mzilakazi: skip the theatrics, I refuse to take the bait. Just show me a clear written word that says mtn controls WACS , that's all I ask. Lace me with your cheap, evasive insults, I am not fizzled; they didn't answer my questions. |
mzilakazi:implicit admission of defeat, you lost. You love quoting me behind my back. Don't drop a source you can't defend. You should know I'll always read it up. SPINELESS LIAR!!! |
Dragonking:Dragonking, what's up? I understand your sympathy for mtn and disdain for the present administration, truelly all the network companies flaunted the law, albeit minimally, except mtn. I have a ported mtn line which now uses Airtel's services and I remember being rudely disconnected twice for re-registration. Mtn didn't take that pain. So correctly, all the network were affected. Glo, Airtel and Etisalat had few numbers in erring subscribers. NCC fined the telecoms about #200,000 per defaulting subscriber, but mtn's 5.2 million unregistered subscribers reflected its staggering amount of fine. |
mzilakazi:Bwhahaahha, you really are funny. You have since been churning out single line sentence of insults and refuse debating, but no sooner did I compose my closing remark than you made another outrageous claim with a misleading link which actually helps my submissions. You know I will always go through all your links. But I'm glad you have implicitly admitted that the fibre optic cable is not the determining factor for data and calls in GSM networks. Telecoms can do without them. Thus you have changed your tactics to controlling and operation. Let me brake your heart again: Mtn doesn't control WACS. As a matter of fact, no where in the link does it expressly state who controls it since it is a multi-company and multinational effort and contribution. All your lies are spawned by shame and embarrassment. Please read your sources first before posting them. Below are the companies and nations that constructed and owned the WACS: VodacomTogo TelecomTelkom (South Africa)Telecom NamibiaTata Communications/NeotelPortugal Telecom/Cabo Verde TelecomOffice Congolais des Postes et TelecommunicationsMTN GroupCongo telecomCable & Wireless WorldwideBroadband InfracoAngola Cables Alcatel of France did the construction and laying of cables. Terminus station is in London not even south Africa. Landing ports in pics below. Now give me an exact excerpt from your source which says mtn controls WACS. If you continue like this, you will forever remain a petty, uninformed nuisance the rest of your life.

mzilakazi: @bolded is an engineering English from Soweto. You have left the substance of this debate to chase after vain accusations and trivia banter. You got your special fibre optic cable all wrong. 1) they can be done without 2) They aren't the exclusive property of mtn 3) South Africa doesn't have an overriding control of the submarine cables. 4) you never read your links before using them to substantiate your bogus claims. You sound impulsive, hyper-excited with the needy penchant to teach what you haven't finished understanding. You need to don the cloak of humility and teachability to learn and grow more now that you're still a student and haven't worked for your living. I'll have to leave you now to drown in your defeat, it is 31st and I'm ending 2015 on a high. Hope to see mtn surface from the mud she's been mired in, after all, NIGERIA loves to cuddle all of Africa. Be seeing you around, Happy new year. |
mzilakazi:Only from South africa do we have fools emboldened by ignorance and puffed up with a knowledge that they are yet to fully grasp. Let me mix your blood with saliva now : MTN launched the submarine cables by May 11th 2012 by your own link and source you submitted here. Have we not been browsing, mms-ing, and calling with mtn line in Nigeria before 2012? Matter of fact, I first browsed with my ported mtn line way back in 2003 without any submarine fibre optics cable. Fool. |
mzilakazi:Cheap blackmail, false accusations won't help your argument, you mythical engineer cum quack ![]() I stand by my claims in bold : YOU DON'T REQUIRE FIBRE OPTIC CABLE FOR CALLS, SMS,MMS OR DATA. IT CAN BE DONE WITHOUT. THE SUBMARINES FIBRE OPTIC CABLE IS MAINLY FOR INCREASED BANDWITH AND BROADBAND.IT IS AN ENHANCEMENT.Go call your professor for me. You aren't a worthy adversary as it is. And I have seen a 1000 partial eclipses, A lady's demise by he who she pleases I have seen the premonition of death; A vague flash of impression:faith's dearth But I've never seen anything as spectacularly stupidish as what you just typed up there. |
mzilakazi:Shush, Zulu. The moment NCC announced the fine, all Zulu hierarchy from south Africa scrambled onto the next available flight to Lagos, crowding the south African high commission to intervene on its behalf. Mtn stock wend down by 25% within days. This is your single largest market in the world. It took the renewal of your licence by NCC before your shares began appreciating again . we control the market, you dark newt. It is mtn that is about to be thrown into the stone age. |
mzilakazi:What the _fuck are you typing up there? Better calm down and regain your balance from the e-knocks I've landed you before trying to fight back. Are you trying to say that voice calls are dependent on fibre optics cable? For your own good let your answer be no. What more answers do you need about submarine cables? Are you hallucinating or suffering from word-blindness? |
