This is either ignorance or mischief or a combination of both Reno Omokri and Fani Kayode . To start with there is no subject called "Islamic Arabic studies" Arabic, which is a language is different from Islamic studies.

The new curriculum merged Civic Education, IRS, CRK and Social Studies into "Religion and National Values". Each is separately taught and Christians don't offer IRS while Muslims don't CRS except they choose to. Also, French and Arabic were introduced as subjects, students are expected to choose one of these languages.

What are the advantages of Arabic studies to a Nigerian. Please I need to be educated. Nobody is answering me.

Arabic and Islam are two Siamese twin. Arabic is the language of Allah. That is why no nonmuslim touches the Arabic quoran and lives. There is no way you can teach Arabic without teaching Islam. The Nigerian army's responsibility is to protect the lives and properties of nigerians and defend the sovereignty of the country. They have done just that and sane people consider it as a perfect job.

The Op should know that the level of food production is low & that farmers are therefore not producing enough to go round.
The north has a high level of poverty such that the want for food is high; but the purchasing power of the "wanters" is low, in this case the farmer sells to those who can buy then exports the rest to other regions.
In simple analogy: ALHAJI grows rice in kebbi, but there is a low demand for his stock in the north due to the high level of poverty. ALHAJI supplies rice to those who can purchase in the north & transport the rest to Lagos where the demand for rice is so high that increasing the price would fetch him more profit.

And this translates to North feeding the south or the Alhaji shipping his surplus produce to the southern market for sale. How does he add value since same or better can be imported from Asia.
