missbehave247: Dr Oby Ezekwesili, a former Education Minister and Co-coordinator of the Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) campaign Movement is set to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari over the missing Chibok girls.
The Coordinator of the BBOG told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Lagos that the group sought audience with President Buhari regarding the fate of the girls and ways to rescue them successfully.
Ezekwesili said that the group was not relenting on the girls. She said: ”We have written to request for a meeting with the President as we did on several occasions with the previous government.
”The meeting shall enable us to express our deep anxieties at the failure of the Federal Government to rescue our 219 Chibok girls.
”We shall also use the meeting to understand and contribute to the strategy for countering terrorism, ensuring post-insurgency recovery and other related issues.
”We have formally written on behalf of the BringBackOurGirls movement in Abuja, nationwide, and all over the world to the President and sought to meet with him.
”We now await official confirmation and schedule for the meeting from the President; 276 Chibok schoolgirls abducted, 57 escaped, 219 still missing, zero rescued and we are not giving up on them.”
The female students were kidnapped from the Government Secondary School in Chibok, Borno State on the night of April 15, 2014. The Boko Haram sect claimed responsibility for the kidnap of the girls.
In a recent development, six female student from Chibok community, that escaped from the deadly terrorist group, Boko Haram, during a raid on government girls secondary school last year, have been hosted to a reception at the United States congress.

Kakakino: https://www.kakakino.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/buhariTINUBU.jpg
As Nigerians anticipates the announcement of ministers in the newly inaugurated government of President Muhammadu Buhari, indications have emerged that the president has snubbed the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in short-listing names of competent Nigerians that would constitute his cabinet.
Sundiata Post reports that instead of doing the expected – liaise with the APC leadership, especially the party’s National Leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu – President Buhari has chosen to seek advice from immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan on those to make up the next Federal Executive Council (FEC).
Asides Jonathan, President Buhari is reportedly seeking advice from former leaders like Ibrahim Babangida, Abdulsalami Abubakar, Olusegun Obasanjo, Yakubu Gowon, and Shehu Shagari.
The report availed that President Buhari’s action was “leaked” last weekend when friends of the newly appointed Special Adviser to President Buhari on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, paid a “thank you” visit at the Defence House.
Further investigations reveal that President Buhari’s decision is as a result of some “unrealistic” demands from the former Lagos State Governor.
As expected, the decision has not gone down well with Tinubu and the APC party leadership who have been left in the dark as to major decisions of the new President.
After the said meeting, President Buhari was quoted as saying stick to the promise he made during his inaugural speech of “belonging to nobody” and running an all-inclusive government, although Tinubu and his APC cohorts would prefer to be “pilots of the Nigerian aircraft.”
Another anonymous source at President Buhari’s temporary residence, Defence House said: “Nigerians will be shocked when President Buhari completes the list of who becomes ministers, advisers and all other key positions in a few weeks.
“By the time the National Assembly receives the list, even Tinubu will be shocked because like the man said during the inauguration he is ready to work for everybody and nobody”.

Politics › Re: Why was national security Meeting Held By Buhari Involve Only Northern Security? by lawrsmith(m): 7:49am On Jun 11, 2015 |
peleson: Where is Ken Minimah the Chief of army staff? Buhari held a national security meeting with only northern security chiefs says a lot about this administration! This is like the continuation of war on the south! All appears not to be smooth between President Muhammadu Buhari and his Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo as it relates to national security matters.
President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday met behind closed doors with some security chiefs to marshal the country’s plans that will be presented at a meeting of the Lake Chad Basin Commission in Abuja on Thursday. Vice President Osinbajo was conspicuously absent at this meeting.
National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.); Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence, Ismail Aliyu; Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh; and Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin attended the meeting held inside the Defence House in Abuja. According to a state house correspondent who spoke to BREAKING TIMES on Wednesday, this is the second time Vice President Osinabjo will be “denied access” into a strategic security briefing with the President. “Normally, the Vice President should be part of these inauguarl security briefings because he is the second in command and will deputise for the President in his absence. His absence two times in a row is not healthy at this early stage of their working relationship. We don’t actually know what is going on”, the source said.
Last week Wednesday, June 3rd 2015, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo was reportedly ‘locked out’ of President Muhammadu Buhari’s meeting with the National Security Adviser on the orders of President Buhari. According to reports, Vice-President Osinbajo was refused ‘security clearance’ to attend the meeting as a result of security concerns by the Commander-in-Chief allegedly over what he described as a “very sensitive meeting.”
Permanent Secretary at Nigeria’s Ministry of Defence, Ismail Aliyu briefed State House correspondents at the end of today’s meeting, which lasted less more than two hours.
