I’m usually taken aback whenever officers of the present APC administration release statements and interviews to sermonise Nigerians on how PDP administration has destroyed Nigeria for 16years and how they are working on fixing the mess created by PDP.

It is non-contestable that between May 29, 1999 and May 29, 2015, “PDP”(in quote) occupied the seat of power in Abuja and control majority states in the federation.

However, we have to get our fact right with respect to “who destroyed Nigeria between 99 and 2015”. I believe we should do a holistic analysis on this subject.

PRESIDENTS AND VICE BETWEEN 1999 – 2015:

Nigeria had three presidents between May 29, 1999 and May 29, 2015.
Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Late Mallam Umaru Yar’adua and Dr Goodluck Jonathan. Of the three, Obasanjo spent eight years in office(1999-2007), Yar’adua three years (May 2007-May 2010) and Dr Jonathan five years (May 2010-May 2015).

Obasanjo with highest number of time spent (Eight years) denounced PDP to become APC and Buhari’s navigator to office. Similarly, of the three vice presidents between the period, Atiku Abubakar spent the most number of years in office (Eight, 1999-2007).

He not only moved to AC/APC while in office in 2006, he also aspired to rule Nigeria on APC platform in 2014 and is a member of APC’s Board of Trustees.

SPEAKERS OF HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVE BETWEEN 1999-2015:

Between 1999 and 2015 Nigeria had six Speakers of Federal House of Representative.

They are Salisu Buhari (June -July 1999), Ghali Na’aba (July 1999-June 2003), Aminu Bello Mansari (June 2003-June 2007), Madam Patricia Etteh (June 2007-November 2007), Dimeji Bankole (Nov 2007-June 2011) and Waziri Tambuwal (June 2011-June 2015).

Of all Six former Speakers, FOUR are members of APC (Na’aba, Mansari, Etteh and Tambawal) with a combined period of TWELVE YEARS in office out of the sixteen years. Mansari and Tambawal are APC Governors of Katsina and Sokoto states respectively.

PROMINENT GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS:

Nasir Elrufai was DG Bureau for Public Enterprise and Secretary of National Council on Privatisation between 1999 and 2003. He later became minister of FCT between 2003 and 2007. As DG BPE and Secretary of NCP, he supervised the privatisation of NEPA, NITEL etc..ALL were emershed in controversy.

By virtue of his office, Atiku Abubakar was the Chairman of NCP between 1999 and 2007. Both men supervised the privatisation of public companies for the period. They are APC members.

Danjuma Goje, was the minister of state for power between 1999 and 2003. Rabiu Kwankwaso was minister of Defence between 2003 and 2007. Both are members of APC BoT and Senators.
Samuel Orthom served as minister of state, trade and investment between 2011 and 2015. Nasir Elrufai was minister of FCT between 2003 and 2007. They are now Governors of Benue and Kaduna states respectively. Should we wash all these away?

STATE ADMINISTRATIONS BETWEEN 1999-2015:

Between 1999 and 2015, Gombe has had three Governors, Abubakar Hashidu (4years), Danjuma Goje (8years) and Ibrahim Dankwambo (4years). Both Hashidu and Goje are members of APC. That is a combined 12years.

In Kwara state, all governors since 1999 are APC members save late Lawal who ruled under APP.

In Anambra state, ex-Govs Mbadiniju (4years), Nwabuweze Chris Ngige (3years), and Peter Obi(8years) were Governors. Mbadinuju and Ngige are APC members. That is a combined 7years between 1999-2014. PDP Obi held sway for 8 years.

Similarly, in Benue state, George Akume was held sway from 1999-2007 (and Senator 2007 till date). He is an APC chieftain.

All Governors of Osun state between 1999 till date are APC members. Also in Ekiti state, of the 16 years, PDP’s Fayose only had four. Otunba Niyi Adebayo (4years), Segun Oni (3 years) and Fayemi (4years) are BoT members of APC.

In Abia state, Uzo Kalu that held sway between 1999 to 2007 is a Chief of APC. APC governors have been in power in Lagos state all through the period.

In Zamfara state, APC Govs held sway for TWELVE out of the 16years.

In Rivers state, APC Chieftain Rotimi Amaechi was not only Governor for eight years (of the 16years), he also served as Speaker for the other part of 8years.

Plateau state Governor Simon Lalong was a Speaker during the Dariye administration. The list is endless.

