made. A Yoruba saying goes bi ounje ba kuro ninu ise, ise buse. Poverty minus hunger is poverty greatly reduced. We have fertile land and to feed ourselves and export too will be straightforward assuming there were real leaders. After you have fed yourselves, the next important things are basic education, healthcare and housing. In the western region as at the fifties, there was free basic education, free healthcare and scholarships for people that qualify for tertiary education. They had it rough in Norway too and till today they have poor people. The point is poverty of the masses is not an excuse as Nigeria was and is still well placed to surmount it.
PoliticsWhen Norway Hit Oil by lawani(op): 6:26pm On May 29, 2025
When Norway hit oil.

When Norway came upon her oil fortune which is similar in magnitude to Nigeria’s, they decided to continue taxing their people heavily anyway as their neighbors in western Europe are doing. They decided to be saving the oil money in a sovereign wealth fund since to their reasoning, it is not money they worked for and today, the Norwegian sovereign trust fund is one of the largest in the world. Norway’s population is around five million people in 2025.

When Nigeria entered her oil boom, the government shifted to start depending heavily on the oil income and the other sectors of the economy were left alone. In Nigeria, until recently more than eighty five percent of government revenue was derived from oil. It was as if government was not running at all before oil was discovered. Since the finances of the government is not tied to the progress and success of the whole economy, the whole country became a mess and a once thriving country became a shadow of itself. That is the story of Nigeria. Nigeria is over 220 million people in 2025.

When Norway of 5 million people hit oil, they used the money to invest all over the world but when Nigeria of 220 million people hit oil, it became a resource curse.
PoliticsThe Right Way To Swear In People Into Public Offices by lawani(op): 5:58pm On May 29, 2025
The right way to be sworn into a public office.

The right way to take an oath is not by just saying you will do the right thing, God helping you. An oath taker for a public office should also be mandated to say what bad things should happen to them if they derail. That will make them to be more serious on the job.
PoliticsRe: Only 19% Of Nigerians Pay Taxes, Says FIRS Boss by lawani(m): 5:20pm On May 29, 2025
To get income tax from all income earners as is the case in well organized nations, you have to enforce a minimum wage on all employers of labor and that wage must be high enough to bear the tax.

Yorubas have more sense actually. They think deeply before they act. No brainless nzogbu nzogbu moves. When all military personnel were ordered to go back to their regions of origin, all Eastern personnel went to the east, all western personnel went to the west, the northern personnel in the west didn't leave the west, because Lagos was the capital, and the HOS was a northerner. That was what Awo was campaigning against, and the reason they gave was that they would not trust Gowon in the hands of Yoruba soldiers. And Northern soldiers way outnumbered Yoruba soldiers. So, you think Awo would be stvpid as Ojucrook and declare for war. Lolz. That's what "Yoruba ronu" does (you guys hate that expression, as it doesn't allow you to manipulate Yorubas the way you want). You think before you act, a concept very alien to you developers.
Northern soldiers actually left the west when chief Awolowo insisted, they stationed themselves at Ilorin and that was why it was the Yoruba that had to defend their land by themselves.

Let's just assume that the South East is about the size of Oyo State. What they are doing in that South East speaks for its self. Outside Lagos, no other city has the highest number of story buildings than Onitsha

The question South Westerners should ask themselves is why is it that beyond Lagos that was capital of Nigeria for 80 years, and Ibadan that was capital of the old Western Region and now capital of Oyo, they have no cities worthy of note?

Aba, Nnewi and Onitsha are cities, they have never been capital of anywhere. The fact that the South West has so much land should have been a golden opportunity to show their development power. Yet if they are asked were they made a noteworthy place that was never capital, they will tell you Sango-otta
Are Ilesa, Abeokuta, Osogbo, Ijebu ode, Akure etc not worthy of note?. Ilesa is industrialized with brewery, nails manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, distilleries foam making, fabrication companies, agro allied companies and etc. It is wrong to say only Ibadan and Lagos are worthy of note in the west.

Foreign AffairsThe Russia- Ukraine War And Other Wars by lawani(op): 4:29pm On May 20, 2025
The Russia-Ukraine war and other wars.

My opinion is that it was an undesirable outcome for the Soviet Union to split. There was nothing that necessitated such an outcome. It will therefore be good if the breakaway republics can come back together as one. The war between Russia and Ukraine can potentially go on for decades if not resolved and people will continue dying needlessly in large numbers.
Russia and Ukraine used to be one country and it will be good if they can end the war and become one country again.
Our civilization should have outgrown wars. We should be at a level whereby we solve all our differences civilly via debates.
The same also applies to the problem between Israel and Palestine, India and Pakistan and etc.
We have the same natural resources on Earth or even less than we had when there was only a few hundreds of millions of people on Earth, yet we are better off materially and etc than them despite being over eight billion in population. This shows that management is what we need as we have everything in abundance. We should have outgrown wars.

So I spent the whole day doing absolutely nothing, so I decided to go through your proposal yet again. This time, I read everything very slowly, like I was decoding Da Vinci’s code.
But one line nearly made me drop my phone…. the part where you said 240% return per cycle. Omo!

So, if I understand correctly… you’re saying if I invest ₦1.5M, by the end of two cycles (aka one year), we will be looking at ₦8M profit? Bros, abeg be calming down. That kind ROI fit raise my ancestors from their grave… even Ponzi people go dey take notes 😆

See ehn, if maize dey pay like this, forget oil, even CBN go start farming. But for real sha… help me understand; I like the confidence and the structure and ambition sha… no lie …
but make we balance am with small reality check. If na so e easy, banks go dey beg farmers with loan. So, talk to me like a partner & brother . Let be 100 percent real with ourselves..
I have done the research once but I did not eventually go into it. For maize and cassava, if you invest 1 million naira, you should be able to make at least 2.5 million naira after 12 months but if you scale it up very much, then security and admin will take part of the 2.5 million naira.

PoliticsMinimum Wage Trick- You Are Not Paying Tax by lawani(op): 9:39am On May 07, 2025
Minimum wage trick- You are not paying tax.

In an organized nation where the whole of the economy is formalized, the government in conjunction with labour unions will determine the minimum wage to be above poverty level and then add the amount to be collected as tax on top of it. So, more or less nobody, especially minimum wage earners, is paying tax because the amount to be paid was added to what they need to live. The government is simply using a trick to collect revenue to cater for everybody. It is this trick that should be adopted by all governments globally. Currently many of the governments of nations with non formalized economies where the majority of the economy is informal are making the mistake of exempting low income earners from paying tax thereby denying themselves of huge revenue that could have helped in nation building.
