It should be Jon Waters, Snow is a bastard name in the North, if Jon's father is a Targaryen from the Crown Lands, then it should be Waters. So why Varys and not Bran, he's referred to as the Spider behind his back, why should anyone believe him, without thinking he has some hidden plans ? Varys has his own candidate for the throne and that's about it, he doesn't need Jon, and he won't be revealing anything (if he knows about Jon). I still don't get why his parentage should be revealed to the world. Most people in the South wouldn't believe something against their agenda, let alone be ruled by it. The reveal will only be important to Jon and Jon alone, it will help him decide.
Can't he still be the hero without a name ?

You've voiced my exact thoughts.Varys won't care to reveal,even if he did he doesn't have enough reputation to force Jon on the Westerosi especially when he has his own candidate(s)/agenda.I feel Jon has no interest in any other thing but 'the Great War' if he is indifferent when his true parentage is revealed to him

Bran is the rightful Lord of Winterfell so of course his testimony should be respected.However,this is Westeros we are talking about-cripples,bastards and broken things are not respected no matter their family status except they make a name for themselves (e.g Jon,Tyrion,Ramsay,SweetRobin).

What I'm tryna say is that,before any Lord will listen to Bran he has to have more reputation than being an extension of a weirwood tree.

Am not sure what you mean by the Fyre stuff.But Jon is actually a Targ bastard not a Stark bastard which makes him Jon Fyre not Jon Snow (Btw,Jon Snow sounds better).

It'll be interesting though to see how Jon's true parentage will be publicly revealed both on the show and in the books.

What we are needing confirmation of from varys is the probability of rhaegar marrying lyanna secretly making Jon legally a targayrean with a stronger claim on the iron throne than daenerys at least according to westerosi laws and not just a bastard with the surname fire instead of snow. I agree with you,Varys seems like the only person in Westeros who can confirm Rhægar married Lyanna.Even at that I don't think when left to choice, the Westerosi will have a harder time picking a bastard than a true Targ especially one with three dragons (OMG,I'm starting to sound like Littlefinger). But sometimes I kinda feel sorry for Jon.Whether as a Fyre or a Snow,he's still a bastard .At least, he's not a bastard Frey.

Though Lord Varys is a major player,what he confirms or doesn't confirm is nobody's business.He is just a 'titular' Lord (i.e has no land or castle).Also he's not a Westerosi.Aegon VI will be better confirmed by Jon Connington who was once a Hand,Lord and friend to the mighty Prince Rhaegar Targaryen.

For any of these Targs to really have a foothold in Westeros, they need to have some of the major houses supporting them.Varys himself suggested the same in s06.Both in the books and show, House Martell will support anybody and everybody who is a Targaryen. I'm not too certain about House Tyrell in the books.As for the other southern Houses, Houses Tully and Baratheon have been all but decimated.That leaves House Arryn.But those guys have their heads 'high in honour' so I doubt they'll even care (except of course Baelish flexes his fingers).

The North has parted ways with the South and as already suggested,Jon is a regional character and won't concern himself with mundane things like politics.

The Iron Islanders to me seem far removed and insignificant.Yes,they can swing a naval battle in your favour,but that's that.

Gendry Waters on the throne though... .The only person Gendry has a better chance of seating on the Iron Throne is Hot Pie.

King robert was never scared of the dotharaki, he was irrational about anything targaryean and was all for killing anyone with that name, it would interest you to remember that ned stark scoffed and dismissed the dotharaki as a threat saying that if they successfully crossed the sea, they would be fought and driven back into the sea! That "Sun rises in the west" statement Mirri made to Dany was it really a prophecy or just a figurative way of telling Dany what she wanted was impossible.Some people theorize that it's actually a prophecy:

We know that Drogo is dead and cremated so he can never be as he was. I think that this is a possible foreshadowing that Dany dies during childbirth and is reunited with Drogo in the Night Lands.

"When the seas go dry" - I think this refers to the Dothraki sea.

Drogo was killed by an infection in his upper torso. Mirri tried to use blood magic to heal him, not to kill him, but Dany didn't follow her instructions; not to come into the tent. Yet it was Mirri who got burned.

Yeah,the manner of the Great Dayne's death is left to speculation. D & D felt he was stabbed at the back. I beg to differ. I feel he was killed using fishnet and frogspear.&

As for Mirri Maaz Duur,she had no intention of saving Khal Drogo.Remember that she told Dany that Drogo's khalsar killed her people and desecrated the temple of the Lamb god.She only appeared to help Drogo so that she could use blood magic to kill Rhaego and turn Drogo to a vegetable.

If the Dothraki had the backing of a few Westerosi,they stand a good chance of conquering Westeros.(Remember SmallJon's concern about a Jon Snow-led Wilding Host on the show) .Imagine Drogo's khalsar bent the knee to Dany.They might have been led by the likes of Ser Jorah and Ser Barristan (when he eventually joined Team Dragon Mama).Ser Barristan's name alone will flock many to Dany's cause...

For all the hype,Arthur Dayne was killed by a common frog-eating crannogman.

Drogo was killed by magic.I have no doubt that he'll need only a dagger to end the Sword of the Morning.

For all those bad-mouthing the Dothraki,remember the Drunk King was genuinely scared that Dany was gonna lead them to conquer Westeros but Ned Stark convinced him that Dothraki cannot cross 'poison water'.

Jon is prolly the greatest swordsman in the North currently and that's why he is well respected by both the Northmen and Free Folk.All great swordsmen built their reputation piece by piece and Jon is currently building his.

All this talk just reminded me of what Jaime told Loras in the books:

Apart from the Lannisters,most Tullys have auburn hair while most Starks have dark brown hair.But it is only House Baratheon that all members have black hair( I stand to be corrected though)

Targaryans are usually inbred hence the dominance of thier hair as silver however Jon snow is a mix of stark who have brown hair and targaryan.
