Car TalkRe: How you can process doctor's report for tinted glass by Lekan239(m): 7:35am On Nov 17, 2022
Quickk:
For those saying they bought an already tinted cars, permit for tinted glass is not issued to vehicles; rather it is issued to individuals and as such are personal and not transferable.
I just bought a toks car, and the glass is already tinted. What do I need to do?

Please and please. Follow up on this religiously
1. Know that the custom papers provided WILL BE 100% fake . Know this and have peace.
2. You should carry along a competent mechanic not one that would allow you buy a lemon so as to have a constant source of patronage from you when the car start acting up.
3. Ensure you open the bonnet and check the oil level and smell.. it can reveal a lot
4. If you start the engine and the radiator fan starts blowing immediately.. off engine and walk away.. they've tampered with the wiring .
Don't attempt to buy and fix later.
Same goes with AC and PS systems.
5. Ensure you drive long enough to allow all the 5 or 6 ears shift in and out.. also make sure the temp gauge gets to middle and listen to engine noise when idling.. if for any reason the seller is hesitant or reluctant to allow you reach decent speed. Kukuma drive back and walk away.
6. Make sure all the light and symbols on the dashboard comes on when you put the ignition to ON position. Many a dubious car dealer will use black tape to cover the check engine light and Airbag light to deceive many a gullible buyer.
7. Check the body thoroughly.. if you see any new paint work in patches especially the bumpers. Just walk away . It came through bush.
8. Check exhaust sound and smoke . A lot can be discerned fron that.
9. When driving the car. Check stability and centering. If the car feels off . It's most certain it's been involved in accident and written off as salvage only for our brethren to import and patch-fix in Ladino.
10. Finally. Even if all this checks out. Before you pay. Run a VIN NUMBER report.. abeg.. e get why..

Nothing like perfect car.. just aim to get something decent and safe to drive

thanks sir for this detailed explanation. A friend told me not to buy from any car dealer, that they probably must have tampered with the car and remove some stuff. He said he knows his way in getting good car from alaba or tincan. How true is getting a car from alaba directly from container?

Try alaba you might find one
Although most of the car they bring are right hand drive cars when you buy you convert it to left hand drive which is more suitable for Nigerian
planning on coming to alaba tomorrow to buy car

FamilyRe: My Dad And I Aren't In Good Terms by Lekan239(m): 11:36am On Nov 10, 2022
Enacto:
Good evening, this is my first time posting here and it because I'm kinda troubled pls I will need you guys to help me on this issue.

Since 2020 I have not been in good terms with my dad, and it all started with a little fight about drinking of the water in the fridge and my dad decided to lock the sitting room where the fridge was kept restricting my mom and myself to the room alone as at this time I was in 400lvl and 24years.

My dad doesn't drop money and home so I had to look for means to feed myself which was really new to me cos he has been the one sending money to me in school even thou he doesn't drop at home.

After then we kept having issues about him not giving me a private room in the house even up till now, then on a day like that an issue happened after I beating my 3years old niece he was so angry that he hits me severally at a conered spot that he almost hit my eyes I had to push him on the bed and ran out of the house, then the second day I packed my stuff's and left for school throughout 2021 I didn't come home till December and he didn't bother calling or sent me money not my school fee and project fee I did everything on my own.

I came home late last year and apologized and later I asked him for my school fee which I had not paid as at that time, he kept giving me excuses which I Know he has and left after much talk he gave me #50,000 out of like #150,000 but sincerely I didn't collect it cos I don't know where to get the remains then I got a job and saved up and paid.

Presently I'm very mad at him because he never cared about me or my mum, all he does with his money is to give it to his concubines. It really painful that I had to work for 7-9hours everyday while standing for 1k per day and my dad is out there spending his money for one LovePeddler.

Do u think he deserves my forgiveness??
Eni to ni fila o Lori. Eni to Lori ko ni fila. Non of my parent has ever given me or paid 50k cash for me before

2ndly, the landlord's 2 elder brothers living with us used up money meant for Nepa bill and toilet bill contributed among the tennants for themselves. So, they said we should contribute money again but i refused that was what led to the disagreement btw i and my landlord. He was siding his brothers. Note: I'm the only Christian in the compound, the rest are Yoruba muslims(including the landlord's brothers) and one Hausa muslim man in the compound. And the brothers of the landlord are fetish. They have used Juju to close the mouths of other tenants to complain, because their juju didn't have any effect on me, they see us as threats and wants us pack out.
typical igbo. This is how dey behave and dey won't stop leaving their own region

which Kasala? Canada is not south Africa or some Arab country. Majority of Nigerians are here as PR. When you come in as PR, you get citizenship in 3 years. Even as PR, you have as many benefits as a citizens except the right to vote and join military. All that will change once you get citizenship.

