pazienza: Well, I believe this post is directed at mine.
First of all, South East are not neighbors to Ika, as we don't share land boundary with Ndi Ika. Ika neighbors are Bini, Esan and Enu-ani people.
Secondly, Ndiigbo are not Empire builders and have no history of invading, subjugating and annexing non Igbo groups.
I have Ika friends on social media and in life who consider themselves Igbos. You have no right to speak for them on this issue, as their opinion is as important as yours. Ika in itself is not a homogenous entity, many Ika towns have different opinions about their Igbo identity, and this even goes down to individuals within these groups.
Don't get it twisted or start having a misguided illusion of anyone in Igboland trying to annex your Ikaland, no one has time for such ish. We just are Naturally attracted to friendly Ika people who identify with Ndiigbo, and we believe strongly that they atleast deserve a chance to be heard, we would not throw away the child with the bath water.
Udo.
I think you might be wrong about Igbo people not subjugating, invading and annexing non Igbo. Well the history of Afikpor and other parts of Ebonyi State seems to disagree with you on this.
Faber: Bro get it right...u are correcty but lemme finnish work for u
Ukwa-Ngwa clan- 9 LGAs (largest Igbo clan) Nsukka clan- 5 LGAs(2nd largest Igbo clan) Mbaise clan- 3 LGAs(3rd largest Igbo clan)
They are large not cos they dem born pikin like rats ... Ngwa no dey born pikin like rats...Ngwa population is not much...they were just gifted with land mass..that is why their land no dey finish...as for population wise...Ngwa clan is an endangered Igbo clan cos of dominace by foreigners in the Aba region. Moreover 70% of their lands are in the hands of foreigners(Igbos from other states)
Ukwa Ngwa 9 LGA 1) Aba North LGA population is (50% non indigin of Igbo origin, 40% of Ukwa Ngwa who are not indigin of Aba north, 10% Nigerians of non Igbo origin.
2) Aba South is exactly the same with Aba north.
3) Isi Alangwa north and south is belong and own 100% Ngwa indigin.
4) Osisioma Ngwa LGA is 99% indigin, 5% non indigin of Igbo origin, 5% Ukwa Ngwa who are not indigin of Osisioma Ngwa LGA.
5) Ugwunagbor LGA is the same with Osisioma Ngwa LGA.
6) Obi Ngwa LGA is 99% indigin, 1& half % non indigin.
7) Ukwa east and west exactly the same with Obi Ngwa LGA.

Again this picture is similar to an ancient religious/palace in Tibet for the Tibetans only. I know the lamas (Old Tibetans leaders/ religious leaders) have Mongul/ Tibetans origin A K A half Mongul half Tibetans,it doesn't make the building Mongolia it's simply Tibet unless the picture is truly showing a building in mordern day Mongolia.
Dlw are you sure you're from Asia, if so you shouldn't have made that comment because the modern day country know as Mongolia was part of the Soviet Union(USSR) so there is no way that Mongolia get its Independent from China.
Biafra in Diaspora when are they going to come back home and join their brother's and sister's here in Nigeria and participate, in any of their so called Biafra parade which can happen any day.
maybachmusic: history cheated Akwa Ibom in this topic
this riot was more of Ikot Abasi riot and not aba
Actually it is two separate incident that lead to the riot popularly known as Aba women riot, (1) the first incident is that of Nwanyereuwa who comes from Umuode Nsulu in Isi Alangwa in which her husband is of Umuahia of old Bende Provence which is where it all started.
(2) second incident happened in northern area of Aba Provence now know as Isi Alangwa south, what happens was that when census was going in Owerri nta in Isi Alangwa the warrant chief and his men accidentally knock down a pregnant woman and there was no sympathy/remorse from the warrant chief and his men this makes the women to be angry since the first incident that happened in Umuahia is still fresh in their minds so they women went berserk and starts attacking colonialism in Old Aba Provence. All they did is for Old Aba Provence and it wasn't meant for all Igbo women simply because the very Igbo unity and consciousness did not exist at that time .