APC CLAIM OF PDP DESTROYING NIGERIA FOR 16 YEARS IS ILLOGICAL:

We can see that between 1999 and May 2015 individuals occupied various political offices, the actions (and inactions) of these office-holders contributed to the decline of the Nigeria and her economy.

Majority of these people were at one time or the other indicted for corrupt practices and fraud while in office. Most of these people are members of APC and some appointed into offices. ALL of them combined are responsible for the sorry state of things in Nigeria.

We can’t forget so soon that it was Saraki and Amaechi (as NGF Chairpersons) that moved for the Sharing and depletion of the Excess Crude Account, which GEJ bowed to between 2007 and 2012.

In fact, they also pushed for the sharing of One Billion Dollars in Soveriegn Wealth Fund but was resisted by Jonathan.

Today, Saraki is not just APC Senator but also the Senate President, while Amaechi is a minister. Can we forget so soon that Audu Ogbeh, the minister of agriculture and APC Senator Barnabas Germade were PDP National Chairmen between these period.

The claim by APC defies logic in every sense.

Finally, the continuous claim by the Buhari administration that “PDP destroyed Nigeria” for sixteen years only shows that the present administration is yet to understand the problem of Nigeria.

Worse still, it is an indictment on all those those that held one offices or the other since 1999 especially at federal level.

With Buhari having some of these people in his government and other positions of leadership, shows the insincerity of the government and ruling APC.

I will advice that president Buhari save Nigerians these excuses and focus on the job he was elected to do. PDP is not the name of any official, APC Chieftains have been part of the system.

In a dwindling revenue, Buhari did the unheard of, instead of reducing the budget, he increased the budget from N4.3trn to N6.07trn. He presented the most fraudulent, inflated and irredeemably padded budget.
The Nigerian Governance Watch stated that they were not surprised, as President Buhari they described as a “very serious” leader, in a recession period did not deem it fit to appoint a single Economist among the 36 names in his cabinet.

They frowned at the president’s inability to set up an economic Team after 10 months in office and only resorting to intuition, thumb rules and application of Adam and Eve economies in this 21st century.

On the political front, the condemned President’s deliberate interventions in the electoral process and his use of security agencies to intimidate the opposition and the assassination and killing of people of diverse opinion.

The UK based group, according to Hope For Nigeria is worried that President Buhari who benefited in one of the best organised elections in Africa just few months ago have been unable to successfully organise any election in the country.

In conclusion, according to Hope For Nigeria, the group advised President Buhari to swallow his pride and recall some of the experts from previous governments that meticulously guided the Nigerian economy to be the largest in the continent. Minister of Transportation and Rivers APC leader, Rotimi Amaechi has blasted APC candidates who lost the re-run elections yesterday saying "hunger will kill you (people)". This was in reply to the stinker given to him and credited to his former Chief of Staff and aspirant to the Obio/Akpor Constitency seat for the Federal House of Reps, Tony Okocha.

Speaking at the Port Harcourt International Airport on his way back to Abuja, Amaechi said "its unfortunate that people who are contesting election are waiting for me to give them money before they can campaign. How can people be so wicked to themselves" he asked.

When a reporter read to him what Mr Tony Okocha said, including saying that he Amaechi talks too much and was responsible for their collective loss during yesterday's polls, Amaechi replied "I doubt Tony said that, but if he did,, tell him that for waiting on my money, hunger will kill him too; You know I dont hide my feelings, thats why Rivers people love me".

Also when queried for his response to the anger of APC members in the state who said "AmaechI's Federal might is useless. We could have done better without the army that Amaechi brought" he laughed and replied "if you dont have something else to ask me, then you all should step back and stop following me"

It would be recalled that Mr Tony Okocha yesterday blasted Rotimi Amaechi accusing him of being responsible for their loss. He said: "We lost this election because Amaechi talks too much, Amaechi talks too much. l never liked his radio and TV ranting because he was just talking before thinking. He exposed our plans and brought the eyes of the whole world on Rivers State through his needless media noise."

He continued "Even the money we asked them to give us for the election, he said the money would be given to us after the election because, we used the money he gave us for 2015 election to buy cars. What nonsense!

