PETAN is body of Indigenous Oil and Gas Companies.

Most in PH. Some in Lagos.

Being retained is not automatic.
But about 40-50% of the interns get retained based on factors like:
1. Company's need at the time
2. Performance of the intern.

Just expect the best.
It's a great opportunity to build your career experience.

How sellable can one be in eventuality of not been retained after the internship within the oil and gas industry?

Brother I don't knw if ppl included their CGPA's in the CVs but for me fear nor let me. I was even scared to wear my Hugo boss perform to the interview. Everytin I did that day was just normal. I didnt even wear my best suit and shoe. I only made sure I appeared clean. I nor fit price myself comort for the Job coz I need help. Did anyone do same?

From what I heard, offer was made to buhari to bring his candidate but he declined. He said the process shld be free and fair and that all Nigerians are his candidate.

So guys let's be hopeful. There will surely be some level of fairness

For the GMD to have said soon, I am sure he is optimistic that MoP will approve the list when he arrives. (well, Kyari could also do the job of taking the list to him for approval)

The notification should be out say any moment from the time of arrival of the MoP IF there is provision in the corporation's recruitment protocol that insists on approval of the MOP.

If it is approved early enough, the possibility of resumption this year is feasible, else, we resume next year.

Honestly speaking guys, have u noticed the trend? Quite a number of people seems to be seriously hurt. Ofcourse it has nothing to do with(influencing) this recruitment, but it just in a way gives me concern.

The reason I haven't responded to all the innuendos being spun here is that there is really no update to be given.
Definitely the list is ready and surely it has been sent out to the Minister as we all know. As far as I know,the court case has not been the reason why the list has not been released. They just haven't gotten around to it since the unfortunate delay caused by the whining politicians.
The Minister wanted to use it as an Independence gift to the nation but after the brief pause in the process, he has been in and out of the country since that list and the report of the committee was sent to him.
Now he has travelled with the GMD to Saudi Arabia and it is inconceivable that they won't talk about this process before they return to Nigeria from Riyadh. I am aware that the list is awaiting the Minister's go ahead.
Till when he has the time to approve its release, we wait with fingers still crossed!

If the onus of releasing the list lies within the arm of the President/MoP, I guess we are in for a long wait say Nov 17 till he arrives from his vacation in London.

Irregularities points to the switching/replacing of names so far noticed of people who didn't even write the test with those like all of you who went through the entire process.
Federal character issue was shot down immediately that kite was flown like I mentioned earlier as it has already played its part at the interview invitation stage.Post-interview,it has no place since your performance will not be a function of where you cone from.
May none of us be victims of political maneuvering after the sweat,tears and blood we have put into this process.

I just want to help a little bit with information that is available to me to help those in dire need of it.
I am a Managerial candidate and so I wasn't interviewed with most of you here.
Last week Thursday after the Presidential broadcast, the Minister of Petroleum ordered the NNPC Recruitment list as it was to be published. It was to be published in PUNCH newspaper.
There was pandemonium in Abuja as all the politicians and new management who have been lobbying for name replacements since Kyari took over would've been left without their candidates being put in the list.Even the Minister of Labour went to protest that the composition of the list didn't show Federal character as it was lopsided towards the West and not evenly spread.He was then educated that while Federal character may have a role in the invitation for interviews, only competence and merit are considered after passing the interview. He soft-pedalled but the other powerful politicians made so much noise that the Minister suspended the order to publish on Thursday,3rd October 2019 and gave them 5 working days to sort whatever irregularities they claimed was in the list before he went to South Africa for his 3-day visit. He is back now and will expect their report before it gets published. If he stays true to his first order,then this list will likely be out in the national dailies before emails and texts are even sent out.
I know kids of nowadays will complain about reading long write-ups. It is the bane of our country right now.
No insults please,I could have stayed in my corner just to read and watch misinformation fly all around.At our managerial level of application, our channels of communication with the NNPC are quite different. You may choose to believe or not.Have a great week, my people.

Are they saying that federal character will supercede the place of merit in the final list?
Or political lobbying will have its place?

Truth or lie I don't know but the rumor making rounds in the towers is that the new GMD NNPC groups, want to jettison this recruitment exercise on the grounds that it was marred with irregularities. On my own, I can not substantiate any compromise on the excercise, but I reliably heard that after we(NiG masses) finished our own interview section, a few person were hand picked for a special interview.

If you can recall Mekanti Baru was running things fast fast ,but since Mele Kyari assumed office, things has slowed down. Why?

Well, going by the selected being handpicked for interview, I don't think it is enough reason to cancelthe recruitment. A proper investigation could be carried out to look into that.

Going by kyari's profile as a man of integrity, that could be fixed... I hope "Nigeria" isn't bigger than him.
