Kano state Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has said that he believes Kaduna state, Governor Nasir El-Rufai does not understand the issue of insecurity very well.

University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN, senior lecturer at the Archeology Department has been arrested by the police for allegedly impregnating a student and going ahead to threaten her life.

A mobile police Inspector, by the name Umoh, on Wednesday shot himself dead after he returned from an official assignment in Owerri, Imo State.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the Inspector, until his death, was serving at the Area Command Headquarters in Owerri.

The tragedy, according to an eyewitness account, occurred when the officer went into a private room and shot himself in the stomach.

The source, who pleaded anonymity, said that the cop locked himself up in the room before the shooting.

The development had caused panic in the area.

The source said that although the mobile officer complained of being sick, nobody envisaged he was going to commit suicide.

Veteran Nigerian singer, Onyeka Onwenu has revealed that Music legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti approached her for marriage in the eighties.

Onyeka revealed this in her new autobiography, titled My Father’s Daughter.

She, however, said she rejected Fela’s proposal during her visit to his club because of his other wives.

According to her, she is a possessive lover and did not understand Fela’s love for women.

Second Republic Minority Leader of the House of Representatives and Elder statesman Dr. Junaid Mohammed has stated that over 99 percent of Buhari’s appointments are not based on merit.

A married woman identified as, Onyinye Onome, took to Facebook to accuse her husband-of-1-year of sexually molesting their son who is 9 months and 2 weeks old.



Onyinye Onome, in a series of Facebook posts and live videos, alleged that her life is in danger for exposing her husband, named Chukwutem Victor Inalu, as he allegedly has the backing of powerful men.



She claims she didn’t date her husband for long before marrying him.





They had their traditional marriage in Dec 2019 and she soon welcomed a son who is now 9 months and two weeks old.

She claimed she started suspecting her husband was into men and told his family but they didn’t do anything about it. However, she said in a lengthy Facebook live video that an answer she got from one of his family members made her suspicious that they were aware.



She claims she came out to the sitting room one day and saw her husband and son lying naked with her son touching her husband’s penis and when she warned him about it, he laughed it off.





She added that she later noticed her son was in severe pains and took him to the hospital where it was confirmed that he was sexually molested.



She added that her son was also pooing blood and had scars in his anus.



However, she has accused the doctor in the General Hospital she took her son to of trying to prevent her from getting justice.

She claims the doctor staged a fake human rights activist to handle the case.





She further alleged that she has an audio evidence of this.



She called on Nigerians to help her get justice for her son, who she says hardly sleeps, is always crying out of pain, and can barely sit.



She also claimed her life is in danger and her husband should be held responsible if anything happens to her.



She put out his number online for good measure.

MURIC, Muslim Rights Concern, an Islamic Organization, has asked the Nigerian Government to, without further delay, place a travel ban on outgoing US President Donald Trump.

The group also wants Trump sanctioned along with his key allies for their ignoble roles in the US 2020 presidential elections, particularly the storming of the Capitol.

A Boeing 737 passenger jet carrying 50 passengers has disappeared over the sea after plummeting 10,000 feet shortly after takeoff from Jakarta.

According to report, the Sriwijaya Air plane took off from the Indonesian capital on Saturday and was heading to Pontianak in West Kalimantan province when it lost contact with the control room, according to local media reports.

The plane – believed to be a Boeing B737-500 – is understood to have fallen 10,000 feet in less than 60 seconds just four minutes after it took off.




Flightradar24 tweeted: ‘We are following reports of a missing Boeing 737-500 in Indonesia. We hope to have more information soon.’



Indonesian airline Sriwijaya Air is still getting more information before issuing a statement.



Indonesia’s transport ministry said on Saturday: ‘A Sriwijaya (Air) plane from Jakarta to Pontianak (on Borneo island) with call sign SJY182 has lost contact,’ said ministry spokesman Adita Irawati.

A female US Air Force veteran from San Diego was among the four people that died yesterday during the invasion of the Capitol Hill.

Babbit was shot and killed by police while storming the Capitol with Donald Trump’s riotous brigades.



Ashli Babbit, 35, was shot in the chest by an officer after chaos was unleashed when thousands of the president’s supporters breached the security perimeter of the Capital. She died several hours later.

