Do not exceed your allowable stay in the uk as a visitor which is 6 months. However you can change your visa when you get a sponsor. To apply from within the uk is usually about 8 weeks. Also no employer will allow you start working if this is not sorted out. so apply early.
Good luck

Are you certain of this your "however "? It is clear on gov.uk that you Cannot change some visas to another visa category.

The best and even the worst immigration solicitors would advise you use monies you'd had use to pay them and buy a return ticket home and do the needful.
If you have a sponsor what is difficult in returning home and complete a very easy process with no stress, rather than trying to force or bend things that may not be bendable.....

Good day my people. I don’t know if anyone has an ideas if it’s possible for one to change from UK visitor visa to any other visa class (work etc) within the UK that will keep one status legal beyond 6 months. Kindly share any information via email please.

NONE to the bolded.....Return home, if before the elections, you will be able to vote in the coming elections, and then apply for the right category of visa and return to the UK afterwards at some point.....

Don't overstay and make future UK visitor applications difficult for Nigerians.

Good morning people, please I need your advice on this.

My brother wants to apply for UK visa renewal. Has been issued visa thrice before and the last one was 2 year visa. He eqrms about 800k monthly from a good organisation. The challenge is that he hardly deducts from his monthly salary leaving his balance at about N5m with a debit of less than 300k.in six months.

His expenses of about 200k monthly are from his savings account with bank A which he doesn't want to add because there was a POF payment that passed through it during the period. He has another account with bank B that has some inflow and outlflows too but not that much as his other savings account in Bank A.

He wants to reapply for 2 years....but worried that ECO would wonder why no debits on the salary account.

What do you advise?

Thanks

He should present his savings account where he does is expenditure on, and state in the form as you have explained.

Can someone explain this statement to me from the ukvi website?

You must have this money for at least 28 consecutive days. The end date of the 28-day period must be within 31 days of the date you apply for your visa.

What is difficult in that...

You have 28-31 days in a month.
You are required to hold a certain amount for at least 28 days consecutively (i.e day to day for 1.......28 days).
It could be from any date, but must kept for consecutive days... thus if within the 28days the amt falls below the figure needed, the cycle has been broken and needs a restart
For instance 15th of ..... to 12th of the next month(+/- 3/1 or nothing if it were a 28/30 days month)

Although a cover letter is not a required document, as I mentioned in the post you quoted, I
still believe an applicant should write one if he or she thinks that will help the visa application.

Bro, I am still learning. I am not an expert in this visa thing. Anyway, thanks for that information.

Learn something else, leave cover letter alone sir/madam.

A cover letter or introduction letter is not mentioned in the list of required documents for a visa application, but it’s still very important to write one.

The cover letter introduces you and the purpose of your travel.
It states every important thing you want to tell the consulate. It is also used to explain the documents you're planning to submit with your application.

The application does all that itself, and the additional comment section is sufficient enough to fill up things. The talk of this cover letter has become too often yet it is quite inconsequential

Please is it possible for someone who is on a visiting visa renew their Nigerian passport at the embassy in the uk?

Possible I suppose, but delays may be problematic, do make sure it does not cause you to overstay. Yet, you can also travel back to Nigeria on the expired passport.

Your wife and your kids are your dependents. There will be no eyebrow raised with you traveling with just one of your children. You can explain why in a letter (may not be necessary though, but just to stay at a safe edge).

No entirely. With all due respect, the wife is older than 17, she may be working, self dependent/financially buoyant and don't rely on her husband for her personally needs. If what he contributes to the family is just for children upkeep and not the wife inclusive then his wife isnt dependent on him.

Please shed more light on the bolded.

If you have 1mil opening bal. The eco looking at your financial docs should be able to reach some sort of hypothetical calculations from your presented bank docs, on how you have saved up the 1m. Thus the eco would put into consideration income(monthly and yearly), expenditure and perhaps monthly savings to know if you would get a refusal or given a chance to use the lebera sim they gave you at the submission center.

Compliments of the season everyone.

I would like to know if one must have a hotel reservation on arrival at the UK.
During visa application, my sister and her family submitted a hotel reservation. The visa came after the expected date so they cancelled the reservation (as advised on this forum).
However, my other sister and her family live in the UK and they have a big enough house.
Do they still have to do a hotel reservation even though they intend staying in my sister's place?
Does my younger sister have to give them any letter to take along in case they are being questioned on arrival at the airport?
PLEASE HELP cos it's different in France where I live.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP.

