The cool thing about the app is – it runs on background check on your Android phone and captures pictures of its surroundings which it sends you. This is achieved through a ‘web-based’ control center for the app, whereby users can choose to activate a “mugshot” feature which accesses the secondary camera (the front facing camera) of your missing or stolen Android phone, thereby captures photos of whatever or whomever might be in front of the lens. The photo’s are secretly taken -– so if your phone is with a thief, he or she will not know the pics are being taken -– and captured photos can be viewed directly through the app’s web-based control center or emailed to a pre-determined address of your choosing (cool huh?). Read more here - http://techinfomania.com/2012/10/recover-stolen-android-phone-kasperskys-mobile-security-app/ please note the app is available for Android phones only at the moment.

A 32 year old mother of five (5) was fatally killed by a border police she ran her car against. The said woman used her car to hit and carried the boarder police still on the car bumper several meters before the police office somehow managed to escape being smashed to death got away from the car and opened shot at the woman! About five (5) bullets were left on her in various spots including her arms, her cheek, and her face. The husband is seeking justice, but what can you say about it? The police officer claims "it was in self-defense" http://xtremegists.com/2012/10/woman-shot-fatally-after-allegedly-hitting-border-police/

OUYA is a new very super cheap android video gaming console, boasting to beat Xbox, Playstation and Nintendo with a delivered Android super clear gaming experience. READ... The project has captured the imagination of gamers and tech fans who have pumped over $5 million into the project, and it still has 21 days to go. The funding smashed through OUYA’s initial target of $950,000 before the end of its first day. The OUYA team makes many promises on the Kickstarter project page – the biggest being that it can deliver a game console for just $99. It claims that at the heart of the console will be a Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM, along with 8GB of internal storage. Connectivity options include WiFi, Bluetooth and USB 2.0. Based on Android 4.0, the OUYA is being touted as a developer’s dream, and an antidote to the expensive closed systems of Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo. Each unit will come with an SDK for users to start making their own games, and all games will be free to try before you buy. Designs on the console The company is working with designer Yves Behar and his fuseproject team to design the console and its controllers which feature dual analogue sticks, a D-Pad, buttons and even a touchpad. The open nature of the means that its functionality isn’t just limited to gaming, so we could also see it become a capable Smart TV add-on, for instance. According to the project page, the prototype is “up and running”. It remains to be seen whether the team can really deliver on its $99 console promise. Even with $5 million in the bank it’s unlikely to be easy. Do you think this $99 Android gaming console would work magic and make huge bucks while delivering a sound and interesting gaming perspective to tackle other big games in the gaming world?? Read more about this on http://techinfomania.com/2012/07/ouya-99-android-console-boasts-5m-in-kickstarter-funding/ Also checkout this amazing screenshot of the prototype controller, though I don't like the fact that all buttons are O.

The social network uses automated software to seek out inappropriate language in an attempt to snare sexual predators, Reuters reports. The article makes the example of a man in his 30s who arranged to meet a 13 year-old girl after middle school through Facebook chat. The software automatically flagged up the post to Facebook employees who alerted the police, who apprehended the man and took his computer. He denies charges. Facebook gone wild Law enforcement agents have praised Facebook for the speed of their response. “There are companies out there that are doing a very good job, working within the confines of what they have available,” said FBI agent Brooke Donahue. “There are companies out there that are more concerned about profitability.” Our guess is Facebook ain’t too interested in “profitability” even though the giant social network went on it’s infamous IPO, what we still can’t phatom is going far to track users private messages. Spy Hawk 5MP camera Plane for Geeks The Spy Hawk RC plane is now available to pre-order offering up what on the surface may be just another remote-controlled plane but instead is something much more advanced with an auto-assist mode and 5-megapixel camera on board. With a wingspan of 84cm the Spy Hawk is light, portable and comes with a 600m range and flying time of up to 30mins heavy acrobatics. On board there’s a 5MP camera which then feeds live images down to a 3.5-inch high-resolution screen on the remote and thanks to a 4-channel system you can have more than one of them chomping air at the same time. Recording high-quality video and sound to a 4GB Micro SD the 5MP camera not only acts as an extra set of eyes for flying but can also record your adventures whether it’s skimming over the tops of trees or scaring the living daylights out of poor unsuspecting relatives. Finally, in case you’re not the Biggles you thought you were, there’s an auto-assist mode which helps stabilise the plane plus the Sky Hawk is made from EPO crash-resistant foam which will take the wincing out of those unfortunately unplanned landings. The Spy Hawk RC plane would be quite useful for other spying activities not just for fun and recreation… Visit http://techinfomania.com/2012/07/pre-order-out-for-spy-hawk-5mp-camera-rc-plane for more details and video of it's flight

While Facebook frequently takes heat over privacy issues and continual changes to the look and feel of its website, the social network wants you to know it can also do some good as well-including encouraging users to become organ donors. Facebook introduced a subtle new feature to your profile on Tuesday. But if you had blinked, you might have missed it. Tucked away among life events in the Health & Wellness section of your Timeline is a new option to become an organ donor, and share your decision with other Facebook friends. Broader awareness Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg calls the new Timeline feature part of “a life-saving initiative” to create “broader awareness about organ donation.” So Facebook a life-saver?! “By simply telling people that you’re an organ donor, the power of sharing and connection can play an important role,” Zuckerberg explained, noting that 18 Americans die each day waiting for organ transplants that never come. If you’re not sure how to get started as a donor, the Facebook link allows users to register to become an organ, eye or tissue donor, then share this proud accomplishment with the rest of your social network. The feature is currently only available for Facebook users in the U.S., who may “Like” this latest addition to one of their favorite social networking.
