The analysts are obviously myopic. Nigeria is an importing country, therefore expecting a dollar to be 650 naira next year won't happen. Tens of billions of dollars from crude oil revenue is not enough to meet the demand of forex.
The main problem is looting by public office holders..

Judging by our population our imports is even too small.

Our demand power is very weak, so our imports is minimal..

If they don't loot, it can get to even 100 naira to a dollar.

Interesting. Like I said, it's not a platform that regularly advertises vacancies. But I've found out that a lot of small business owners are on many communities related to their businesses there. They may post a question about a problem that they are having there. Just being active, participating in the conversations and suggesting possible solutions gives you visibility to these owners. Most of the time when they have an opening, they just ask on the community and if you have been active, they are often open to offering the roles. I've turned down almost 4 roles from there (in my field) because the work hours clashed with my current role (I don't joke with my current role because of the level of flexibility they give)

Upwork too has been somehow good with me.
Kudos!

Times are definitely not nice to Nigerians. The streets are not smiling. People are not happy. You could see from their sad faces.

I am an undergraduate working as a security guard at night to help myself financially.

So due to fuel situation and the economic effects, I have been trekking to and fro the place, because no money and the transport is very expensive now. Today, I didn't feel very strong to trek back to the place due to malaria seriously holding me down. I approached my neighbor who is earning over 100k+ salary, minus side hustling to help me with transport fare to go to work. Guess what? He started by laughing cheapishly. When he paused, he narrated how he trekked back from work on Friday, trekked to and fro work today being Monday and not sure how he'll get back to office tomorrow morning being Tuesday. That the new transport fare has eaten deeper into his small earning that even before middle of the month, the salary had long gone. Last night, the children drank Garri to go to bed and this morning, the children left to school drinking only Pap and he put only N100 Akara for each in their lunch boxes. Sad story. He added that due to the economic impact of fuel subsidy removal, retrenchment letters for 3 of his colleagues in the office are ready to be served by the end of the month, and more to go.

Who will rescue us, we don't know? Sad truth is that the money that will be generated from this subsidy removal will not be put to use to the benefit of the commoners. It's just a plot to generate more money for the elites/thieves.

Could you believe that nobody could borrow me N500 in the whole compound? Incredible.

Well, even when I wasn't feeling strong to trek coupled with all I'm passing through financially, I just had to trek which I did.

I picked up this job because instead of sleeping freely at night and when the rent expires, the landlord would come after me + plus all the bills heaped on me, I could rather spend the nights here reading my books, sleep (even though not as recommended) and still earn some money no matter how small.

Finally, I would say do well to help people when you can. People are going through a lot. Not untill the start falling in the street.

*In mama P. voice* - "God will see us through".

God bless all hard working Nigerians no matter the tough times we face.
The guy stingy.

Christianity EtcRe: Is Ifa Polytheism? by LikeAking: 2:26am On Jun 26, 2023
Ifajournal:
One of the areas of confusion or contention for those that have embraced foreign religions is the thought that ancient Africans worship more than one God and so they can be said to be worshiping false gods.

It is really important to correct this notion.

First, the idea of a "false god" is not one to be given much consideration. On what basis will a mortal claim to know what a false god is or what a true god is? The worshipers of the gods are to be left to worship their gods in peace without the need to seek to guilt trip them into converting them. To each his own faith.

The second is the idea of polytheism. This idea was not well articulated in the books of the early missionaries who came to Africa. Unfortunately, their books happen to be the knowledge that majority of the people in the western world got exposed to. It also served as the literature used in schools to teach even African Children. This act has estranged many Africans from their true root.

The idea that African religion worship many gods is one which has to be put in context.
The first thing to note is that Africa is a very large continent that plays home to diverse tribes with each tribe having their own tongue and culture.
One of the largest original African tribes is the Yoruba people. Their religion is Ifá.
In Ifá, there is only one being who is regarded as GOD, he goes by the name Olódùmarè or Elédùmarè. He is surrounded by a host of Òrìṣàs (Divinities) which he created as Co-administrators of the cosmos and he made them leaders over mortals. He established it so that each mortal will look up to their guardian Òrìṣàs for what they need and the Òrìṣàs will dispense to them (the mortal) what they need according to the Authority that he (Olódùmarè) has given to the Òrìṣàs.

The Òrìṣàs were first sent down from heaven to create the earth and make physical habitation possible, after which the mortals came. The Òrìṣàs existed physically with the mortals and they went back to Ọ̀run (Heaven) when their work was done, leaving their mortal servants to continue the creative work on earth while they guide them from the invisible realm of the heavens.

This is the belief/practice of the Yoruba people that foreigners who are either impatient to develop a full understanding or are on an outright mission to disorganize the people's belief system refer to as Polytheism.

The followers of each Òrìṣà pray through their Òrìṣàs to Olódùmarè for favor, protection, provision and guidance. During their rituals, they sing the praise songs of their Òrìṣàs. The Oríkì (praise songs) could be likened to Psalms that are sung from the depth of the soul of one who knows his Òrìṣà deeply and is grateful for the goodness that his Òrìṣà has delivered to him or her.

The traditional worshipers never refer to their Òrìṣàs as Olódùmarè (God).
The concept of a small letter "g" God is a foreign invention.
Yorubas have only one God and a host of Òrìṣàs which he set over men as their protectors, guardians, rulers and teachers, while he himself rule over the Òrìṣàs.
In other words, he created the Òrìṣàs to serve him (in ordering the cosmos together with him) and he created the mortals to serve the Òrìṣàs.

While the mortals activities are restricted to their time on earth, the activities of the Òrìṣàs cut throughout the entire universe and all its solar systems.

This is the simple explanation of the Yoruba religion. It is not Polytheism. It doesn't recognize many Gods or gods as the foreigners claimed or perceived, it recognizes only ONE God (Olódùmarè) and the Òrìṣàs.
