I know I'm worse. Growing up they tried punishing me and forcing me to eat those things it was counter productive. I just decide not to eat anything instead.

They let me be cool. I outgrew some of those aversion sha, but not all

Yes I'm still a picky eater but not as bad I used to be. When I was younger, I only eat ewedu prepared freshly. Once the ewedu is preserved till the next day I won't eat it. I also don't eat ewedu that has egusi mixed together, it must be purely ewedu.

In fact I the only soup I eat then is efo riro and freshly made ewedu with stew. I don't eat egusi and vegetable, ogbono (my mum calls it Akpon), we don't eat okra generally, gbegiri and I don't eat that plain egusi soup without vegetable. So then swallow was a big deal for me.

I also don't eat carrot, pawpaw and fresh fish. I eat most of those things now, but not all.

I served in the north and for a whole year the food items I survived on were bread, yam, potatoes, beans, rice, spaghetti, noodles, porridge, Plantain, mango, sugarcane, oats, eggs and Amala ( which I only ate about 3 times towards the ending of my service year when I discovered a Yoruba Buka in town)
Here I am, thinking I'm picky. Well, I've just met the vice President, picky eaters association cheesy.

Wow! Is that really egusi seeds?

Looks more like Ukwa to me. I started craving for Ukwa immediately I saw it. cheesy
It's Egusi o. Lol..... Now you're making me crave for ukwa even though I've tasted it just 3 times
BlueRayDick:
My mum used to do this a long time ago. She fries the egusi a hot pot withot adding any oil to the pot. When it's crispy brown she takes it off fire.

If u pop the egusi in Ur mouth at that stage it tastes better than ground nut. I remember how I used to scoop a hand full and go to devour it when she's not looking grin

She blends the egusi with pepper and onions after which she will cook it without adding vegetable, just meat and fish. I however do not like the soup she makes from it afterwards. In fact I don't join the whole house in eating from it. I don't understand how one will eat egusi alone without vegetable.

I was really picky as a child. A whole lot of food I just don't like eating.
Funny thing is I've never seen anyone preparing it that way. Roasted Egusi truly tastes better than groundnut but I can't bring myself to try it
I'll try to blend it next time with pepper and onions..... There's also another way of blending Egusi with onion to make it come out like Awara
Are you still a picky eater?

Giddyperson:
Stop force feeding please. Find one food she can tolerate even a few spoons of. And just give her a few spoons of it every 30 mins, she'd take more of it with time. And after a month you can introduce something else. Always start with lots of patience, if she's accepting just 3 spoons of cerelac, then stick to making just that size until she starts to want more. Try garri and soup too, you never know what she might like.

You can wean her too if you want, would be tough but in less than two weeks she'll be eating other foods. She'll cry at first but she'll get used to it. Just let someone else feed her , and avoid being in the same room with her all day as much as you can for a week. Many babies reject all other foods when breastmilk is on the menu.
Thanks ma.

Good morning mothers in the house, Please I need help....
My daughter sucks as if my breast is going into extinction and it's making my nipples hurt me a lot. Once she sees breast open, she'll just put her mouth, if I'm covered, she either drags the cloth until she gets her way, tear it if it's fragile or cry till I answer her. Right now, they're both red and if she attempts to suck, it hurts a lot.
She's 9 months old, rejects cereals, pap and other foods. I've tried mashed purée and the rest yet, it's not working and I had to start force feeding her so she won't loose weight and even after I just finish force feeding her, she'll still want to suck breast. It's now looking like an addiction.
Wanted to breastfeed her till she's 18months old but right now, I'm thinking twice. Would it be right to wean her now or I should wait till she's a year old? And what's the guarantee that she'll start eating food when I wean her?

You're so right about the meat being stale these days.

My experience this very evening: I sent someone to buy me goat meat from the market here and he came back with the pictures below. I'm sad cos my money is wasted.

Is this not how Coronavirus even started? The goat they slaughtered to sell to innocent buyers is obviously diseased!

#ViewersDiscretionAdvised Please
Heart of man is indeed wicked. How can they sell such?
Pocohantas you're making me laugh with the meme