Hello parents and friends,

I used another user name.....I have a 14 yr old only sis who is getting out of hand. My parents are quite aged(mom - close to 60, dad - above 70 and challenged health-wise). Mom and sis are the only ones taking care of him. My brother serving while I work far from home. I go home once or twice in a month as I also do some casual jobs apart from my job during the weekends to make ends meet. P.S: I am the first girl and first born, so the need to hustle as I send money home and all. I am in mid 20s.

Each time I go home, I make sure I educate/groom my younger sis on how to behave. I educate her on sex education, composture as a woman, what and what-nots. I inquire about her academics, spiritual life, I ask about her friends and I know a few of them. I try my possible best to talk to her and obviously she tells me only what she feels I should know. I even give her pocket money every month #1000 just to encourage her and know I care about her which I belive she understands.

Last weekend when I went home, I noticed the way she spoke to my mom and I corrected her. I also noticed she painted her nails and I have corrected her on this issue for a while. I have advised her severally and given her strong reasons why she should not indulge in such yet. I understand what puberty means as I am a peer educator. My mom resorted to beating her when she goes wrong but I explained to my mom not to do that all the time cos she is in her puberty stage, she is prone to misbehaving. I advised she should talk to her which she adhered to but my sis has refused to listen. On getting home this weekend, I was infuriated when I saw her painted nails. I had to choice than to smack her. I asked her why she has refused to obey my instructions despite all advice and corrections, she didnt say anthing.

My neighbor came around and also advised her to stop such act. Just today, while at work, my mom chatted with me that she saw a diary my sister wrote confessing that she hates her parents because last year they refused to allow her go to Deeper life camp. Pls note that we are not members of that church but over the years, my mom has always allowed her go for their youth camp because its not far from us and its within the area but last year, dad had attack and mom sells egg which she distrubutes and she needed my sister to assist her,hence, her refusal. My sister told me about it and I explained to her that mom needs her more that period, and I assured her she would go this year.

Alas, mom just saw it in her diary today where she stated that she hates her parents because they refused her and for some silly reasons which bores down to correcting her. She also mentioned that she has a boyfriend but she doesnt like the boy because he refused to give her money.

Please note that, she takes #70 to school each day plus food. Even in our financial situation, my mom tries her best to satisfy her children. My sister even saves the money I send to her and buy meaningful things with it. She also wrote in her diary where mom beat and corrects herand she doesnt like it.

Infact, I just jokingly waved the whole thing when my mom told me in tears today because I dont want to worsen the whole thing. I told her I also had diaries where I wrote all sorts about disliking my parents and my brother when I was at her age because I thought they loved my brother more. I even thought she wasnt my mom because of the whole discipline thing which is quite true. Not untill I became matured that I saw that she actually loved me and her training has helped me troughout life even in tough situations till date...you cant spend an hour with me without liking me ....no, my mom tried

To cut the long story short, pls how do I manage this situation because I dont want this to cause a burden to my mom. My dad must not even hear. I just had to appease her that it is normal for teenagers to think that way and all and she shouldnt create a big deal over it. I advised that she should have a heart to heart talk with my sis. I will be going home this weekend, pls how do I get my sister to realise that we love her and we care about her alot, how do I explain to her that shes just been disciplined and nothing more... oro yi su mi..

But Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa who hails from Owa- Oyibu in Ika North-East council area within Anioma land, disowned the purported map, insisting that no part of the state was in Biafra territory ab-initio.
“We have criticized Biafran agitation. Anioma land, as it is, from here we are part of old Bendel State, we are part of the Mid-west State, we have not been part of the South-East, so obviously, we cannot be said to be part of them.
“We may speak a similar language but we are not part of the South-East. We were part of the Mid-west which was later Bendel State. We are now Delta State and we are Deltans,” Okowa told journalists in Asaba.
Buttressing the governor’s point, Ogbueshi Paul Oliko of Umuagu quarters of Asaba told Saturday Sun that Biafran agitators who are claiming that their territory extends to Anioma land were misinformed by their leaders.
Oliko whose father was killed during the civil war, explained that during the war “what was declared as Biafra was the current South-East region. “The governors of Rivers, Cross River and Akwa-Ibom have made pronouncements prohibiting such protests. There are no more demonstrations in Port Harcourt, Calabar and Uyo because the governors are no longer tolerating the agitators.
“The towns may be in their (Biafra) map when they were still a small community, now they are all enlightened. Before, Effiong used to be Ojukwu’s deputy but the people of Calabar where Effiong came from dissociated themselves from the agitation.