(3) Old Aba Provence today 2018 is divided in separate local government ( ). Isi Alangwa North and South L G A ( ) Obingwa L G A ( ) Ukwa East and West L G A ( ) Obibo also known as oyibo now in Rivers state L G A ( ) Osisiomangwa L G A ( ). Ugwunabwo L G A ( ) Also includes Ndoki communities in Ukanafun L G A in Akwa ibom state.
(4) Simply put all of them are part of Igbo people know as ( ) Ndoki , Ngwa , Asa.
So you see is not only Akwa ibom that was cheated in this history, Ngwa , Asa , Ndoki this Igbo people where also cheated simply because most people that have written / told stories about the Aba women's riot are not from any of this Igbo tribe that was cheated in this history of Aba women's riot.
11Ebiscoo: The struggle by factions of the Anambra State House of Assembly to take possession of the seat of the Speaker is currently causing a fight in the hallowed chambers.
Both factions of the House, led by their separate Speakers had arrived the State Assembly complex at about 10am in the morning, but could not sit for plenary because of the tussle over which of the two Speakers should preside over the meeting.
About 22 out of the 30 members of the House had three weeks ago impeached Speaker Rita Maduagwu, replacing her with Hon. Ikem Uzoezie. But Maduagwu had quickly denied being impeached, while the Uzoezie faction insisted she remained impeached.
This had led to the sealing of the House by police authorities to forestall any breach of peace.
But at about 10:30pm on Wednesday, police unsealed the complex ahead of Thursday sitting, but, both factions iwent nside to administer the House.
Maduagwu had first entered the hallowed chambers and sat on the Speaker’s seat, but later left when she found that only two of her supporters were present.
As about 2:30pm when she returned to preside over the House, Uzoezie had already taken the Speaker’s seat, refusing to give way for Maduagwu, causing a huge uproar in the House.
Two members, Hon Obinna Emenaka, and a pro Maduagwu lawmaker who recently suffered a vehicle accident, however, engaged a pro Uzoezie lawmaker, Romanus Obi, in a fight but members rallied round to stop the fight.
Emenaka who now uses crutches deployed them in the fight, but was quickly dispossessed of them by another Pro Uzoezie lawmaker, Onyebuchi Offor.
“You are not ashamed of yourself, you were schemed out of the party’s primary election in your area and you could not do anything,” Emenaka yelled at Obi.
Obi was, however, urged by members of his faction to keep calm and not to reply.
DAILY POST gathered that the bone of contention in the Assembly was the refusal of APGA to give tickets to most members of the House.
It was gathered that all the pro-Uzoezie members of the House are those denied ticket by APGA to either return to the House or move over to the House of Representatives.
As at the time of filling this report, all the lawmakers have refused to leave the chambers, with Uzoezie sitting tight on the Speaker’s seat, while the refusal of the clerk to make available the mace was still stalling Uzoezie’s attempt to preside over the House.

Bede2u: lol. We might not really be jewish...then again we might actually be...since no one has definitively explored our origin.
But one thing for sure is that isreal has taken a keen interest in the igbos. A strategic alliance with them can help achieve an independent igbo nation
Or make you an uncle Tom/ house Niger that will do anything Israel ask you to do either good or bad.

please stop this your broken language of IGBO mixed with IGALA and speak/write in Central Igbo.
ChinenyeN: I guess it is good to be hopeful. Sometimes, that is all we have in life. I'm just waiting for the day you people cross lines and, by your own hands, dismantle the "Igbo unity" you are trying so hard (and so desperately) to defend.
Yes, they will dismantle it or should I say that they have started already to dismantle the Igbo unity with the way they keep disregarding the different Igbo history and origin in winch they keep forcing their Eri/Nri centric school of thought on others .
