1. With the recent onslaught by the Boko/ISWAP in Yobe and Borno, the non stop killings in Zamfara by marauders or rustlers, not forgetting the carnage by the herdsmen in Benue, Jos and across the Central, I do not think the security has improved greatly. 2. I do not also think the common man on the street will agree that the economy has improved greatly. Even the president himself told the governors a couple of weeks ago to brace up for tougher times soon. Only a distressed economy could give such a red flag. If he says he has improved from where he met it, that could be be argued but saying he has delivered on Economy is a no no. 3. On fighting corruption, it appears that this depends on the side of divide one belongs to.Thumps up for trying to retrieve stolen funds from the previous looters. But what sense does it make in allowing new set of people to steal with impunity? Babachir, Maina, Obanikoro and a couple of others will continue to be reference points for the naysayers. |
He cried about the impending arrest a few days days ago but was dismissed. I have no problems with anyone who cheers the Police on this simply because of their dislike for Dino. I just hope that if and when the table turns, no one will scream victimization. Unfortunately, as long as the people in Dino's constituency still want him, he will remain their senator regardless of what any one elsewhere feels about it. |
PMB is obviously enjoying the drama in Ogun State which is to his advantage. Last week, he received APM endorsement letter from the disgruntled Amosun. Today he is raising the hand of his adversary. The irony is that both APC and APM will work collectively to ensure that PMB wins the presidential election in the state, while the acrimony will make them lose the guber election. Shebi them no wan get sense. |

This Sanni self. When will he be bold enough to hit his target? As for Dangote and Otedola, businessmen know where their loyalty lie. They are usually members AGIP party. |
Say no more Mr. Fayose. The statement credited to the state governor is self indictment. How can a governor who draws millions of naira from a state as security vote openly canvass for emergency rule in that same state? |
Such shares are usually bought by proxies, Sanni should have known better. Even if PMB is involved, I'll be surprised if the tracks are not properly covered. Since the burden of prove is on the one who alleges, Nigerians should rather prevail on Atiku and PDP to release the damning evidences if they have any. These government agencies won't lift a finger in investigating the weighty allegations. |
What a governor! Here is someone who draws millions of naira monthly from the state purse as security vote. Can you imagine the thinking of an average Nigerian politician. If I can't have it, no one should have it. |
If I say K you say ya another man say ri omo na you sabi. But how's Atiku going to fight corruption biko? We are tired of that slogan already. |
Tolu can try harder. Next please. |
Deji, it's ur take and u're entitled to it. Killing Badeh in that manner is akin to assasinating an Ex-president. I hope the former ex service and intelligence chiefs are taking serious measures. Some arrest have been made, let's wait for their 'confession'. If you critize the previous administration for insecurity and have suddenly lost your voice now, do well to look in the mirror for the definition of hypocrisy. |
He's redeployed. When is he redeploying Zamfara Police Commissioner? And las las when is he removing himself? |
The current unitary government is a fraud and a clog in the wheel of progress of the different regions. Afenifere has been consistent on this restructuring and it appears there isn't no better time for it than now. Painfully, those at the forefront of rubbishing Afenifere in the SW and on this restructuring are the same set of politicians who rode on her back to power in 1999. It can only get messier if we continue with this feeding bottle federalism ( apologies to Ehedu of Political Platform) |
But the military thinks otherwise. What sort of confusion, disorganization and non-cordination is this? Obviously, one of the two agents isn't telling the truth. You can guess which |
In this era where endorsement is hawked like Gala, every political jobbers looking for who to scam. IPAC wan turn APM to ATM |
Truly there aren't permanent friends or foes in politics. In 2011 when the then Gov Gbenga Daniel propped up this same Isiaka to succeed him, it was Dr. Obasanjo that brought Gen. Olurin that will later pursue Isiaka to PPN from PDP. Eventually the two of them lost the election to Amosun of ACN. Now Obasanjo is supporting same Isiaka against Amosun's preferred candidate while Daniel will be supporting the eventual PDP candidate. Isiaka has reconciled with Obasanjo, his former adversary but I doubt if he is in good terms with his former benefactor, OGD. |
basilo101:1. Yoruba only rejected Obasanjo in 1999 in favour of another Yoruba man, Olu Falae for obvious reasons. Did you remember that same Yoruba voted massively for him in 2003? 2. Southern Unity is desirable and cannot be achieved through blackmail and unnecessary hauling of insults to an entire tribe because of the political inclination of a few. Yorubas demonstrated this much desired unity in 2011 by largely supporting Jonathan. 3. Most importantly, please note that not all Yorubas are Buharideens and in any case anyone who sees that his political nest will be much feathered by supporting Buhari is at liberty to do so. Again, politics is a game of interest. Don't get me wrong, Southern Unity is desirable in order to promote a common front in 2023 but this will be elusive if you do no desist from disparaging and demonizing the SW and may be the other way round too. Thank you. |