mzilakazi:An engineering student? _fuck's that to do with the discourse here? Won't you leave before I incapacitate you further? I'm a law/political scientist by training but I _fucking read a bloody lot. Now take this: The argument here is that if mtn leaves they throw Nigeria into darkness. That's your assertion, your claim. And you base this on your hyped fibre optics cable. I am here to call you a lier, an ignoramus and a Soweto, mythical engineer ![]() First off what the _fuck is the function of the fibre optics underwater cable? Mainly increase in bandwidth and broadband. In other words, GSM networks will still make voice call, MMS, SMS and data (internet surfing) without them. Who funded this optics fibre cable? Your own source says it is ALL OF US. HOW DOES IT OPEREATE ? each country has it own station for maintainance and repairs and operation. So if mtn leaves, they can't take what's not theirs to begin with. Glo has fibre optics that went all the way to Europe and US. I believe engineering student were taught logic in first year in schools -they are in Nigeria- you better start using yours. |
mzilakazi:Mzilakazi, you have to work with my pace and be spontaneous. I dislike afterthoughts, remodification of submissions after i have quoted them. You modified this comment with a link and and image after I had quoted it. Now I just took the pain of reading the link and I shivered in the realisation that you don't read your own link before posting them. So take your position let me slay you with the bullet you brought with your own hand. Your link says the fibre optics cost $650 million dollars, and mtn contribution was $90million. Other regional players in west Africa contributed to the project. Although mtn is the largest donor but you will admit that $90 million dollars in $650 is a small fry. Second, the fibre optics cable isn't operating independently, it is co-working with other fibre optics and underwater wirring in the regions. What's more, the fibre optics all have terminus stations where they are run and maintained independently in all countries. So you shot yourself in the foot. Mtn ain't _shit and I'll kick them out if they don't comply. Your inappreciable fibre optics is co-funded, co-owned and operate independently from country to country. Isn't it time you bowed to me and enrolled as my pupil? NONSENSE! |
mzilakazi:Now take your routine front seat for your Nigerian free education. GSM is a flexible technology based on 1st generation or GPRS technology, 2nd generation, EDGE, 3rd Generation, 3G and at the moment 4G which is of course 4G network or LTE. All these phases have different infrastructure for long distant calls and 3G services and core GSM functionality. The core GSM technology is the old 1 and 2 generation technology and they are glued in each respective country like statues (physically) Your fibre optics are mainly for intercontinental calls and connectivity which Glo has successfully done years back across Europe and America under sea. Still your claims are laughable because all GSM network in Nigeria still uses the old Nigeria Nitel satellite. Glo is in Ghana and does not control the fibre optics from Nigeria. You're a Soweto draft. You think GSM operates like dstv? Mumu. Again, mtn Nigeria has considerable shares by Nigerians, do you know that ? Before the installation of fibre optics, GSM has been conducting SMS, MMS, voice and internet data. Go back to school or enrole for your free tuition here. My benevolence extends even to unappreciative Zulus. |
mzilakazi:The GSM technology does not allow for such operational flexibility. MTN Nigeria has its infrastructure in Nigeria. You're a fart-bellowing ignoramus, your emboldened mythical assertions is pure comedy to me. MTN NIGERIA HAS ADMINISTRATIVE AND OPERATIONAL LINKAGES WITH MTN SOUTH AFRICA, NOT INFRASTRUCTURE. you're a dounce with pap for brains. You think GSM technology is a pure satellite base technology? Zulu-gibbon like you. It is mast to base stations essentially with fiber optics cables for long distance calls. You Soweto clown. Why do you think a single city has so many mast scattered everywhere? When I boot mtn outta naija, they leave with their briefcases and files back to Soweto where the market is over saturated. Other GSM brands are dying to replace them in Africa's largest market and one of the world's biggest active GSM subscriber market. |
mzilakazi:NCC repeatedly called on all Network to comply with the directives. Deadlines were shifted, concessions were given , partial penalties were handed. Others complied but mtn. At the end, erring networks were fined along with mtn, but the numbers of unregistered sbscribers in airtel, Glo, Etisalat were insignificant so though the fine was uniform but mtn had so much unregisterd subscribers that reflected in the fine. After the DSS discovered that most terrorists used unregisterd lines for communication, they appealed to the NCC to intervene. Mtn decline access to the investigating team and shut down access to their data base. A security meeting was convened to be attended by all telecom bosses and top security brass, of all the telecom in Nigeria, only mtn attended that meeting with low-level staff without portfolios. And when it came to light that mtn has a whooping 5.2 million defaulters, the hammer had to fall hard. If I were the NCC boss, mtn's licence will be revoked forthwith. mzilakazi:If a foreign company is corrupt like you said, what is wrong in indicting them? Why aren't Airtel, Vodafone, Etisalat targeted? The Nigerian economy is going through a rough patch but it still outperforms the south African economy. If Buhari didn't spare corrupt Nigerians, why should he spare corrupt multinationals? Jonathan has done his bit and he did well, Buhari represents infrastructural changes both to the machinery of governance and administration. It's a different game altogether. You have little Intelectual prowess to dabble into those frivolous accusations you make. Buhari stands head above Zuma or any other Zulu president who can't make a single political statement without heating up the polity locally and within your own SADC. |
