This same pattern repeated itself throughout places taken by Christians during the crusades. The same happened in Jerusalem when the crusaders took it.

Anyone who's coming to argue about the crusades should ask why a pope had to ask for forgiveness because of the horrible crimes committed during those conquests.

You're getting me wrong. Before most atheists became what they are, they would ve probably searched and tried different medium , researched on various ideologies to arrive at a conclusion, logical to them, that there isn't or aren't superior beings as origins or influencers of life.

Yes it is a theory. I say the same reasoning because understanding why stars burn, and the fact that the Universe is still expanding, leads one to theory of a single point. I also think it's open to change (or could just be plain wrong), but it's quite compelling.

Funny, the phrase "let there be light" matches the Big Bang, and somehow I wonder if scientists are the current way God explains things to people. It was hard to explain in the book of Genesis, but now that people have a more sophisticated understanding, the phenomena are being explained better. It would be amusing to find the Big Bang in a revised bible 3,000 years from now.

It's not really the same reasoning that explains stars. It simply talks about the expansion of the universe from a random explosion (my layman way of understanding it). Moreover, at heart, it's a theory. I can assure you that it will be phased out sooner or later.

There isn't enough proof to prove that a supreme being exists, neither is there enough to prove that one doesn't. Science might say that there is, but a walk down memory lane would show that science isn't stable; it changes and contradicts itself every now and then, so believing everything they say makes no sense. What's even more overwhelming is the thousands of religions that exist, so which one is it.

These thoughts are what led me to reject religion and forget about seeking the truth, because who cares if a supreme being or beings exists or don't. That's not something anyone should bother himself about. If you want to believe, believe. If you don't want to, don't. If you want to sit on the fence like me, you're welcome. It won't change shit. What's more important is that we should tolerate each other's beliefs as far as it doesn't support harming of other people
