quille11: If you already have someone to act as your sponsor then you do not need to deposit 8640€ in DB, all your sponsor needs to do is make an appointment with Ausländerbehörde. They will give him a date and time to come, and the docs to bring along. Shikena 2 Likes |

biggiyke: Q1. Download opera mini browser on your phone, you can access the portal there using it and book your appointment Q2. No you do not need to have a confirmed booking, just do a "book-on-hold" style of reservation (like you do with aero, arik, etc) then print it out the confirmation end from either your mailbox or from the site. |

frankie2K: Well its not a handwritten letter, your sponsor needs to make an appointment at the Ausländerbehörde in his city. They would give he/she a date to come in, as well as the required documents to bring along to verify that he/she is suitable to be your sponsor for your visa. It cost 25€ Once your sponsor has fulfilled all the necessary requirement, he would be issued a document, which is the sponsorship letter, duly stamped. that is the sponsorship letter. He needs to send the copy to your, as the embassy needs to see the original format. You can ask that he/she scans it before sending it via courier, as you would need it for requesting a date for your visa interview. All what your sponsor needs from you is your full name (as it appears on your passport) date of birth birth and your address here in Nigeria (for the courier). |

Travel / Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Leprof1(m): 9:29am On Jul 06, 2016 |
Tesland: Doesn't surprise me, i tried to get an earlier date for my interview, but they said July was full, so my best guess would be: 1. They have so many appointments, that it probably might create a backlog so they want to reduce that number first before taking on more requests 2. Summer vacation is drawing close, so its possible that some key memeber of staff might be away on holiday, therefore only some services will be available during that time |

iamzizou: Tesland: I requested for my interview before July 4th... Call the embassy in Lagos, use the extension 100 and someone would (hopefully) speak with you. Make sure you have enough airtime on your phone though. Cos they can keep you on hold for a lengthy period of time and your airtime would be wasting |

chrisley024: I had the same issue as well when I bought mine, so what I did was to take a picture of the "scratch" card, crop it on PC to blow it up and then printed it into 3 places, 1 as original copy, while the other two would serves as photocopy. 1 Like |

UncleJudax: A simple "Select No, because you don't have the right documents" would have simply sufficed, rather than all that unnecessary theatrics. And yes the question was as straightforward as it can possibly be. He stated clearly he did not have the right documents. Not that he wanted to forge documents. Read his question again Also please desist from the name calling where it concerns me, cos am the last person you would want to trade words with. |

chifathus: The checklist states WAEC, so i think you should follow that instruction, or you can contact the embassy to clarify that. Have you been offered admission? if yes, did you apply using your NECO result or your WAEC result? I suggest you check their website to find our locations where to buy their scratch cards. But I dont think NECO can be checked online, I could be wrong though |

louisilva: UncleJudax: I feel answering in such a manner is unwarranted, he asked a legitimate question, it probably may have been clear-cut for both of you, it might not be the same for others. Can either one of you beat your chest proudly and say that you were not lost or confused at least ONCE, for something that was glaringly simple or easy out of fear or nervousness. For fear of having his application rejected, he asked the said question and you are calling him insincere? How did you come to that conclusion exactly? We should all learn to be empathetic here on this forum sometimes. 2 Likes |

chrisley024: Yea I have the checklist, but i read on a previous thread that either in part 1 or part 2, that you have to organize it into 3 separate files/folders, and that your admission letter(s) comes on top of each bunch. I thought i had made a screenshot of the order in which it should be arranged, but apparently it seems i did not save it. Hence my question. Haven't requested a date yet, my offer letter only arrived today from uni. via email, so trying to calm down from over excitement before I go ahead with the next step. Also there was a mistake with my name, so I need to have that sorted as well before proceeding to request an appointment date 1 Like |

Dear all Is the a particular order in which you have to arrange your documents (and their photocopies) when appearing for visa interview? I know German embassy is very insistent on order, arrangement and tidiness. Thank you |

