yesterday i went to thrash some food waste, it was around past 1 am and I saw a young girl strolling home, alone. The bus stop is at least 100m away if she had came off the bus. Then I immediately wondered if this can happen in Nigeria. if circumstances leads to a Nigerian girl finding herself on the street at such 'ungodly' hour, then you know what chased her out is far worse than her fears (robbery, molestation, kidnapping for marathon sex or money ritual, etc). I observed that it is common for group of girls who are friends go out to God-knows-where (it could be bars and clubs or movie theatre, the stadium, or just taking a walk) just by themselves, no male company. That means they pay their bills and are not afraid of any form of harassment from any man. Then I also thought to myself one day, are there Nigerian girls who do this without latching unto a man who will pay the bills or serve as security? The kind of freedom girls enjoy out here makes one no longer afraid of having a female child. But in Nigeria, I honestly feel and get horrified most times about how vulnerable the girl child is. Some times when you see sex happen amongst Nigerian youths, it's not that the girl wanted it, it's because she has been cowered into it. She has come to a point that she knows that if she doesn't give in, she will be raped, so she simply tries to play along and get anything she can out of it, knowing fully well that she has walked into a trap already. And thereafter, she wouldn't dare voice it to anyone because every Nigerian believes that if you don't scream until you are heard, then you were not raped. I honestly feel for the Nigerian girl child/woman. My heart bleeds for them sometimes. The monsters they turn out to be as wives sometimes is as a result of what the society has pushed at them from birth. Some places, even if a girl accepts to go to the club with you or visit you, and by any chance, she gets drunk (whether you purposely caused her to be or not), and sex happens. She can claim you took advantage of her and tag it rape, so long as she felt bad when she realised you had sex with her. But if it's in Nigeria, the girl will rather be shamed if she ever tries that. This is the major reason when Nigerian women are taken abroad by their husbands, they turn to devils. They simply want to get a revenge against the Nigerian system, which her husband belongs to, they want to feel the power the Nigerian Society never let them have, with 'jara' on top. I stand with the Nigerian woman and I propose freedom and utmost security for the Nigerian girl-child. |
Mindlog:I disagree with that freedom thing especially for the girl child. |
Earthstorms: |
Earthstorms:@ bolder. It is true that limits them but the average 'responsible' Nigerian woman will never be at peace because the man will most likely drop off the kids with a relative and send money for upkeep plus regular visits until he remarries. Nobody will care for a child like his mother. |
greatopec:Hello, I was in your shoes. I was stuck. My situation was much better but if I hadn't taken the bull by the horn, I knew if things remained the way they were, I'll get to exactly where you are. For me, I was a banker, I had two cars, two landed properties to my name, no house, married with little kids. I thought at 40 I would have quit banking, had a business rolling in cash everyday, pursued my academic dreams, and live the life. The country is not a decent place for decent people. The efforts to live a decent life without compromises was frustrating. The system rewards evil, cultism, bribery, immorality, and I was not in on any of those. Two years ago, I quit and left the country. Warning: you must sacrifice something. Stop drinking beer, or indulging in anything that you know drains you financially (maybe infidelity). That data thing you said, make sure you have that, and then chuk your head into that programming you mentioned, use YouTube and every available free resources - I did same thing and enter python. Seek out scholarships abroad (not many places in Europe because of that hnd wey go carry). Or if you have a link to any EU country, find money fall into any of them, seek for asylum, and in about 3 to 4 years time, you will be a changed person, you and your descendants. You can also look at a viable business to start in Nigeria. I know you will say 'capital this, capital that', still, lol for a business and start. Whatever happens, keep your head high, it is never too late to step out, but the earlier you do, the better. On a lighter note, how you been Wan achieve those things wey you list up there, by working 8-5 with hnd in Nigeria? |
DeLaRue:It won't work or the establishment would kick against it? |
I don't understand how people will ask court to stop being investigated from crime they actually committed, and the court complies sometimes. Someone In this country has a 'perpetual injunction' against law enforcement agents, a thief o. I think our constitution and justice system need to be reviewed, this time by young minds. |