He said they discussed issues relating to the operationalisation of the Multinational Joint Task Force and the contributions of each member state.
He said the President, at the meeting, reiterated his desire to end insurgency in the country and the region in shortest possible time.
Aliyu said, “We came to brief Mr. President on the meeting of the Lake Chad Basin Commission.
President Buhari appears not to be the only one undermining the office of the Vice President. Newly elected Senate President, Bukola Saraki shunned a truce meeting called on Monday by the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Senator Saraki boycotted the meeting after reportedly telling party leaders that as a former governor he could not attend a meeting summoned by a ‘mere commissioner’, referring to Professor Yemi Osinbajo, whose previous public office was as Commissioner of Justice in Lagos State.
http://www.thebreakingtimes.com/osinbajo-locked-out-of-buharis-security-meeting-second-time-in-2-weeks/ this is because BOKO HARAM is agenda of the north to make GEJ government ungovernable thereby returning power to the North.now the mission is accomplished the unlettered man from daura is trying to ends what he started period.so the essence of denying the VP access is to cover every thing up. |

folajoseph: I'm an ardent reader and i will like to share my story with you since a problem shared is a problem half solved.
I'm a 30 years old man, i started dating a girl in August 2008 (she's igbo and i'm yoruba) we live in the same estate and the relationship was the best time of my life until one day, not long into the relationship i was planning to move to my own apartment since i was staying with parents as i walking her home she told me we should call the relationship quit after about 1 year, i asked her why and she said because i was moving, i explained to her that we would always visit each other but she said No, so i left her and went home feeling bad, i didn't even sleep that night.
To cut the long story short she apologized and we were back together, not long after she moved to Enugu from Lagos to stay with her sister and we only talked on phone, all of a sudden she broke up with me again for no reason, in fact she broke up with me 3 times without stating any reason and came back begging me by herself (thought she was still a virgin), when she did it the 4th time, i had fallen out of Love with her, the passion was gone.
I had wasted over 3 years with this girl and i felt used so one night i came back from work and went to a bar alone to get drunk, i met a girl through a lady friend and we had s*x that night, my x called me after then and started begging me again but i said this time it’s over for good but unknown to me the girl i had s*x with was pregnant but didn't tell me, when she was 7 months pregnant her mother called me to break the news to me, i was sad because she didn't tell me for 7 months that she has been pregnant and secondly she was a rebound girl i never Loved her.
She gave birth to twins(2 boys) though i have a good job but it would have been better to have the kids with the one i Loved, i later found out that she was a promiscuous girl that sleeps around and to my greatest surprise she is also a clepto whom i have bailed out of different situations which made me to take my kids away from her to my parents whom have been taking better care of them though i pay all their bills conveniently (in fact i'm happy i had those kids, they are amazing and people always commend me when they see me with them especially in their school)
Now i find it hard to forgive the mother of my kids for not telling me initially and also my girlfriend for all she did to me (though she said it was due to tribal difference) but i find it hard to meet nice girls plus i don't know if i can Love again, i need help. this super story.....Mike Adenuga @ work |

oladele97: By Kaitafa Ahmed Sani — Jun 4, 2015 11:41 am | 4 Comments With the swearing-in of President Muhammadu Buhari and the curtains drawn on the 7th National Assembly, attention has duly shifted to the leadership of the 8th National Assembly. Needless to state that the most focused of the two chambers is the Senate. The Senate comprising 109 distinguished senior citizens is expected to select or elect a new leader come Tuesday, 9th July, 2015.Two major contenders for the leadership of the Senate; Senator Bukola Saraki from Kwara State and Senator Ahmad Lawan from Yobe have thus emerged for the top seat. While not delving into the usual complimentary remarks in support of a particular candidate, it is, however, pertinent that as a card-carrying member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), one implored on the party, its senators and other distinguished senators to make the best choice of the two, especially as it regards experience, party loyalty and of course the question of the moral burden. If Nigeria must be the winner and seen to be the ultimate beneficiary of the gift of a most qualified Senate president, then the perfect choice in my candid opinion for the job at hand is Senator Ahmed Lawan ( Dan Masanin bade). And the reasons are not far-fetched. The first issue I would like to look at is the years of ranking and, indeed, experience in law-making, especially at the level of the national assembly. Lawan is the longest serving APC legislator in the National Assembly, having been there since 1999. If ever there is a reward for experience in the promulgation and act of lawmaking he should be granted that reward. Following suit is the issue of loyalty to the party, which is and should be very paramount to the APC. Unlike his major contestant who left for the PDP in 2003 to wrest power from an ANPP governor and later jumped back to the APC, Senator Lawan has never left the opposition. Even after the huge pressure mounted on him from 2007-2010 when the party had major issues in Yobe state, he resisted that allure and