In fact, I was just about opening a thread to ask this same question when I saw this topic. I am glad I have not subscribed yet after seeing the op's post. The title of the text message says "Data Deal", not sure if this is from mtn. The issue is that if this is not coming from mtn, they(mtn) should at least know about it and should warn their customers. Or does mtn know and just pretending they don't?

I called their customer care around 5am this morning, they said I should have patience that it will be rectified... I'm still waiting for them. They are aware of the whole stuff and I'm not the first person to lodge a complaint. My other mtn line just received the same text this morning. If the stuff ain't rectified, I will keep bombarding them with calls