My Journey So Far (More Paper Work: May-June 2016) First of all, I will like to extend my sincere apologies to everyone for not receiving updates from me. Since my last update, its been a busy period for me. I added another year in May, and I was travelling a lot too, and wasn't stable to be able to post my updates. Big shout out to Vampire2020 for reaching out to me and reminding me of my commitment to this thread. My documents arrived in Germany on time after I had them certified. Actually It arrived 4 days later (instead of 3 days) because it was a holiday on the 3rd day in Germany, and DHL does not deliver on weekends and holidays. Anyway once the language school had signed for the delivery, my student advisor called me to acknowledge receipt of the documents and that everything was in order. So he would begin to make the applications immediately. Also while the document was en-route, my sponsor had paid the required amount for my language course and the university placement. So there were no delays whatsoever. My student advisor and I have this interesting relationship, because I am a very hands on person when it comes to my application, which he appreciates alot. Sometimes he would email me at 11pm, waaay past office hours, and we would email back and forth, either answering my questions or just bouncing ideas off each other on how to make the process go smoother. He has done this things countless number of time for students around the world and has had lots of experience with these things such as visa applications etc. But he said that I am quite different from most students has handled. Its helps to do your research people. I have already received a scanned copy of my offer letter for my language course. Now the next step is for the university and studienkolleg to send my conditional offers. During one of our conversations with my student advisor one sunday evening, a friend of mine buzzed me via whatsapp. It so happens that this friend of mine is an academic Dr and also a professor at a university in Germany just to check in on me as it had been a while since we talked. So to help add further credibility to my application, the professor has written and sent in a personal reference letter to be attached to my application.... *Air First Pump*.... My student advisor says this will go a long way with my application.. A little bit of Vitamin B (or what Germans call Beziehungen) goes a long way. My sponsor had gone to the Ausländerbehörde (Immigration office) at the end of May to get my sponsorship letter sorted. I should state here that anyone who is being sponsored by a German citizen or resident has to book for an appointment weeks in advance to get a date at the Ausländerbehörde. Everything is sorted there and he had it sent via DHL to me. While on a trip to Kaduna, I purchased my WAEC Access PIN, just to be safe, I took a photo of it and stored it in my email, in case i loose this pin, cos WAEC no longer makes it in a CARD format (like recharge cards should be). Now is just a small piece of paper, similar to what you would get when you go to a cybercafe. All in all I think I am 90% ready. I have already typed out my motivational letter and will transcribe it later by hand. I know some people has stated that it is not necessary to write this per se, but its better to be safe than sorry. My only concern now is, do I need to purchase health insurance before hand as well as the prepaid courier, or I can buy the health insurance after the embassy says i should come for collection and forget the prepaid courier. Because I am slightly worried of making the trip back and forth to Lagos. I would rather just buy the insurance and attach it to my documents and return to Abuja and wait for my documents and passport to be delivered to me, rather than to fly back to Lagos for a day to simply pick it up and present my insurance. Thoughts and suggestions please? Cheers |

rockyjim: I think the address of your student accommodation would suffice, since your sponsor is in Berlin, he needs to clearly state that he is the one paying for the accommodation. Berlin is in a different state (Brandenburg) and saxony is a different state. I doubt it would make sense to the VO that you would be shuttling every day btw Brandeburg and Saxony. So that bit need to be clarified This is just a rough guess, I am not 100% as am sure of what is acceptable. In my case school and home are in the same state, so my sponsor can state that he is my host. Hopefully other members of this forum can help give more concrete answers. 1 Like |

honourableseyi: Thanks honourableSeyi. That's some tangible piece of advice right there. And you're right. One has to be extremely cautious when it comes to this bachelor degree route. I am well aware of the risk involved and it's not just bachelor degree students only, i know a south African who was also deniend visa for master's degree at the embassy in Johannesburg. Each an everyone of us here is taking a risk. Please if you can remember anymore specifics from your friend's situation back then that might have caused him to be denied his visa, please do not hesitate to share. Thank you |