remained in the opposition till date – ensuring that ANPP which joined to berth APC remained intact and the winning party in Yobe State and the northeast at large. His conviction and vision has come to be manifest in the emergence of President Muhammadu Buhari today under the APC’s banner. Thirdly, I would love to see a senate president that inspires the down trodden to aspire for the highest seat in the land. It is my humble opinion that Lawan’s emergence will instantly inspire millions of Nigerians who are the ‘children of nobody’ and further drive home the message that surnames cannot serve as privileges and be recognized by mere mentions. This will give each and every Nigerian the opportunity to thrive in the country we collectively own. In- addition, it is pertinent that for the sake of stability, that credibility and credence be highly considered a factor as ascending to a post as sensitive as the Senate presidency necessitates that one should not have any excess baggage with him or her. As proven in the past, these are usually booby traps used to achieve peculiar interest, albeit politically most times. For Lawan, who has never been indicted or faced any criminal or civil charge, this says millions of his persona and character. The fact that of the five elections that he has won, only once has he been dragged to a tribunal (in 2011, where he won against PDP) says volume of his electoral conduct also. The added advantage of this is that the Senate President upon election would immediately hit the ground running and not be distracted by summons and lawyers but squarely aid in giving Nigerians the real change in governance as it relates to meaningful life. Nigerians would not all vote but be represented by their senators. I believe that in electing a Senate president, the interest of Nigerians as well as continued stability of our democracy must be taken into consideration and held utmost in the minds of our distinguished citizens. Having served as the House committee chairman on Education and Agriculture before his present appointment as the chairman Senate committee on Public Accounts, Lawan who is happily married blessed with children cuts the picture of the perfect senate president. The Senate will surely strive under his leadership with his envisaged deputy, Sen. George Akume, as well as with the support of all other loyal party members across geo-political divides. Nigerians indeed look forward to his swearing in on Tuesday.
http://leadership.ng/opinions/438344/senate-presidency-lawan-on-the-threshold-of-history Nigeria politics does not have anything like better candidate.if you're on good record with the Oga at the top and political environment favours you,you don win be that |
Politics › Re: Senate Presidency: Consensus Candidate Tears APC Apart by lawrsmith(m): 3:18pm On Jun 04, 2015 |
miserflirt: There is palpable tension in the All Progressives Congress (APC), as its National Working Committee (NWC) looks to have decided on a consensus candidate for the plum position of the Senate President in the 8th Senate. The decision by the NWC aims to draw up criteria that would be used to determine the best candidate for the position during the inauguration of the 8th Senate has started generating tension. During its meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari last Tuesday night, the NWC was said to have listed certain critical criteria, which the next Senate President must posses. The meeting, among other agreements, had agreed that the Party’s candidate for the post must come from the geopolitical zone with the second highest number of votes, after the North- West during the Presidential election held on March 28. The Party leadership also agreed that the next Senate President must not have any corruption charges hanging on his or her neck, and should be one of the most ranking senators in the current Fourth Republic. A senator, who attended the meeting, hinted that the leadership of the Party was mandated to, within three days, present the most eligible aspirant as consensus candidate for the post based on the listed criteria during inauguration next week. The two gladiators currently contesting the office of the Senate President are: Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki and Senator Ahmad Lawan. Two groups, the ‘Like Minds Senators’ and ‘Senate Unity Forum’, who were supporting the candidature of Saraki and Lawan, respectively, had claimed to have secured the endorsement of enough numbers of senators to win the race. While the Saraki camp has compiled and come out with a list containing the names of 34 APC senators- elect, the Lawan loyalists merely claimed that 40 APC senators-elect have endorsed the Yobe senator as their own consensus candidate. The development has crated serious confusion because there are just 59 APC senators-elect that are expected to be inaugurated in the 8th Senate, following the death of Senator Ahmed Zannah last month. Some elected senators, who bared their minds on the burning issue yesterday, expressed fears that the decision of the APC to use criteria that are considered strange to the rules of the Senate and Constitution could be counterproductive. The Party is alleged to have plans to announce its preferred candidate between Lawan and Saraki during a meeting with the senators-elect today in Abuja. But those, who reacted to the issue, urged the leadership of the Party to allow the most popular aspirant to emerge through a due process that would be free, fair, credible and generally acceptable to all concerned. In his reaction, the Coordinator of the Like Minds Senators-elect, Senator Dino Melaye, cautioned the NWC against too much interference in the affairs of the Senate. Melaye maintained that the Senate is guided by rules. www.theunion.com.ng/senate-presidency-consensus-candidate-tears-apc-apart/ united we stand, divided we fall,APC be warn, it is too early to hear this kind story from you guys |