Ofcourse, Nigerians are looking up to God for this miracle. If God doesn't step in, then it means he still wants to punish us more. It is only God that is more powerful than the devil whom 99% of our politicians serve and worship. The judiciary, the law enforcement agents, the agberos, the government, etc, have all been sold. Yes, only God can perform this miracle. |
Devil! |
layzie:I tell you. I didn't want to even open the thread before. Now I opened it, I only ready first paragraph. Useless bitter man. He will henceforth start heading to obscurity where he will eventually die. |
Dead end. You could have simply washed away all your sins if you had given them a credible election as you promised. The problem now is that you are still telling them that the election was credible, making all your sins unforgivable because now you seem to see them as sub-humans |
Ihateheadslamer:I strongly disagree with you on the bolded. |
Zonefree:Come on, he may repent now. After all this is fasting period. Allah may touch him, never give up on anyone. How do you mean by 'hypnotized'? Afterall, he lost lagos in the general elections. |
Zonefree:Anybody who has good intentions can fix Nigeria, all you have to do is stop looting of the common treasury. Buhari has failed woefully in that. |
One thing I suggest BAT should do as a president is to sponsor a bill that mandates all levels of government and its parqstatals and agencies to make their receipts and expenses public, to the last detail, on a monthly basis. This will automatically put him in the good books of history and also put govt officials in check. This should be a law. And every govt organization should do this before the 15th of the following month, failure which attracts removal of immunity from those who have it, and face stiff penalties, starting from suspension followed by prosecution. |
Rokiat:If only men will know that cheating is not worth it, so long you have the thing and can never be denied you (my wife and I actually agreed that even if we dey quarrel, if anyone wants it, just take it, no reason enough to deny each other the thing wey belong to both of us). The trouble that comes with cheating is more than 1000 times the pleasure. Talking of pleasure, what if you cheat with someone with odor there, or who for many other reasons denies you the short time pleasure with bad experience, your life don kukuma finish be that. |
mercy87:Amen And continue to keep me, not easy I must say. |
Rokiat:Before I left Nigeria, I went to the altar in church, in the full glare of church members, and vowed to God I'll never cheat on my wife while away (not that I ever cheated since we got married). I've been without her for almost 2 year now, I never kiss another woman. When the temptation come, some silly girls acting up around, I simply remind myself "if you try it, you're gone. He is watching you". Omo, I go just mellow dey pursue wetin dey pursue me. And it's like my wife self trusts more than I trust myself because one day like that something told me, after a girl was in.my place late in the night (we.went out to see the fireworks), do it and ask God for forgiveness. But Las Las, I am an example that it is possible le.to remain faithful even while away from your wife (this seems impossible to Nigerian men). |
Are you advising women? |
nwajesus12:Wasted semen |
nwajesus12:Unknown gunmen wipe your family. Idiot. |
Bea4rdedmeatR:They may pardon him there. He needs to be castrated. |
OloyeVIII:You lack home training. |
ufotunang:Yeah, him Don chop plenty money so he can even chuk finger into Buhari's eyes. |
Babisha10:Na wa for this kind country. Impunity everywhere. |
The whole thing is really confusing. Who actually won? The woman? Was it just q case of the right result being declared by the wrong person or, the wrong person declaring the wrong result. If the latter is the case, then the man should be deported to Biafra. |
Banky W, I advise you change party or/and aspiration if Peter Obi does not become president this year. If he comes to the polls in 2027 and if the tempo maintains this steam, I'm afraid same fate that befell you this year may come back for you. |
Mindlog:When pmb lost even after ganering 12m votes, how many votes did the winner get? |
aariwa:That tells you the power of character, especially at a time when even the corrupt crave it in a leader. |
All those directors paying him are also thieves. He knew it and that's why he succeeded in that. If the director was to be living on his salary, where would he get the money from? We know ffk is a thief, Amaechi has his story on the runway money. All the things you see ffk doing is just to be able to fix his straw on a corner of the nation's treasury and continue sucking. Anything that will deny him and his cohorts that risks being deleted from this earth. |
Aurielfinizu:I agree with this 100% Can you imagine soludo hinting that he will deny those who did not vote for him developmental projects? We are really being taken for a ride in this country. |
femtex007:The way it takes ages to build roads in the southeast is purely political. by the time they are finishing one end, the first set has become bad already. I only saw good road in the 80s, my father and I used to travel along Enugu-PH every other weekend, and the trip costs barely 2 hours. For the past 20 years +, that road has not been pliable. |