And Canadians are generally very polite, kind and nice.

PoliticsRe: Pastor Adeboye Criticises FG Over Plan To Redesign Naira by Lekan239(m): 11:34pm On Nov 05, 2022
nduchucks:
With dye respect, Adeboye sounds like an illiterate when it comes to monetary policies and basic economics.

The redesign of the naira will drastically reduce the demand for foreign currencies in the black market. The demand for foreign currency is very high because the thieves that have stashed billions of naira inside their homes and anywhere except the banks have been rushing to the black market to convert the loot to dollars.

The redesign will checkmate this stress on the naira. The redesign should reduce the demand for the dollar in the black market with a positive effect on the black market exchange rate.

Note that the official exchange rate has been stable and if you have a legitimate business reason, you can purchase the dollar for example, for N438 or so.

If we want to make the dollar stronger, we should reduce our imports and focus on exports, among other things. This has nothing to do with the redesign of the naira.

Adeboye should spend more energy and Redeem's money to help lift the poor out of poverty than on criticizing a great move by the government.

P.S. the dollar will be worth N1,000 soon with or without redesign of the naira. We need to deal with the root cause of the fall of the naira.
since they announced naira redesign, naira has been on free fall. The thief's are busy changing thier loot to dollar using black market aboki

TV/MoviesRe: "Elesin Oba Passes Check On Cinematography, Storyline" - Shola-Adido Oladotun by Lekan239(m): 11:18pm On Nov 05, 2022
HomeTutorsPro:
I just finished watching the movie.
Two things that didn't go well.

1. When Elesin Oba was in detention, he spoke Yoruba to the white man. The white man responded in English. There was no interpreter.
Did the Traditional Yoruba chiefs who did not have western education understand English?
Did the White men who came to Yorubaland during that time understand Yoruba?

2. Just before Elesin climbed the table to hang himself with the chains on his hands, the white and his guards saw him.
He climbed, wrapped the chain around his neck, pushed the table down and the white man and his guards were still struggling to open the cell lock.
Meanwhile, when Iyaloja arrived, it took the white man less than 5 seconds to open the lock.
Even if it took that long to open the lock, the time was too short for Elesin to have died.

You hit the mail on the head. The issue of inverters is fairly new to me… they weren’t a thing when I left Nigeria. I can admit Nigerians can build homes, but frankly so what? I own my home, through the mortgage system. I have enough equity in it to build 2-3 mansions in Nigeria. But here’s what I can’t compromise - peace/security, excellent schools that are free for the first 16 years of my child’s life, excellent healthcare system, which means every medical issue isn’t potentially life threatening, never having to “pray” for visas just to travel to South Africa. There are way too many intangibles we tend to ignore when we reduce everything to “I can build a house outright”.

As @Treadway himself admits, he benefits from a Nigeria having little to no regulations… that is a non-starter for me. I like an ordered society where I don’t have to drive past mounds of rotting garbage daily on my way back to my mansion sealed off with 15 foot barbed wire fences.
agreed is better than Nigeria. Nigeria is better than Niger. Niger citizens do migrate to Nigeria and start doing our dirty jobs. is better than Nigeria, Nigeria citizens do migrate to USA to do thier dirty jobs

Bankowner:
Have you tried to build a house in Nigeria to know what it is like?
You say we can't afford to buy a house without mortgage but do you know how much the 5% down-payment for that mortgage is? Can you confidently say you can afford that as you are in Nigeria?
Let me break it down to you. You want to buy a town house of say $800,000 but before you can go for a mortgage you need $40,000 cash as down-payment. Whether you like it or not, convert that $40k to naira and tell me if that won't build a comfortable house in Nigeria.
omo u just said 5percent of the money required to buy a house over there will build a comfortable house in Nigeria. And you are still saying over there is better than Nigeria. Stop contradicting yourself abeg

You should come here and experience it. I barber my hair myself and you won't know except I tell you.

You cannot live in another man's country and expect to spend naira. If you work hard, you will be able to afford the $1500 you're concerned about.

Yes Nigeria is better if the economy was good and there are jobs but right now, for the future of your children, abroad it is.
honestly wen will you admit that before you relocate, u did not think you would have to wrk very hard before you earn 1500 dolls

That's life. One can't have it all. Yes, the cold can be very brutal and you have to dress yourself and the kids in layers. But I will rather pick the cold. It's bearable.
Insecurity, economic instability, weak institutions, poor system of education, epileptic power supply and a very weak passport are very unbearable. It takes extra strength to live in Nigeria. An elderly friend once said "Alagbara lo n gbe ni Nigeria ".