UdechiHD: Welldone Pazienza! I've noticed b that most of the folks carrying this Omanbala identity on their head are from the Eri/Nri belt of Anambra. They've gone ahead to incorporate the Awka/Agulu and Idemilli groups into this charade. But the good thing is that the Nnewi/Ekwusigo/Ihiala on one hand and the Orumba/Aguata on another hand do not share such myopia, because they are more connected in dialect, geography and heritage with northern Imo. The Onitsha group too seems ready to reunite with the Anioma's and do not connect with Omanbala. But yet, these folks keep pushing this supremacy nonsense of an Omanbala and as well try to change Igbo origin to Nri, trying to push for an end to Igbo Izugbe, and also cunningly trying to make every path of Igboland inferior to Eri/Nri and it's Omanbala myths. But that agenda is already Dead On Arrival! Igbo unity will outlive all the divisive agents in our midst.
Well you also have to thank Nnamdi Kanu for such in which he deliberately allowed Eri/Nri centric school of thought to highjack their IPOP Biafran movement.
Just after the Aba Women’s War, the women of Oloko are riding the waves of rebellion and victory to take charge of their lives after fighting the British.
Sparked by a dispute that occurred November 18, 1929, between one woman, Nwanyereuwa and Emereuwa, a man who worked for the Warrant Chiefs on imposing a tax on the women of Oloko which were traditionally wrong. The Women’s War remains an important historic event that speaks about the underestimated strength of women who came together and showed courage, bravery, rebellion and even sacrifice while fighting an oppressive system.
In the aftermath of the War–which ignited the revolution in the defence of women’s rights in Nigeria–the August Meeting was inaugurated.
It’s 2018.
The fight for women empowerment is unending and the advocacy of women’s rights on the ground of the equity and equality is still crucial as demonstrated in the lack of inclusion of women in Nigerian politics.
Depicted in a play written by Paul Ugbede, produced by Chioma Onyenwe and directed by Kenneth Uphopho, the August Meeting takes a critical look at the steps taken by the women of Oloko after the war for total liberation.
The August Meeting will open in Lagos on November 18th, November 23rd & 24th in Abuja, November 27th in Nsukka, November 28th in Enugu, November 29th in Awka, December 1st in Owerri, closing in Aba on December 2nd.
The play highlights the story of the women of Oloko and their leader Nwanyereuwa as they demand control over their lives and battle age-old customs that relegate women to the background.
The August Meeting examines themes that are extremely topical such as gender equality, women participation in politics, monopolized power, women as second-class citizens, motherhood, family and domesticity. It highlights the problem with patriarchy and the need for women empowerment.
The production boasts of top-class actors such as Gloria Anozie-Young who plays Nwanyereuwa, Bella Rose Okojie, Ijeoma Aniebo, Inna Erizia, Odera Orji and Deola Gimbiya.
See highlights of what to expect from the stageplay below:
Nwanyereuwa comes from Umuode Nsulu in Isi Alangwa which was known in the past as the northern part of old Aba Provence, her husband origin is Umuahia where the riot started and spread to some part of old Bende Provence and old Aba Provence. The actual Aba women's riot started in old Aba Provence which was divided into three areas which are (1)northern Aba A K A(Isi Alangwa North& south), (2)southern Aba A K A( Obingwa, Osisiomangwa , Ukwa West & East , Ugwunabwo L G A.), Aba Central A K A (Aba North & South). Well it all started in northern Aba Provence of Old Aba Provence a place called Owerri nta in modern day Isi Alangwa south L G A where a warrant chief and his entourage knock down a pregnant woman in which the indigenous old Aba women where angry that that they are been Tax by the colonial masters, this incident with the warrant chief made them more angry and the indigenous women of old Aba Provence started rioting against the colonial government in the old Aba Provence.
Before Nnamdi Kanu ever was born, British authors and archaeologists have made this conclusion. Now that you are afraid of Israel's assistance to IPOB, you will even deny that Igbo are in Nigeria.
