EmekaMD: I mentioned these as my reasons why I objected the plea for IMF to cancel our national debts.
Why should they cancel our debts when our president and his daughters fly on 10 different private jets while the leaders of the western world fly on commercial planes.
They want to spend 25b on a national assembly building that is as good as new. When our hospitals lack the basic facilities.
This is why I will never be convinced to pay taxes on my free volition. If they catch me they should collect it by force otherwise no show for them. I'm not interested in funding their expensive lifestyles. It hurts really badly seeing a substantial chunk of my salary going into taxes that end up being frittered away while my personal business gets almost a 10% shortfall in the name of WHT and VAT deducted right from source during clients' payments. The urge to evade tax has never been this intense in me. Can you offer tips on how to get around this criminal WHT and VAT taken from businesses? |

There you have it. A serious, prudent, focused and visionary leader truly committed to a people-centric government.
What do we have in Nigeria? One "Mr. Integrity" budgeting billions of naira for his globetrotting and feeding, his Minister of Disaster feeding phantom "school children" with almost N1billion daily and a whopping N37billion earmarked for his rubber-stamp legislature for doing his bidding, while hiding under the guise of some non-existing renovation works.

NEIGHBOUR: @BREYZ, Goodluck Jonathan is just too weak to continue as the President. By now, they would not have anything to steal!!! "Too weak" but we had $1 = N200, a bag of rice = N7,500, 1liter of Petrol = N87, our total debt at just N7.2 trillion (as against a staggering N33 trillion today). Nigeria had the biggest economy and the highest FDI in Africa, was the 3rd-fastest-growing economy in the world, and belonged to the MINT-class economies. He established and built 12 universities, revived our railway sector, introduced the TSA, BVN, we had free, fair, credible and bloodless elections, etc...I can go on and on! Yet you were fooled into voting in an unprepared, divisive and utterly incompetent APC, a congregation of strange bed fellows with no single plan for the country other than the quest to remove Jonathan and return power to the north. They have eroded every single legacy left behind by the Jonathan government. You had better woken up Ogbeni, and quit chanting "Jonathan was weak" upandan. This is 2020! |

Politics › Re: What Could Be Wike’s Ulterior Motives For The Lockdown by Leo3333: 8:02am On May 08, 2020 |
lrdval: Really want to use this platform to hear from others and probably someone might get it right. Rivers state has joined TOTAL LOCKDOWN yesterday, and this lockdown only affects some local Governments in the state. People has been wondering why the Governor will only lock down some parts of the state and leave the others open. Does that mean that those areas that where open are immune to the virus or not really part of the state that matters, or is there any ULTERIOR MOTIVES behind this total lockdown from Him. Please this is 21 century and social media has helped a lot in exposing so many deals and plots by the government through one or two persons who outthink them.
Let’s share our views. What do you think might be the governors ulterior motives towards this lockdown. Let’s think outside the box. For me. I think he doesn't want any oil company from his state to function properly. So that he can shake offs some cash from FG. Suggest yours. Let’s reason together. This thread is needless. Ondo, Kwara, Delta, Edo and a host of other States were locked down previously by their governors without any public backlash. Why so much noise about that of Rivers State? You want the governor to wait till people start dropping dead in droves before taking proactive steps so you can turn around and blame him for inaction? Wike hasn't asked the FG for any kobo. He only exposed the fact that Lagos received financial support while other States were left out. I recall he also rejected the food palliatives offered by the FG on the ground that they were insufficient for distribution and unsafe for consumption. There's is no ulterior motive other than a quest to keep his domain safe, especially given that we have an incompetent/indifferent government at the center. |
Politics › Re: What Could Be Wike’s Ulterior Motives For The Lockdown by Leo3333: 7:46am On May 08, 2020 |
Taich: The story of Rivers State is open if you have a neutral mind. The two LGA under lockdown are where u may consider to be called Portharcourt, over 95% of the companies in Rivers State and their workers live in this place, all the cases of Covid 19 were recorded there. So it makes sense to isolate this places properly not like what was observed in some parts of Lagos and Ogun were people were moving about during lockdown. Lockdown if done properly, we can beat this virus by simply quarantining and isolating those that are infected.
There is no motive here, all I see is a gateman (Wike) working hard to keep his home safe. God bless you. I don't understand the baseless theories flying around as if Rivers is the first State to be locked down. Should the man wait till things degenerate to the Kano level before taking this step? |

contigiency: Oga, they are not the same. PDP has no quintessential politicians like; Buhari, Tinubu, Ogbonnaya Onu, Oshomole, Osibanjo, El Rufai, Nwajiuba, Ngige, Pat Utomi, Prof Zulum etc.
What they have are the likes of FFK, Fayose, Theordo Orji, Okezie Ikpeazu, Mbadinuju, Ortom, Makinde, Akala, Igbinedo, Tony Anini, Asari Dokubo, Ibori etc.
Another difference is that, PDP ruled for 16 years and deprived the country basic infrastructure through corruption. But in about 5 years of APC, the government is building railways, Airports, Federal roads that cut across 36 States of the federation, Second Niger Bridge, Ogoni oil spill clean up, Agriculture is now taking a good shape, fertilizer plants are now fully working. And so many areas you can't compare or simply say they are the same. Buhari, Tinubu, El-Rufai quintessential? I've never read anything more ridiculous! You definitely must be either an APC stakeholder, a media agent or one benefiting one way or the other from this disaster of a government. Why don't you converge tax-paying, hardship-facing Nigerians and repeat your comment here before them and let's see if you'll return home with your teeth intact. May God forgive you lots. |

President Muhammadu Buhari has urged international financial institutions to assist member states in cushioning the negative impact of the pandemic in the spirit of solidarity.
To all the inbreeding underachieving morons, PMB moves on. President Buhari said the assistance includes extending concessional loans, technical support, lowering of tariff on medical equipment and consumables, sharing of expertise in case management, adopting open trade policies, as well as outright debt cancellation.
