With a heavy heart I commiserate with the families of the departed warriors. With tears flowing down my cheeks I honor my departed senior colleagues who have just sacrificed their lives that others may live.

Be it known that there is no other way more glorious and honorable to exit.

I do not pity you. Rather, I celebrate you. Death is a debt that must paid. My heroes, you just paid yours in a gallant way.

EducationRe: The medical students and aspirants thread by lebienconnu(m): 10:57pm On Apr 15, 2016
Hi colleagues,

Please rejoice with me. Precisely, on the 23 March, 2016 after the meeting of the examiners board in my school bordering on the then just concluded part three MB, I was considered proficient enough in the basic medical sciences and rewarded with promotion to part 4. You guys know what that means. I have crossed over to the clinicals where we get to apply all we have been learning in Anatomy, Physiology and Medical Biochemistry. The battle was really bloody.

While I advise my juniors to keep the candles burning I am also calling on my seniors to aid me with words of advice that will facilitate my journey through the impending task which I know is herculean.
.
To all medical aspirants, I want to say medicine is really worth it. Aspire to acquire what you desire. Do not give in to the people that discourage. The truth is that they have burning passion for medicine but they believe it's beyond their reach. Move with people that share your passion or appreciate it. This will positively reinforce your actions and the probability of success will be augmented. To survive in the college, positive reinforcers are both invaluable and indispensable.

Stay away from people with badbelleistic tendencies. They are your worst enemies. Listen to them :
"I know a doctor, he is my sister's brother's uncle nephew. He is so poor he can't even pay his children school fees"
Imagine hearing this when preparing for almighty Anatomy in part three MB. Your spirit might be weakened and this might be detrimental to your performance.

To my colleagues in UI preparing (or has it started?) for the part three MB (battle, rather) I unleash you. Let out a loud roar and strike them dead with no mercy and come back with positive results, no excuse. Although, your MB is child's play compared to that of the Jerusalem of Struggle and Mecca of Military where I am, fortunately and unfortunately, destined to be.

Greateeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeest ife.

Nairaland MODS

Why are you quick to mock Christianity but treat Islam with reverence.

Any story mocking Christianity hits the front pages, while at the sametime you will not dare insult islam.
Even when the evidence is overwhelming you will never put islamic stories on front page.

You need to start treating Christianity with respect.

I am not saying that if this story is true which I doubt, that is good.
But we all know that if this was an imam mentioned nobody will put it on front page.

Unless you are all saying that nobody cares about islamic stories or that they are not important enough to make front page.

Please MODS give Christians the same respect you give Islam.

We never threaten anybody but expect respect from all the MODS.
Nigeria is a very complex nation with all these religionists and hypocrites everywhere. So the mods are now biased because they moved this to the front page? I have lost the count of the number of time I have seen similar posts about Muslim clerics.

Guy you really need to help yourself.

If it's not the military killing unarmed civilians it's the police killing armless citizens because of N20 or killing innocent students carrying out peaceful protest. Why?

Are these terrorists not worse than BokoHaram? I answer in affirmative because these one pretend to be our friends and they live and mingle freely with us.

By this time of yesterday, these guys were reading their books in preparation for their exams which, thanks to the terrorists in the police uniform, they would never write.

The enormity of this havoc is unimaginable. Is it the life or death journey of pregnancy or the perilous act of delivery that we should start with? What about the agony of keeping up in the night to attend the limitless needs of the baby? The parents really sowed with their blood and sweat hoping to see their children become someone in life.

Ah, what a tragic end.

God said do not bow to idols but POpe Francis loves to bow to idols
Exodus 20 (KJV)
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above,
or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them:
for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third
and fourth generation of them that hate me

Pope Francis loves Idols that God hates.
He kiss idols that God commands not to do

1 Kings 19:18
Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel,
all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.

The Pope is trying to foster peace among the different religious groups and you are not happy about it.

In my humble opinion, I think we should leave no stone unturned to make e sure we are at peace with each other irrespective of our religious background.
Let us live in peace. The Pope is a prophet of peace and not a false one like you assert.

I, for instance, believe that God is limitless. That He has no partner in His kingdom and I also testify to His absolute oneness. On the day of judgment, let Him put me in hell if I am wrong. Let Jesus sentence me for not believing he is God but His messenger. That is me. Not you.

O ye hyper-religous morafoka , get the Pope's message of peace and pass it on not condemn it.

snthesis:
dear doctors, the solution is simple

....outsource your debt recovery

get the patient to sign the fees prior to treatment (get all the personal details as well i.e address place of work etc), if he/she fails to honor the agreement, simply hand over the case to debt recovery agents (consider them as modern day bounty hunters)- this agent should collect your fees plus a % for doing the dirty work. the % will be borne by the patient ofcourse. its a win -win situation.
and for the business minded folks- its a bizness opportunity to set urself up as a debt recovery agency... awoof money especially if you are a tout already grin grin grin just make sure you have legal backing.

I want to believe this is a joke. A university graduate is supposed to have at least a C6 in English language. There is no way someone that passed English in SSCE and answered all questions in English language throughout his University education would write this type of grammar.

It is definitely a joke. I have come across a similar composition intentionally written in crooked grammar but yet passed across a very important information. If you are not patient enough you won't get the message.

Both of them have tried OAU post Utme severally. The best they could pull was 95/400 for the op and 56/400 for the mod.

TravelRe: Trailers Crash And Burn Along Oyo-Ogbomosho Expressway (photos) by lebienconnu(m): 9:57pm On Feb 12, 2016
Let me tell you the truth. The real cause of deaths on the Nigerian roads is not bad roads. On the contrary, bad roads have saved more lives than they have claimed.

The main cause of accidents on our roads is over speeding. Followed by second hand tyres. Recently, an accident was reported in a university environment where the roads are free of pot holes. The VC even clamored for more bumps to serve as speed breakers.
Also, a bus conveying members of staff and some students of a well known polytechnic was, not very long ago, involved in a ghastly motor accident on an impeccable road. Precious lives were untimely cut short. Guess what caused the mishap. A tyre bursted when the drive on excessive speed.

Misunderstand me not. I am not exonerating bad road as a causal agent of some accidents. What am I then saying? Bad road is not exclusively culpable for these unfortunate incidences and even at times serves as blessing in disguise.

I cite yet one more example to further drive home my point. Just last week, many eyes beheld an accident on the famous third mainland bridge. A camry private car rammed into a tipper. The car was on a speed so extreme that words can not describe.

I once heard an elderly man relate an incident about the venerable General Olusegun Obasanjo when the stake holders of a community approached him to facilitate the upgrading of a road that passed through the community to an express, he asked them one question. How many accidents have you witnessed on this road in the past few years? None. They replied. Is it not better you leave it like this? Okikiola opined. Today, the road has been upgraded and unfortunately, number of accidents being witnessed in that community is better imagined.

Today, the then stake holders can not help but be consensus ad idem with Okikiola. But it is too late.

In summary I say, leave the roads as they are until we evolve into more careful road users.

My opinion though.
EducationRe: Medical Students Protest, Lock UNILAG Gate (Photos) by lebienconnu(m): 7:50am On Feb 12, 2016
Henceforth, the school should admit fewer students in accordance with the MDCN quota. It is very difficult to get admission to study medicine these days.

The system in my school is different. Once you have no carry over, you are automatically promoted to year 2. I can feel the pain of those affected because many waited for so many years before getting the course and most unfortunately, UTME has closed.

The management should find a way to help the guys. Even, if they have to reduce their next intake and make some of them spill over to the next session.
