I usually don't involved in tribal issues but one thing I notice about the Igbo tribe in particular is when they are pastors, priest or working in a particular ministry they are first to break out or carve out of the ministry be it Pentecostal ,Anglican or Catholic ......if you are a founder or general overseer of a ministry and you have 6 pastor assisting you it is the Igbo man pastor among them that will leave first and form his own ministry.......take mbaka and co for instance in the Catholic church having there own specialized ministry inside the Catholic church, if all Catholic church priest decide to have there own specialized ministry the real work they are supposed to do as priest will suffer because they will be busy running there specialized ministry

Yoruba socio-cultural group, Yoruba Koya Movement, has declared tomorrow as a national day of protest against the ongoing killings and kidnapping across Yoruba-speaking states, including Kogi and Kwara.

The “June 12 Otoge rally” is backed by a Yoruba intelligentsia group, Voice of Reason (VOR), and 26 other socio-cultural and self-determination groups.

It will hold in all state capitals of Ondo, Oyo, Ekiti, Lagos, Osun, Ogun, Kogi and Kwara states simultaneously.

In a statement yesterday, the group’s National Director of Publicity, Mr. Maxwell Adeleke, said the rally is aimed at presenting the “Yoruba Charter of Demands to the government of Federal Republic of Nigeria (FRN) and to also present a Public Petition to the United Nations (UN), European Union (EU), African Union (AU) and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) over the ongoing killings in Southern and Middle Belt Nations of Nigeria”.

The statement added that the rally is being organised to “reawaken the people of Yoruba-speaking states to be conscious of the agenda of some ethnic warlords and reactionaries outside their domain to capture their land and enslave them while masquerading as visitors and to enjoin all governors in Yoruba speaking states to integrate towards economic, social and political development of Yorubaland and to encourage them to make the security of lives and properties of their people utmost priority”.

“The rally is meant to encourage Yoruba legislators both at the state and national assemblies to endorse, support and move motions that will expressly indicate where the Yoruba stands,” the statement said.

The rally, billed to begin at 9am, will hold simultaneously at Gani Fawehinmi Park, Lagos; Ibadan Military Cenotaph, Opposite Government House, Agodi, Ibadan, Oyo State and Pansheke Roundabout, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Other locations are, Fajuyi Roundabout, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State; Nelson Mandela Freedom Park, Osogbo, Osun State; Alagbaka Roundabout, opposite First Bank, Akure, Ondo State; Kabba Township Stadium, Kabba, Kogi State and Ibrahim Taiwo Road, Ilorin, Kwara State.

Federal Allocation - Does The South-West Deserve this?

As released by the Federal Ministry of Finance, the total allocation to all the South-West states, namely, Lagos, Osun, Oyo, Ondo, Ekiti and Ogun for January this year and shared in February was N15.1
billion, while Akwa Ibom State alone with a population less than 3 million people got N13.9 billion! “For the same period. Bayelsa State, at arguably 2 million people, got N10 billion

The lady who was allegedly killed by a pastor in Kogi state for ritual purpose - has been identified as Mercy Moses. The Pastor of the Celestine Church, Ozuri, Adavi Local government area of Kogi State, Mr Segun was arrested for allegedly killing the sex worker from a popular Hotel called Hollywood in Adavi LGA. The pastor was arrested alongside his accomplices, Mr Mike And Stephen, who claimed to be his boys and church members.

The victim's head, breasts, legs, one hand were cut and buried in his church at the altar, while the remaining decapitated body was buried in a bush close to the church.

According to reports, the deceased is said to be a Tiv girl who left Benue State for greener pasture without the knowledge of her parent but no body knows her people over there in Kogi State.

On further interrogation, the accomplices confessed that the pastor had sent them to bring a girl for ritual purposes as he promised to pay them N700, 000.00.

The suspects thereafter led the investigators to Uhodo in Ogaminana area of Adavi where the remains of Mercy Moses were dug out from a shallow grave.

The police was able to track and arrest Pastor Otaru who since the arrest of his accomplices fled the neighborhood.

The exhumed remains of the victim were deposited at Okene General Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