Babbit’s husband confirmed her identity to San Diego news outlet KUSI. He said Babbit was a 14-year veteran who served four tours with Air Force as a ‘high level security official’.

Her husband said Babbit was a fervent supporter of Trump and ‘a great patriot to all who knew her’, KUSI reported.

Two witnesses to the shooting spoke to CNN’s Anderson Cooper on Wednesday evening and suggested that Babbit may have been shot by a police officer when she tired to climb through a broken window into an area that officers were blocking off.

One of the witnesses, John Sullivan, recorded a video of the aftermath, showing police with guns drawn and Babbit lying in a pool of blood in a stairway inside the Capitol.



Sullivan is the founder of the left-wing activist group Insurgence USA. He said he was not at the Capitol as part of the protest but did not specify what exactly brought him there.



Describing the moments leading up to the shooting, Sullivan said protesters were trying to get into the main entrance of the chamber when they came upon two guards who refused to move.

The group then went down another hallway and used flag poles and other items to break windows to get into the chamber before a group of police emerged.



‘All we see is these guns coming out of the doorway, just guns, and all you can see is their hands. You could not see faces,’ he said.



‘Right when I saw that I was yelling to people: “Guys, there is guns, you don’t want to go through there. They’re going to shoot.”‘

Babbit ignored Sullivan’s plea and went ahead anyway, he said.

‘The second that she climbed through the window, she got shot right in the neck area and fell backwards,’ he said.

Atiku Abubakar, has received a jab of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

This was revealed by a media personality, Dele Momodu, who shared pictures showing the former Vice President receiving the jab in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.



“Former Vice President, The Wazirin Adamawa, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, receives Pfizer COVID-19 jab vaccination,” Momodu captioned the pictures on Twitter.

Atiku’s spokesman, Paul Ibe, also confirmed the news, saying, “The importance of the #COVID19 vaccine in mitigating the effect of the coronavirus cannot be overstated, particularly in Africa and Nigeria. Yesterday (Wednesday), as part of the mass vaccination programme, His Excellency Atiku Abubakar received the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.”

Atiku had in a New Year Day message expressed the belief that “the vaccine(s) would soon be available for vaccination in Nigeria.”

Nigerian military on Monday the 4th of Jan 2021, announced that it conducted additional air interdiction missions against Boko Haram at the weekend.

Major General John Enenche, Coordinator of Defence Media Operations, in a statement on Sunday, said the Air Task Force of Operation LAFIYA DOLE took out many hideouts.

He noted that a number of terrorists were eliminated at Kote Kura and Bulama Isamari, both in Borno State.

Fighter jets and helicopter gunships flew to the area on credible intelligence about recently established Boko Haram camps.



Enenche disclosed that the sect used the locations to stow weapons, equipment, and launch attacks.

“Overhead Kote Kura, a settlement in Bama area, NAF attack aircraft engaged scores of terrorists, leading to the neutralization of several of them as well as the destruction of structures and logistics stores”, he said.

At Bulama Isamari, within the Timbuktu Traingle, NAF aircraft took turns engaging the target.

The statement added that accurate hits resulted in the neutralisation of insurgents.

Bishop Chikwe Moses, the auxiliary Bishop of Owerri archdiocese in Imo State, has been kidnaped.

Reports had it that the prelate was whisked away on Monday while coming out from his Owerri residence.

A man accused of attempting to kidnap a child was was killed and burnt to death at Oke-Ado area of Ibadan on Monday morning, December 28.



There, however, were varied reports about the circumstances that led to the killing of the man who has now been identified as Saheed.



The action meted out to suspected criminals were however condemned by Oyo State Police Command.

While some eyewitnesses claimed that Saheed was a kidnapper, others claimed that he was mentally unstable.



Mr Bamidele Emmanuel, a resident of Odo-Ona, where Saheed hailed from, confirmed that the deceased was only mentally unstable and not a kidnapper.
Bamidele said that Saheed was well known in Odo Ona, where he did menial work like washing of cars and carrying luggage for people.

Nigerian music producer, rapper and singer, Lotanna Udezue, popularly known as Biglo, has died after a long battle with kidney ailment.



Biglo reportedly died on Saturday night, December 26.





Singer, Jazzman Olofin announced his death on Instagram.



Biglo shot into limelight in 2004 with the hit song ‘Delicious’ which featured 2shotz.
