There are very few roads in Nigeria that can match the quality of work and standard that those two roads present. I drive them every blessed day in Abuja and there are no issues.


Thank you my brother or your post. I live in Kubwa and commute daily to my office in Wuse on these road. It is necessary that posters and nairalanders realise the following;

1. there are few roads in Nigeria that can match the quality and standard of the Kubwa and Airport Road in Abuja.
2. A greater percentage of the accidents on these road are man made.
3. The vehicular and human traffic on these road are relatively high due to towns spawning the sides of the road. E.g. along the Kubwa
Express way we have, Kagini, Kubwa, Dutse, Galadima, Gwarimpa, Gishiri, Katampeetc. as such we have people crossing the roads a lot of times. Along the airport-lugbe road, we have such towns like Galadimawa, Pykasa, chika, Lugbe, Gosa, Sauka etc

4. Accidents happen on these roads for the following reasons;
- Over speeding. People driving at 140km/h on such roads.
- inexperience - a lot of folks in abuja would just buy a vehicle even without knowing how to drive. When you see them in the next
one week, they would have removed the learner sign and claim that they are now good at driving.
- Flagrant disregard for defensive driving rules such as, safe following distance, overtaking appropriately etc.
- Alcohol and substance abuse - the accident rate on these road are usually very high on weekends. It is rare to drive through
these two roads on a Saturday morning without seeing accident-ed or tumbled vehicles probably from drunk drivers coming from
parties the previous night.

If you live in Abuja you would know that the accidents on these roads have nothing to do with bad design but purely human error.

You ve said it all,purely human error...anyone that doesn't know these roads would liken the road to benin-ore road filled with portholes.

Afam4eva: Our leaders have to learn that there a difference between urbanization and development. The rural areas in Nigeria needs developments which is basically the provision of basic amenities and not the urbanization of those villages. God forbid that one day we won't have villages again. Even in America and Europe, there are villages.

Now to your question. Since we have embraced the white man's culture, i believe urbanization is in order but should be limited to certain places. Industrialization can be extended to some rural areas though cos it creates employment for the locals.

This is more like crying when the head hs already been cut off. This is a case study of most place in nigeria,is it now you realise that industrialisation or urbanisation has more disadvantges than the advntages?

Failures: Ilorin is not the only town in Kwara State, this is where the governor bleeped up, he didn't even lay any hand on other towns. The roads linking Ajase-Ipo to Ilorin is a total mess, the one between Ajase-Ipo and Erin-Ile is even worse. He should also learn to intervene when their is any communal clash. Offa and Erin-Ile, Ganma and Ganna. Just within the span of 2 months and he can not do anything to solve the problem. And the man is not active at all.
Recommendations: He should note that its not the vote of only the Ilorin people that made him the governor, so he should consider the other towns too or just fucking leave the governor seat.

Why are you this biased,is ajase ipo road to offa to wherever the only roads in kwaraa state? Whatever happens to kwara north and other parts of kwara state,are those places developed as well? As good as the point you tried to raise seem,your biased mind spoiled it all,meaning that if you were also the governor,you would develop those plces you mentioned nd abandon the rest so what makes you different from the present governor.
You also talked about communal clashes,making reference to erin-ile offa crises,need I tell you that erin/offa clash has been in existence even before (maybe) the birth of the present governor,so how do you expect him to handle that? It is your representatives you need to talk to and your traditional rulers,not a governor who has other things to take care of