mzilakazi:How many foreign telecommunications firms are in south Africa? Do I add that South Africa is very hostile to African companies seeking to do business there? You prefer FDI from Europe and the West. Mtn's 5.2 million unregistered subscribers is a matter of criminal negligence and administrative malpractice. Your Chief CEO Sifiso Dabengwa, admitted complacency and resigned in South Africa. For long, the international community has derided Nigeria for her seemingly weak institutions, lack of implementation of laws and corruption and dubbed her the nation of "anything goes". We're turning that around and you still complain? Tell me about China. Just this week China slammed foreign shipping and cargo companies millions of dollars. Their crime? They were encouraging monopoly and artificially raising prices. Need I remind you that Chinese economy is based on cheap labour, taxes and export of these foreign companies? These companies are from Japan, Germany, Scandinavia and south America. They owned up, paid the fines and promised the Chines government the incidence won't occur in the future. Last year, British multinational, GlaxoSmithKline, BMW, Audi were caught breaking the Chinese laws, they were heftily fined millions in dollars. These companies tendered a heart warming apology to the people of China. After paying the fine. Nigeria's shouldn't be too different. We open up our market to you, you play by the rules and abide by the laws that were prerequisite to your licence issuance. And just for the records, mtn is in no position to peacock with Nigeria. We are the 10th largest mobile Internet users world-wide, we are Africa's number 1 GSM subscribers and Mtn biggest market. You don't intimidate us or blackmail us. You can't comply with the rules, then ship off to Soweto. Other GSM operators had complied and were fined roughly #200,000 per subscribers for the breach. Mtn's huge data of unregistered subscribers that totalled a jaw-dropping 5.2 million, plus your uncooperative attitude with NCC, DSS necessitated the fine. If this happened in South Africa, you would go xenophobic on the rest of Africa. Pay up or buzz off. |
mzilakazi:In the event mtn refuses to pay the fine and licence is revoked and Nigeria nationalised the firm, all infrastructure remains. Mtn staff from S.A takes the next available flight. This isn't some love-gone-sour game by teenagers where gifts are recalled. No. Your claim of mtn disconnecting Nigeria from the world is as foolish as your early submissions. I have two mobiles and a laptop and none uses mtn lines. |

sunnyb0b0:Most federal roads in the east have Igbo contractors or overlords |
martineverest:Ika is a local government in Delta north, not a tribe. Anioma is an acronym coined by Denis Osadebey and co. and never a tribe. Let us skip the political conveniencies and tell the kids the blunt truth that doesn't appeal all the time. |
Ebuka3344:That's a large inclusive inference on your part. But then, even if Delta north are Igbos, it still doesn't make them endorse the Biafran course. Biafra isn't a byword for Igbo or igbo-speaking. |
wordcat:Where did the president imply Delta is Biafra? |
SINNZ:Family is home and comfort, bro. Somehow, I've never fully enjoyed Xmas and New year meals outside home. Something about eating a once-a-year meal in a familiar environment with faces that you've seen forever, in same dish and cutlery just make the meal to have a special appeal. I debuted in 2013 after I felt I had had enough from the sidelines reading the harangues from our friends from Ghana and South Africa. I simply came for them. And then I discovered the rest of NL, needn't bookmark so many e-news sites anymore, made it a part of my leisure for pastime, lazy surfing for news, entertainment and play. What specie is your dog? |
SINNZ:How'd your trip go? Didn't know you've been on here that long ![]() |
Docmann:Who are we to judge? You feel worse already. My take? Get your patriarchal penchants off people's lives. Both your friend and this lady or any other lady in the future. You're not really looking out for your friend; you're baby-sitting him with a very long puppet string. Every action of yours here undermines the oath of your proffession (assuming you're a doctor). She's damned for having a wicked motive, but her non-compliance to testing for HIV and her willingness to declare her pregnancy status was all a giveaway that confirmed what she's been hiding. It was a wasted effort on your part. How long are you going to keep strapping your friend and changing his diapers? You played the emergency doctor, albeit in a dubious way, but you didn't end it with a post HIV-screening counseling. |
Creamish:I know, Dear. Thanks. |
Creamish:Now this is ending the year with a tantalising flattery that did its job of raising the hair in my head, enlarging the whites in my eyes with a pilomotor reflex. Thank you, Creamy. |
peeparty:Lolz. Does one really need a city "guide" in Enugu? The city is one large circle and latest joints trend long enough. |
SINNZ:Stuck on Warri until 3rd, then off to Enugu. Ok, bro, safe journey home and have a blissful and fulfilled New yearyear ahead. |
SINNZ:Oh,OK. No ruling out the possibility though. Where are you celebrating the new year? |
TrapKNNG:Darn so small and so loaded. You come to Enugu at all? |
TrapKNNG:Hmn, I see, the ratio of women to men in that town will be oddly in men's favour. Enugu seems like this too with Esut, UNEC, IMT, Caritas, Ossisatec and Godfrey Okoye University. But Caritas and Ossisatec don't allow their students out. Still Enugu is flowing with women. |
TrapKNNG:I never thought of it this way. I have always wondered what's in Owerri that draws these exceptional girls to this city. The average Igbo girl is a beauty, but in Owerri, it is the selection of the very best. What's your take on Manu -Chelsea ? |