You can cancel the reservation

Hi My People,
How are yo guys doing tickets now?
For a family of 4, the prices that are available are from 4.9M naira....
Dates are anything between now and January 9.
Minimum 10 days trip.
Any way around?
Thanks

Try a later date in Jan.
Also, it may interest you sometime around midnight 02:00am and early mornings 05:00-06:00 try wakanow for some reasons they drop their ticket prices at such time. But you must be sure to fill in correct info and be fast as the prices are flash and wasted time the price would go back high....

I have dealt with Nigerians and know emotional blackmail when I see one.
I believe the OP has been a guest and follows this thread. The OP knows what y'all think of an agent.
Most people on Nairaland claim brother, sister, cousin, aunty, or use another moniker.
The lines make them predictable.
HONESTY is a very expensive gift.
FYI That's the same way this ECO sees our applications now...Who cares if your company was active on the CAC registry in the past?!

PS: I understand this a thing of yours, and I am not in the trading of words business!

AND YOU; WHAT DO YOU THINK OF AGENTS?
If you wanted to sell your services to the op, should have done so, not going about claiming to know something you don't.
come here and be claiming UK HMRC Nostrademus.

What do you suggest we do in this situation?
My mum has about N6m in her bank account which is the monthly allowance we all send to her, she doesn’t really use it like that cus she lives in my brother’s house & he takes care of all her monthly expense. So can we reapply & make her the sponsor of her trip?
If we still have to use my brother as the sponsor, can we just use his personal account in Nigeria where he received salary from his company? Then we can mention that he is a student & relies on the salary from his Naija company to survive in UK.
I am just looking for a way to make the visa work without circumventing the procedures.
Pls I need suggestions.

Your brother has a business you claim and 15m to his name and earns salaries.
Mum has 6m, which are gifts from offspring.
Brother visit naija every 2months to monitor his business.
You have always put in successful UK applications i don't see why this is difficult you.

Given the above claims.
Why does your brother need to work more than 20hrs?, To me the profile you have painted won't be working in the UK as should have some sort of financial stability, yet, not to mention a care role which is draining.
How does he meet up with studies attendance and commitment given overtime work, travel to Nigeria and spending time with family in the UK.
I think other OPs are being too nice to lead you, I don't know if they eventually help enough that you are able to indeed circumvent the decision on your next application.
But then all best.

Hi Guys,

I uploaded a wrong Ielts Reference number when filling my Skilled work visa application.

I used the reference number that was sent to my mail from the British council to confirm my test date. I will be going for my biometric on the 5th of January. How can I rectify this error on my application form.

Will uploading the ielts test result at TLS suffice?

I will appreciate the aid and guide

Upload the test cert as part of your supporting documents if self-upload or assisted. The eco can still verify your cert that way.

I don't know why you quoting me asking this rhetorical question but be rest assured I don't have time to go back and forth with you. Go and read between the lines where he mentioned the agent he used asked him not to include his bank statement in the UK

There's nothing rhetorical about the question. An agent asking you not to supply a document doesn't mean you playing a system, it may just be from a point of ignorance or incompetence of the agent on the said thing..
it is unfair to make the op look like a demon when that may not be the case. Stop judging books by just few lines!!!

The 4K pounds is a combination of Naira that he converted to Pounds from Naija plus the wages for the care job he does over there in UK as a student.

It was an agent that helped him apply & the agent said there was no need to add his UK acct since the Naija account was well funded as at that time.
@giselle237 pls help me, I don’t want him to give it to an agent again that’s why I had to take it up myself because I have read it here several times that agents always put people in trouble & I have always done my own UK visa applications by myself without any refusal at all. The denial is clear. Your brother is a student, and I wonder if he invited your mom to his graduation. I already knew he was violating his visa and working more hours.
You were playing the blame game.
You won't want to hear the truth at this point. Your brother is a student. He is not in a good position to sponsor your mom.
You should be careful with all these applications you are doing because I believe in the future, he would love to convert his student visa.
Don't let the past haunt him! Abroad have a good database.

How did you know before hand, are you the sponsor or did you help fill the form?

Instead just a status update online. Can I travel out and return to UK without a valid BRP? Thanks ahead
