Depends on where you live, $36,000 a year is not poverty for a single or married person, in fact the government does not even consider it poverty for a married couple with one child. In reality that amount is more than adequate for Montana, Alabama etc. but it would be suicidal in places like Los Angeles, Seattle and New York.

Not a lie, Cuz everything can be costly Abroad but not Food. with an avg minimum wage of $10/hr in the US, if you work 10hrs a day and get $100, I think you're settled for the month in terms of food and fooding stuffs. I wouldn't call myself a very fast driver, but, I hold my own. In 2018/19, when I was still doing contract driving jobs, I drove a woman and her kids from Ibadan to osogbo. On the way, I saw a BMW 5 series in front of me, having faith in the v6 evil spirit, I increased my speed and overtook it. (I later found out a woman was behind the wheels). The thing sweet me.

Suddenly, it started looking like the BMW was gaining. She finally leveled up, but, before she sped off, she looked at me with one yeye smile like this and off she went! . She went away so fast I doubted my speedometer. You know when you are on 110/115 and a car overtakes you like you are on 60kmh! I was so angry! I wanted to chase, but, I was reminded that, "na inside Honda we dey o and that's a 5 series BMW in the hands of a wicked woman". . I just took my L in peace.

I respected BMW more that day and I certainly feared women more!

No what I'm saying is that, my room was about to be rented and my things thrown out had it been I didn't pay to retain the room.
I payed October even with the sudden increment of the rent after I had payed which I had to complete, and this security guy said my rent is expiring march, that is the month I packed into the lodge as a new tenant.

Your ₦‎200,000 is $250 dollars or £200 It's practically NOTHING for even the poorest person in the UK/USA and only 0.5% of Nigerian workers earn that much. That about says it all, don't you think? The median income in the USA is $65,000 per year, meaning HALF of all families earn that and Nigerian immigrants are acknowledged as one of the better earning national groups in this country.

OK, someone earning £40,000 in the UK is poor, but Nigerians in that place still manage to send billions of dollars back to their relatives, they build houses, pay rent and health & education costs for their relatives.

That person earning £40,000 likely lives in an apartment with all basic amenities available 24 hours except in case of weather or disaster. Only 7% of Lagosians have that available to them. Low wage earners in the USA own cars, how many people own private car in Nigeria?

Even poor me that started out earning $3.50/hr in the USA, I managed within 7 years to build a house in Nigeria, buy car for my family and put myself through university with zero loan, I paid cash out of pocket.

The important thing is that only 0.5% of Nigerians earn the biggie ₦‎200K....not to talk of £20,000 per month You have nice dreams though.

Nigerians are POOR, they're suffering from debilitating poverty, that's why most people living in that country can't think straight. You're a perfect example. You and the other FAKE high earners in Nigeria are not worth discussing anything with. I believe what others have said on other threads - you're probably a frustrated university student or teen projecting their dreams.

Forget posting pay slips on Youtube, I've seen monthly paychecks of $40,000 for oil & gas engineers in Nigeria. So there's no argument about the EXISTENCE of such super earners. Please pay attention so we can have a useful discussion.

My question to you is, can you give us an educated guess as to HOW MANY PEOPLE earn that in Nigeria? What percentage of the population? I know for a fact, by my exposure and by research, that only 0.5% of Nigerians earn over ₦‎200K per month.

So how many people do you think earn £20,000/month in Nigeria? An educated estimate will do. Go ahead and tell us.

Also, what percentage of Nigerian families or adults live in homes with 24 hour electricity and flush toilets...which implies running piped water? I'm fairly certain that over 95% of the population in the UK have access to such basic amenities, even if they earn ONLY £18,000/year.

If you’re using the regular mobil 2000 (black cover) sold in the Nigerian market you should change it out after every 3000 miles (4,500 kms) or every 6 months if you’ve not driven that far in that timeframe. If it’s the usa mobil1 I’d suggest you use it till 5000 miles (7000 kilometers) or after a year If you’ve not driven as far as the above mileage.

Leave in the power steering and gearbox oil for now until you can go to oyingbo and buy the replacement Honda power steering fluid and the original dw1 transmission fluid. First use the vehicle for some months and observe how it functions before you start changing the transmission or power steering fluid.

But seriously, keep that vehicle very functional. If there are 100 people with that 2007 civic in Nigeria the people who have the exact configuration of yours won’t be up to 5. It’s a very rare car you’ve got right there.

Office based engineers in earn somewhere around ₦‎600K to ₦‎1 million per month. This I know, I've seen the paychecks for these people. The TOTAL EMPLOYMENT COUNT in the entire oil & gas industry in Nigeria is 65,000 persons, including drivers, gatemen, secretaries and cleaners. Chevron Nigeria has 600 permanent employees ONLY, anyone else working at Chevron is a temporary contractor. That's an industry I happen to know a bit about.

The TOTAL EMPLOYMENT COUNT for the Federal & State governments combined is about 2 million people. Averaged out, I don't believe they earn so much. How many of them do you think earn £1,000/month?

So could you please estimate for me...make an educated guess...of how many of these super earners there are in Nigeria? Seriously, I'm VERY interested.

I know they exist, I know a fellow who works remotely for Microsoft in Nigeria, he was in my home this past summer. I know another who has a fish farm and makes a lot of money, I know how he pays his workers, I also know how much artisans in the building and quarry trades were making when I employed them in Nigeria. So my close experience and information matches the research reports I've read from PWC and others that only 0.5% of workers in Nigeria earn more than ₦‎200K per month.

Again, it's not that these Super Earners don't exist, the real issue is HOW MANY OF THEM are out there in the Nigerian population? What are the chances that a random person you meet at Abuja Airport earns £1,000/month? That's the koko of the matter, that's more RELEVANT.

Anyway, to each their own. Believe what you want.

U still dont gerriit, Japa is fast lane, quick way to have initial money only if You have a plan and stick to it.I know a lady who just came via sponsorship route, she spent up to 6m to get here, she pack up her building material shop to do so.Now he has a plan sending 6m back to Nigeria nah change for hand cos as it stands that's less the £8k.U can imagine how long it took to gather N6m via trade in such way. while i was in Nigeria i could not save 200k comfortably in my audit firm job, driving a 2005 car, no money for holiday, access to world class healthcare equipment lol. In Canada at same audit firm, i could easily save 2k Canadian dols after tax and bills, drive a modern car, afford holidays etc. left the audit firm after a year to a better job. I’m an Honda fan so I’d advice you for the tokunbo of the Honda Civic 2012 model. Change go still remain from the 4.5.
Or you go for the naija used 2013/14 Honda Accord. Change no suppose remain.
These cars are easy to maintain and also command some prestige.

I would have advised VW Jetta 2013, but maintenance might be an issue esp for a first time owner.
