Elections are not like that especially in Nigeria. If Atiku and Obi were together in 2023 the dynamics would have changed immediately and there is no guarantee they would have won. Would Atiku have won Lagos? So it is not a simple addition of the votes they got individually.

The SE is contributing taxes on a per Capita basis more than the NW. The NW should be doing three times what the SE does but they only do like 2.3 or so times. The SE have more allocations only because they have a high number of states per Capita. Compared to the SE, Oyo and Ogun should be two states each not to mention Lagos. If those states were in place, they would be entitled to allocations too. It is not that the SE is the least productive, they have the least population by far is the real issue. GDP and productivity comes from population.

This should not even be debated. Northern Christians are not banned from contesting elections. Many of them have good track records too. Northern Muslims can vote them. No single bloc is the majority. If any voting bloc says someone from another bloc must never get there, then there will be protest and solidarity votes in favor of the party being denied. Yaradua wasn't Fulani. Gowon spent nine years as head and he was Northern Christian. Balewa was not Fulani. If they zone Presidency to the North Central then a Christian can clinch the ticket. Babangida and Abdulsalam as well as Abacha were not Fulani. Muritala Mohammed was not Fulani.

People just lump all Northern Muslims together and call them Fulani which they are not. IBB actually sacked a Fulani controlled government almost without firing a shot. This is not to say there is no influence of the Sokoto caliphate over some of the men.

Nigeria's first President was Igbo and the first military head was Igbo but there has not been any Igbo President since the end of the civil war. Tinubu can also be regarded as the first Yoruba sponsored President because Obasanjo was imposed on the country by the military and if there is zoning, I would not agree as a person that the SW should rank equally with every other zone given the population not to talk of the output as that wouldn't be fair

I never supported Buhari. Don't count me among Buhari supporters. However they did it and were able to get the Presidency as a result . Are they using the slot well? I on my part have been for years saying dependency on oil is Nigeria's problem. It is more of the problem than corruption and this current government is on track to end that dependency as oil income was around 45 percent of total income last year. The reckless printing of naira that had become traditional is also now no longer the norm. The dollar value of people's wages is actually rising in Nigeria for the first time in decades. If the government can reduce oil income to less than twenty percent of total income then it would have done more than it's fair share for Nigeria.

I don't love Nigeria. I prefer it's dissolution and it will be easier if the government revenue is not more than twenty percent oil.

If the Yoruba are using the Igbos as a buffer, Igbos too are doing the same thing. Hausa too the same. We are all in the mess together.

Kanu will eventually be released but he is yet to even acknowledge any wrongdoing. Could he have escaped punishment in any country? If there is one think Atiku and Obi agree on, its that Tinubu and APC should go, and both men can make it happen, but it will require one of them stepping down for the other.

If there is pure ethnic voting and all Hausas vote together with Igbos for Atiku, the total alone can not tilt the election. A combination of Yoruba and Hausa can do that though. However if all other ethnic groups in the South vote against any Yoruba candidate then the total will tilt the election in favor of Atiku.