Igbos may not be practicing the Jewish religion en-mass, but they are definitely Hebrew. Many Igbos are going back to the Jewish faith. Even waaay before Nnamdi Kanu
Yes Igbo's are of Hebrew heritage, the last time I checked white/present day Jewish people are incapable of giving birth to a person of color popularly known as black people, rather it is the black people that can give birth to white person (Albino or Blonde) and there are some school of thought that believes in ancient Hebrews/Semitics of being a people of color like black people in Africa, Asia, America, Black citizens of modern Europe, Australia, it is quite possible that the whole Jewish/Israeli thing is the other way round, which is Igbo's originating from ancient Black Hebrews that modern day Jew's originated from. The so called Eze NRI in the olden days was traditionally the custodian/the priest of the temple of Ala the earth goddess and he was not the only Eze in Igbo land in the olden days because Eri people where not the only one that worship Ala the earth goddess every other Igbo group/tribe worship Ala the earth goddess in which they have their own temple that they dedicated to Ala the earth goddess and the priest are known as Eze Ala(the high priest of the earth goddess). e g Whites/Albino/Blonde whom both parents are black
ChinenyeN: Don't mind them. They can't even come up with any oral tradition that even remotely hints at it, not to even talk of science. They're grasping foolishly at straws.
AtaniWarrior: lol they are solid people. I honestly wonder how many of these people online claiming Nri supremacy actually studied the history or have ancestral ties to the UmuEri/UmuNri lineage.
This Eri centric fanatics, 80% of them are from that part of Southeast (Anambra) that has been subdue by the descendant's of members of Eri cooperative society founded on 1945 in which the mission of their descendants is to establish an Eri hegemony over other Igbo's, they will continue to emasculate various different traditional history of Igbo people, disregarding it and presenting it as ilogical. Even if is about Igbo's originated from their present location there's also an Eri centric version of it, Igbo's originated from ancient Egypt/middle East/Moors of North African and West Africa well, there is also an Eri centric version of it, the Biafra Igbo's/Biafra history there is also a very strong Eri centric presence in it. I'm from Akumimo Obingwa Abia State and I don't have any problems with Igbo's originating from any where, I just fill something that is wrong with some Igbo history which I choose not to go with the approach been used by the Eri centric school of thought. I pray that Igbo's will wake up to see this for what it is and fight it according to our saying that says Egbe bere Ugo bere kesi ibe ya eberela nku kwasi ya.
Nteje the maternal homeland of Nnebisi is of Nri ancestry.
Ogwashiukwu is of Nri ancestry. There are many other Nri settlements in Anioma like Ute Okpu, Igbodo (part of them), Owa ( parts of them), Obomkpa, etc.
There is Isu component in Ibusa. Isu are the inhabitants of Northern Imo/Abia and Southern Anambra area Of Igboland.
In short, there are many Nri linked settlements in Anioma.
Please explain how Isu people are related to Eri/ Nri people because what I've been hearing even from Isu people that their origin is that of an autochthonous.
ariesbull: The authorities in Nri are working concertedly to re-establish effective relationship with our brothers and sisters in Diaspora in some 113 and ever growing list of identified communities in Nigeria including:
I thought that Igbo people originated from Nri according to student/follower's of Nri - centric school of thought, now they've changed the whole storyline. That your next being Aro, please also add that of Ngwa, Ndoki, Asa, Ngor Okpuala, Umuahia, Ohafia, Benden, Abiriba, Item, Also Owerri, Afikpor, Izzi, Ezza, seriously I'm interested in hearing more of the propaganda/ fan fiction of Nri centric school of thought as they say, HALF A TRUTH IS NOTHING BUT A BIG BIG LYING ALSO HALF A TRUTH BEING SAID ALWAYS BECOMES THE WHOLE TRUTH.
irepnaija4eva: My own is where were the so called deities when their land were invaded by the white man? .
