Lebanon’s capital Beirut was hit with a massive explosion on Tuesday, August 4.



The afternoon blast shook several parts of the capital with Local Red Cross reporting hundreds injured and widespread damage.

Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture, on Tuesday, reviewed the penalty for hate speech in Nigeria.

Mohammed disclosed that the penalty for hate speech from N500,000 to N5 million.

Pastor Nduka Anyanwu, of the Lord’s Chosen Church has been accused of raping two underaged sisters for years and finally impregnating them under the guise of casting out badluck from them.

A policeman on Sunday July 26, got more than what he bargained, he allegedly shot at a car occupied by a man and his family, over refusal to pay a bribe.

The incident reportedly happened around Japaul house in Ikeja.



According to Ayodele Oyewole a Twitter user who shared the video, the wife fainted after the police officer shot at their car, shattering the rear windshield.

Videos shared online show people confronting the police officer after the incident. They put the unconscious woman into the car and asked the police officer to drive her to a hospital.

Batch 4/2019 deradicalized of former Boko Haram combatants had their graduation ceremony at the Operation Safe Corridor Mallam Sidi in Gombe state today Saturday, July 25.



All total of 601 Ex-Boko Haram members completed a de-radicalization, rehabilitation, and reintegration program organized by Operation Safe Corridor and denounced their membership of the insurgent group at the Malam Sidi Camp in Kwami Local Government Area of Gombe State on Monday, July 13.



The Coordinator of Operation Safe Corridor, Major General Bamidele Shafa said that out of the 601 graduands that arrived at the camp on 27 November and 14 December 2019, 592 are Nigerians from 10 states of the federation while 14 are foreign Nationals from Cameroon, Chad, and Niger. Shafa added that out of this number, three died of health complications while one was referred for further medical treatment at the Neuro-psychiatric Hospital in Maiduguri.

A video making rounds on social media captures the moment two armed robbers were caught on CCTV robbing staff and customers of a pharmacy on Old Ife Road in Ibadan, Oyo state on Wednesday, July 22.



According to investigative journalist, Fisayo Soyombo who shared the video online, the armed robbers strolled into the pharmacy at about 8.40pm and robbed a number of people carting away personal and company cash.

The Flying Officer died as a result of head injuries sustained from a road traffic accident at Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Base Kaduna.

Her death came barely a year after she was winged as a combat helicopter pilot in the Air Force following the completion of her course in South Africa.

Confirming the accident, NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, said until her death, ‪Flying Officer Arotile, who was commissioned into the NAF in September 2017 as a member of Nigerian Defence Academy Regular Course 64, was the first ever female combat helicopter pilot in the service.‬

He said: “During her short but impactful stay in the service, late Arotile, who hails from Iffe in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, contributed significantly to the efforts to rid the North Central States of armed bandits and other criminal elements by flying several combat missions under Operation GAMA AIKI in Minna, Niger State.

The building was discovered to have been erected in only under two months in readiness for Abdulaziz and his new bride, Khadija Danbatta, to move in to after the second leg of their lavish wedding on Saturday (today).

The sprawling edifice is located in the choice neighbourhood of Gesse Phase II in Birnin Kebbi, capital of Kebbi State.

Abdulaziz and his wife are expected to also make use of the property aside the one in Abuja.

A video of one leg of their lavish ceremony had shown guests flouting the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control guideline on Coronavirus after they failed to wear face masks and were seen closely interacting during the event.

A Cameroonian medical doctor has shocked many with his testimony backed with “scientific evidence” to being healed from the deadly coronavirus on TB Joshua’s popular Christian channel Emmanuel TV.



Dr Kameni Pierre, a gynecologist and obstetrician, revealed he was sick with COVID-19 and in isolation in a hospital ward when he called in via video to receive prayer during an interactive program on Emmanuel TV.

Dr Pierre, speaking in French, explained his symptoms included a cough, headaches, difficulty in breathing and pains throughout the body.

He showed his medical report confirming him positive to COVID-19, which has infected more than ten million people worldwide and resulted in more than 500,000 fatalities.

“Distance is not a barrier to what God can do,” one of the ministers in TB Joshua’s church can be heard counselling Pierre in the clip. “In fact, God is even more powerful in distance.”

Turning to pray for Dr Kameni, he “commanded healing” upon his system, upon which the Cameroonian doctor fell involuntarily to the floor and began to “vomit uncontrollably”.

“That deadly virus, that incurable virus – be healed, in the name of Jesus Christ,” the minister prayed as Dr Pierre continued to sweat profusely before being declared “free from the virus”.

Just days later, the Cameroonian health worker excitedly testified that all the symptoms associated with the virus disappeared after receiving prayer.

Upon going for a subsequent medical test, he was confirmed negative to the virus and released from quarantine.

“As a medical doctor, I know what it means to be a COVID-19 patient… I would like to advise the nations all over the world – do not panic in the face of this virus,” he counselled, whilst holding up his positive and negative medical reports.

“Move close to anointed men of God like Prophet TB Joshua – they will pray for you, God will be glorified and this COVID-19 will become a memory,” Dr Kameni concluded, before exercising himself vigorously to confirm the reality of his ‘healing’.

“Even though the churches are closed, the Lord is still doing wonders,” tweeted Nigeria’s Former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode in response to the trending video.

In his comments on his official social media handles, Joshua stressed that the healing was the work of Jesus Christ and called on people to “run to God”.

“Never a sickness Jesus cannot heal! Never a disease Jesus cannot cure! To God’s power, nothing is impossible… Let us run to God to put an end to this crisis and panic that has enveloped the world,” he commented.

Nigerian Defence Headquarters has said that the Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation Lafiya Dole has destroyed Boko Haram’s structures at Warshale in Borno State.

Speaking to newsmen on Monday the Coordinator, Defence Media Operations, Major General John Enenche, also informed that several Boko Haram fighters were killed in the airstrikes.

Enenche said that the operation was executed on 27th June as part of a subsidiary Operation LONG REACH after credible intelligence reports.



“The Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation LAFIYA DOLE has dealt another decisive blow on Boko Haram Terrorists (BHTs) in the North East of Nigeria with the destruction of several of their structures and neutralization of their fighters at Warshale in the Northern part of Borno State.


“This was achieved through airstrikes executed on 27th June 2020 as part of subsidiary Operation LONG REACH after credible intelligence reports as well as days of aerial surveillance missions established that the settlement was being used as a staging area to launch attacks against friendly forces’ locations and surrounding civilian settlements.



“Accordingly, the Air Task Force dispatched a force package of Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jets as well as an Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft to engage the location.

“The NAF jets scored devastating hits in their multiple waves of attacks resulting in the destruction of several structures in the settlement as well as the neutralization of some of the terrorists.
