I can't imagine a stupid comment made by Akpabio when asking Prof.Adewole question on lecturer and students sorting.'He said senators no longer allowed their children especially female ones to school in our own universities because of lecturer sorting'. My question for Akpabio is that what has he done as a governor for eight yrs to curb the menace in the institutions in his state as a governor?

EducationMy Experience As A Student-teacher by Lescott7(op): 9:05pm On Oct 18, 2015
MY EXPERIENCE AS A STUDENT-TEACHER. As it always done by every student undergoing an educational course in the faculty of education and those in the college of education. Teaching practice exercise is a compulsory course that must be taken by every students running an education programme and which he/she must pass before he/she can be awarded a B.ed,B.sc.ed,B.A.ed,NCE at the end of his/her period of study. The writer is about to complete is period of teaching practice exercise in one secondary school in Ekiti state and wants to share his little experience in the "chalk and talk profession".My First day at my school of assignment was a very calm one which I had the mindset of just coming to the school and just get my A' in the course because I felt teaching is not a noble profession,my colleagues and I were accepted by the management of the school we are to undergo the six weeks programme, after that we were attached to different teachers as trainees. Fast forward to my first day facing the students as a teacher to teach,I was a bit nervous and shy but my corporate teacher told me being shy cannot make one a good tutor, hearing that I got myself composed and taught the topic I am supposed to teach which was introduction to commerce in a SS1 class. After discharging my duties I was relieved and happy my second class was only me without my corporate teacher which I had to maintain some level of discipline in my class so as to achieve the objectives of the lesson. I led them through the discussion in the topic of the day and the students participation was superb and we call it a day after the period duration. As time goes on I started discovering the beauty of the teaching profession which I had no interest in before because I am just studying business education due to the fact that I was not given my preferred course(economics).I can't hide the fact that I have known what teaching entails in real sense and why teachers must be respected and why teaching should be a respected profession like medicine, accounting, engineering, law e.t.c. I have noticed during my little period of teaching that the rot in Nigeria educational system was caused by nonprofessional teachers that had bombarded the sector and to solve these myriad problems, everyone in the system must have a well decent knowledge of all aspect of education such as the sociological, psychological and philosophical aspects of education. Our government must also be honest enough with the sector and stop appointing engineers, lawyers as ministers and commissioners of the education ministries at federal and states level respectively so as to achieve a high standard of education and academic performance among the students. Let me stop by saying teaching is a noble profession. Written by:ADEYEMI OLALEKAN,a 300l student of EKITI STATE UNIVERSITY.

I have a lecturer that do coerce us to buy a photocopy of less than 30pages for 1200 every semester and after that u can't get more than 'B' in his course. This man is a professor and has money, don't know why he loves extorting money from poor students.

Christianity EtcA Friend Writes Why He Doesn't Go To Church Again. by Lescott7(op): 2:12pm On Oct 04, 2015
Why I decided Not to Go Church Again, they are not Faith Org but Profit oriented Org, In Nigeria, the church and the government are the biggest collectors of money. " The government calls it tax and fees", and "The church calls it tithes and. donations." In fact, the church collects more money than the government. A majority of Nigerians don’t pay any income tax or any direct tax to the government, but most would give four to 10 times money to their faith organizations in a single month (several time a week). In the end, what the church and the government do with the people’s money explains the poor state of our country, our society, our schools and hospitals. May God Save us..........

EducationRe: Ekiti Students Protest Fee Hike, Fayose’s Policies by Lescott7(m): 5:52am On Oct 02, 2015
Eksu school fee is affordable, I am a student of Eksu and I can boldly say that fayose is better than fayemi as far as Eksu is concerned. I paid over 100k for my first year during fayemi's tenure but now our freshmen pay 80k and below base on ur faculty. There is fresh air in Eksu compared to fayemi's period of unreasonable policies I.e The popular No school fee no lecture when fayemi was there. Let me tell you that fayose is better than fayemi irrespective of party affiliation those students protesting wants appointment that is why,I know ekiti students they like politics of selfishness.

If you have masters degree and you don't know anything, trust me it will not perform miracles for you. i have masters in business education and it helped me secure a lecturing job among 300+ applicants. masters will give you an edge in the midst of BSc holders in any interview situation as much attention will be given to you, but the onus lie on u to convince every member of the interview panel that you are most suitable for the job. I thank you all.
. I am an undergraduate student of business education and one thing that bothers me about this field is that it's not so popular but I'm happy to meet a masters degree holder in my field on nairaland.

Everyman wants to make a place better than he met it,in the next few hours President Jonathan will be forever address as Former President Jonathan Posterity will never forget him maybe for the harm he had caused or for the good things he did.Nigeria now has a new government that will be handed by a new party who had promised to make a "change which Nigerians are patiently waiting for. It is now the time of those that will be holding elective posts or appointed posts for the next four year to know that power is transient and the electorates are not ready to give second chance to any leader who has failed to work for the betterment of those that voted him/her.