A whole oba the chief custodian of the land was banished by a foreigner neither the god of thunder or fire not even the village people (witches and wizard) could save him and themselves. They even went to the shrines and stole most of the sacred artifacts yet nothing happened. No records of any white men going mad or been struck by lightening.....But if na osas or Kufre manage somehow borrow(thief) yams or goat due to hunger, them gods go dey flex muscles abi them dey fear white man face ni?
Infact thunder fire them der ....
Nonsence.
There are some mystical things around the white men and their society they even have a mystical fraternity that is popular and is known as Freemasons, this fraternity is very old and yes the oyibos get their own juju just forget about the Christianity thing they brought.
happney65: US President Donald Trump decided Tuesday to end the protected status of thousands of Liberian migrants to the United States and gave them a year to leave the country.
It’s the latest of similar moves, after more than 250,000 Salvadorans, Haitians and Nicaraguans lost their protected status under an administration which has made cracking down on immigration a priority.
In 1991, when the West African country was in the grip of civil war, some Liberians living in the US were given “temporary protected status” to allow them to remain in safety.
Then in 1999 approximately 10,000 of them were made eligible for “deferred enforced departure,” or DED, by then-president Bill Clinton, allowing them to continue to build new lives.
Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama have periodically renewed the DED status, but Trump has now decided to allow it to expire, deeming Liberia safe for returnees.
Trump has taken a tough stance on immigration in general and, in reported private conversations, an even tougher stance on Africans from what he has reportedly deemed “shithole countries.”
The latest grace period expires on March 31, but Trump said in a letter to the Department of Homeland Security that he would accord the Liberians a 12-month “wind-down” period to prepare their departure.
“Through consultation with appropriate executive departments and agencies and my advisors, I have been informed that conditions in Liberia have improved,” Trump wrote.
“Liberia is no longer experiencing armed conflict and has made significant progress in restoring stability and democratic governance,” he argued.
Trump admitted that the 2014 outbreak of the Ebola virus in West Africa had brought “tragic loss of life and economic damage” to Liberia, one of the world’s poorest countries after years of civil war.
But he declared himself satisfied with Liberia’s progress in tackling the disease.
It is not clear how many of the original 10,000 DED recipients may have died, moved on voluntarily or been granted another form of legal US residency — but the rest face an uncertain future.
Opponents of Trump’s move warned it would uproot many who had made new and productive lives for themselves in the United States.
Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar, a Democrat, noted on Twitter that, thanks to the previous presidents’ DED extensions, the Liberians had been living in the United States legally since 1992.
“Many work in Minnesota hospitals and nursing homes,” she wrote. “I won’t give up this fight. We have a year.”
Every one should try and remember the old Yugoslavia civil war and other East European countries crisis during the cold war era many citizens from this places where given the same protection given to the people of Liberia my question now is if this is true when will the president Trump send them back home for them to be able to contribute to the development of their respective country or maybe he won't because the are white.
Yyeske: Google Ngozi town in Burundi and the name Ngozi in Igbo language and tell me if both would have any correlation. igbo in Yoruba means bush but in Igbo, it means people. Tell me the meaning of Yoruba in Yoruba language and give examples of people and places with Yoruba attached.
Well you are right but I want to add more to it, Igbo meaning people in Igbo language has a specific type of people it referring to which is Large number of people as in all, another way of saying or calling the name eg (1) Igbokwe _ _ Ohakwe (2) Ngwa people will go with Ngwakwe (3) Igbokwu____ Ohakwu_____ Ngwakwu (4) igboka______ Ohaka. The reason why (4) don't have any Ngwa version has to do with Ngwa version in 1 and 2 having the same meaning it's also making reference to Ngwa people's large population in all, both name's has the same meaning.