Yorubas are basking in the euphoria of the moment without thinking about the future. They are happy with buhari's religious and ethnic bigotry thinking it will hurt igbos alone. I shudder at yoruba naivety in trying to become president ridding on buhari's back with zero support from other southern zones. Even if Buhari wins 2019 PDP will still bury yoruba presidential ambition in 2023. The narrow minded ethnic politics of SW makes them unfit for national politics thats why OBJ their brother avoided them and went ahead to rule for 8years. The recent bragging about yoruba political mastery makes one wonder whether they are ignorant of history. Their recent little taste of national politics has intoxicated them and now their only hope to remain is by propagating imaginary enemity between igbos and other Nigerians Why do people find it so easy to castigate an entire tribe on this platform just because of the action of few? Without sentiment, the voting pattern of the SW for a while has always reflected national outlook. In 2011 when SW voted for Jonathan, I can't recall any outrage about them being traitors. In 2015 when majority of the voters in the region decided to look elsewhere, why should anyone termed that as naivety, is there any agreement that the SW should always go where the rest of the Southern Nigeria go? What's this unwarranted attack on the SW about? Isn't politics a game of interest? Come 2023, the North will shock the South by making sure one of these prominent parties present a candidate from the NC and watch as the political heavy weights from the North decamps to that party so as to retain power in the North. Shebi you won't all stop fanning the ember of discord in the South, the North will teach una political lessons. |
Same way it was alleged that Adamu Muazu wrecked PDP from within in favour of APC in 2015. He was said to have had a closed door meeting with the Vice President few days ago. The APC youths should not be afraid of their party's shadow, Oshiomole would do no such thing. He is just out to enthrone party supremacy which is good for democracy. |
At this moment, it is convenient to conclude that the Presidency is frimly behind Amosun's obvious anti party activities otherwise he should have been persona nongrata at the villa Politicians can even embrace the Devil himself should he promise them votes. How could an APC governor who also doubles as the party's senatorial candidate leads another party's chairman to the President for whatever reason? Plus this is the same that has vowed not to work for the APC's guber candidate in the state No wonder they all openly disparage the party's chairman. Oshiomole may be forced out soon. |
It's not enough to claim ownership of such money through tweets. One would have expected Union bank to have come forward to physically claim the money since last week. What manner of rough play is this? Or could it be that there are legal procedures to be followed. Well, the court will decide. Ehn Oga EFCC, how far about the Osbourne Tower money? |
Security of lives and properties of every citizen is the first responsibilty of a government. Is it therefore right to say both the Federal Government and Zamfara State government have failed the Zamfara people in this regard. Mr. President, condemning the attack is one, bringing the perpetrators to book is another. Just stop the attack by all means We read that the protesting Zamfara people were also shot at and killed by the soldiers today. Will you condemn that too sir? |
She should face the music and forfeit the houses to the government plus appropriate jail terms if found guilty . My worry is what happens if she joins APC tomorrow, Sylva and Obanikoro cases come to mind. |
He should be tried for perjury immediately by the appropriate government agency. But why do politicians like wasting precious time of the court on needless litigations and appeals? |
Issorait. I hope the interest of Nigeria is preserved in the deal. I'll like to know if a certain Kyari is involved in the negotiation cos I don't trust that Nigga. |
God or Devil? I sincerely doubt God will have anything to do with a Nigerian politician, much more a two term governor |
It is hypocrisy to sponsor the liberation of Kwara from Saraki's grip and lampoon Agbaje for attempting to set lagosians free from the 'biggest landlord' in Lagos. With the resources available to the Lagos State Government, that state should have been very far from where it is now ditto for Rivers, Bayelsa and other oil producing states. |
Are the protesters safe? What's the situation report because we read in the other thread that they were given the Shia treatment. |
Oh Lord! Not again! Zamfara people have really suffered. They are killed by armed bandits, herdsmen and now those paid to protect them. The worst is that the media has a blackout on the carnage going on their. #PrayForZamfara |
Possibly a fake banner from the camp of his opponents. Even though that is the real relationship between the godfather and the new godson, he wouldn't be too proud to put that up in a banner for all to see. |
