I have 20k in my pension pot from my former job. Now, I have moved to a teacher's pension. How best can I utilise the money effectively or what can I invest it in? I don't want to just leave it dormant in that pot. It had stayed one year already @Lexusgs430.

It doesn't remain dormant..... Your old pension provider would continually invest balance(you would only lose out on the ability to top up)..... You can't invest your £20K into anything, because you have no direct access to it)......😜

OR

Move your pension to another pension provider(subject to provider's term's)..........

1.Social care should not be outsourced. The major winners are the private social care companies, property investors

2.Families should be involved in care and not leave it 100% to government

3.Disability should be dis-incentivized. Some people wear it as a badge of honor and it seems all these benefits encourage people to jump on the gravy train

4. Being disabled does not mean a person cant be productive, subject to the kind of disability they have and can be encouraged to contribute to the society rather than be a liability.

You say this is an individual case, yes a few 10s or hundred people in a council but the impact that is having on council funds to effect its other functions. Besides I didnt say those not able to work shouldnt be supported, was responding to somone who said social care is helping the economy.

All social structure systems, would always be abused by people........

I am in agreement with most of your points, but real life situations make them unworkable......

I was shocked when I read that story on BBC website. £11K a month he is getting for round the clock care and he was able to save 50K for holidays with his two PAs. No wonder city councils are going broke. Shocked !!

This only came about, because of the recent change in legislation.......

Hi Guys. I am posting for a friend who doesn't want to be named but he seriously needs your advice and possible suggestions on this matter.

He is the only son and has a sister , his father is also still alive .the problem is his mother, she keep borrowing money in hundreds of thousands and expecting the son to repay those loans. She wouldn't even inform him before taking loans, he only gets to know about it when the loan sharks come knocking. He has been paying back loans that have run into millions for the mother for the past 6 years. The painful part is when you ask her what she is using those monies for, she will always say she doesn't know or does not remember.
Each time after promising not to take loans anymore ,before you know it she will take another one. The son usually pay her monthly upkeep money so she is not lacking anything.

Right now she is in serious brand new debt and she's running to the son for rescue and he is fed up. He can't abandon the mother and also can't keep paying back loans he doesn't know anything about.

Unfortunately, he would have to leave her in her mess......

His constantly bailing actions, is simply encouraging her ....... He should STOP 🛑 🛑 🛑......

The law may have changed on this. My local shop in Kent has skin-on goatmeat . It's got fufu too.

both have their pros and cons.... with old build, you will spend way more to renovate etc.. with new build, the developer can go into administration like this example..

Just go with your heart and what your money can manage.. and do your due diligence