Chiwude: My brother it's still a mystery to many of us bystanders. The main language is Igbo as well as festival language like the Nwaottam which is surprisingly sang in Igbo. They exist some lesser traditional festival or women dance group where songs in Ibani Egere is spoken. This I noticed in videos posted on YouTube. But even the woman who is championing the Ibani Egere songs also has many songs she sang in Igbo. Which makes one come to the conclusion that Igbo is the generally accepted language spoken by the majority, why Ibani is only understood by a few minority of a dying generation. And I also came to understand that the Opobo-Bonny dialect of the Igbo language is unique to the Ibani people. Of which they've overtime refined and truly made their own and that any idea of dropping the language for an near extinct Ibani is fiercely rejected for a language that has become uniquely theirs. Some Ibani words have also unconsciously found its way into Igbo lexicon spoken by this people. Even when clearly speaking Igbo, you ask an Bonny-Opobo man what language he speaks, he calls your bluff and say Ibani, while on the contrary the language is Igbo. This is what I understand.
This means that what they're speaking is a mixture of Igbo and Ibani but how much percentage of the language is Igbo and how much is Ibani, I think it's more of Igbo.
The dressing would have make sense only if the boy was wearing OKPU AGU because in the olden days the dress know as Ishi agu never existed, instead what exist is a cap know as OKPU AGU but what we see there is the red cap that have nothing to do with AGU (leopard) also know as the all powerful King leopard.
That's not Ishi agu because that animal know as tiger is not indigenous to Igbo land, the original indigenous Agu of Igbo land is leopard, this means what you have their is Ishi tiger not agu which is Igbo traditional name for leopard.
DerideGull: Fake news. Benue was already under an emirate. Any place under the authority of emirate is a subjugation of Caliphate. The Caliphate was taught the lesson of their war at outskirts of Igbo-Eze and Nsukka LGAs.
Please DerideGull I will like to know more about this .
TheGreatJapan: Zombie you call it Obi Ngwa and still claim they speak Ibibio Obi Ngwa means the Heart/Centre of Ngwa and Ngwa people are proud Igbo people
Please don't mind him or her, Obi Ngwa he or her is talking about don't have any boundaries with Ibibio people rather it is the Annang people of AkwaIbom state that they share boundaries with.
babacletus: Bros Ibibio speaking communities plenty for Aba, there's one in Obingwa lga at the border end and a lot of others
I'm sure you're referring to Ibeme speaking people of Obi Ngwa LGA in Abia State, they are a mixture of two Igbo groups know as Ndoki 70 percent in population origin/ Ngwa 30 percent and they have their own unique Igbo language.
All this animals don't exist in West Africa what's indigenous to West Africa is leopard and YES LEOPARD is the original and indigenous AGU OKPU and is not Lion, tiger etc. I wonder why I no longer see the leopard type again but only the tiger and lion which reminds me of the movie called the chronicles of Narnia so I'm asking is this all about civilization/westernization and some one is out there talking about culture tradition this and that without noticing the mistake been made nowadays.
SouthEastFacts: I am from Abia and I know who my king is.
Eri had 5 sons and each of them are the Custodian of the 5 ofor of Ndi Igbo. They are all referred to as Divine Kings. Each of them is referred to as Eze Eri or the 5 Kings of Eri. Sorry for that mistake, its Eze Eri not Eze Nri.
Aguleri is the headquarters of the Eri Kingdoms, hence Eze Eri of Aguleri, the Eze Akaji Ovo Igbo is the paramount ruler. The Obu Gad is in his palace. There is no corruption of that word. You ain't wiser than The 5 Kings.
According to history, Onoja is founder of Igala kingdom, but not an Attah. He is believed to be a son of Eri by his second wife.
Igala and Igbos culture to me are not similar. They language sounds same but differs sharply in meaning.
which part of Abia state do you come from the last time I check, all Igbo groups/tribe in Abia state all have their King's and their King's don't pay homage to any Eze nri / Keri.
