That's good. Your department administrator should contact on the decision of the department to the faculty hopeful by December or January and you should get your admission letter by ending of January or early February.

I take it as my trv is ready!

@Spencer, yeah right but you can book directly from the airlines online yourself. You'll just be directed to pay into their bank account and you'll be given a code to access your e-ticket.
Anyway, I am speaking to my sister out there to book for me if it is cheaper.

@Spencer man, have you called iom like someone suggested? I also think one can book online for flights by airline and this will save us like 35-50k agency charge. What do you think?

You're right.
My immediate elder brother is my sponsor. The documents I submitted are as follows:
- Letter from sponsor stating relationship, dependants, why he is sponsoring me and that he can be contacted for further info.
- Sponsor's 6 mth account statement, 3 mth payslip, properties papers(completed and uncompleted)
- My 6 mth account statement, my co-owned company's 6 mth account statement, letter for tax clearance certificate processing for company and certificate of incorporation.
- My wife's sworn affidavit for date of birth, my daughter's npc birth certificate.

For proof of fund condition that accompanied the medical letter, I presented my recruitment and review letters for my previous place of employment.

Hope I have done justice to your request?

What If we give u condition to resubmit ur Statement of account along with ur medical instructions?...

So itz always better to leave your money in dat account until we conclude your case...

pharmow: Congrats bro. am in the southern tip of ontario at a lovely city called St Catharines about 20 minutes drive to US border. Honestly speaking everywhere in Canada is cold especially during winter. Are U heading to saskatoon?

@lft and Joe980 I mean Katangwa after Iyana paja they have some nice winter jacket there. I got some before leaving for Canada. Not that U won't get when U get to Canada but they cost around $50 upwards.

For those coming in January, please kit yourself with solid winter jackets (for those in lagos U should be able to get one in Katangora market), if U are not used to cold. cold here no be play play . And from what have been told, this year winter may be colder than last year own. More good news coming Insha allah

cris83: people of this good forum, am greeting u all. i sent a mail to Memorial University, Newfoundland asking about enquiries and so far, they mailed back giving me loz of information on how to apply at their university for graduate studies. now one of the items highlited was that to apply, its best to send a mail to a prospective supervisor, telling him why i want to study at the department and wat are my aims after i successfully complete the program.
Now so far, the graduate school advised that this is the best option cos it wil enable the supervisor know if he is taking any new students in the fall of 2013, as compared to the normal procedure of applying directly without going through a supervisor. i have sent mails to two professors at the geology department at MUN, but for a month now, no one has replied me.
i am asking for advise here from u peeps, should i go ahead and apply through the normal way?. bear in mind that i have a B.sc in geology, second class lower division. your recommendations will be greatly appreciated. another school i have in mind to attend is the University of Saskatchewan. thank you all.

Dear Cris
You have to be patient. Another thing you can do is build a good relationship/rapport with the department administrator who will help you to follow up with the professors. It's not always uhuru with the professors as they are always busy especially with research to prove their worth for the grants they recieve coupled with several sabbaticals.
I pray to find God's favour with one of them. Prayer and patience is the key most times.

TRV_IJN: @lft congratulations on your TRV. Please let us know how you concluded/met the requirements especially on the accommodation thing. Did you represent your brother's bank statement when they asked for proof of availability of funds or did he move the funds to your account. May God grant you your desires and goals.

Thank you. I wrote a letter to explain why I could not pay for the accommodation.
For proof of availability of funds, I used my brother's statement of account, payslip and landed properties.
