Be who u r: COMON!!!! How can you let the views of STRANGERS mean so much to you??!!! We would not have even known so much if you had not come on to respond. You should have read this post and gone to talk with her about it not start posting back. It is really not necessary. Now you have discovered that your religious beliefs are a source of worry to her, I would say you should both discuss this and agree. Strangers opinions about you should not make you do deeds that will not in the long run, concern them!!! @Labake, the road is open to you now, lol, @streetwize, No probs. Not just you but whatever floats his boat jare, |

jagunlabi: lol. Jagunlabi, People will be intolerant, venomous, fanatical bigots whether xtians or not!!! Being intolernat, venomous etc doesn't have to do with religion. It has to do with the person's attitudes and actions. For me it is not justified to attribute ANYONE'S thots and actions with my beliefs. Meaning, if I choose to believe in God, it is MY decision. Nothing noone says, acts or does will change my choice. IT IS MY CHOICE!!! Noone forced it down my throat as I chose to believe. Anyone who acts intolerantly, venomuosly, and is a fanatical bigot does not RELIGION to be so! |

Was just asking were you got that stuff you confured up and tied to "rash" xtianity's leg is all. Don't make this about you ok Let it go, You are entitled to your buhaha!!! @ Be who u r, Rmbr, her original post did not refer to you as a devil or anything, she actually stated that you are perfect for her and she actually loves you. She's just worried about the future issues is all. What should matter to you is what she actually thinks not what a bunch of TOTAL STRANGERS have to say. Just relax and have a talk with her. Plus, that Labake sef, na wa o!!! People with poke nosing sha!! |

Plus, she painted you out as an ANGEL and I believe it's what she thinks that should matter to you not what a bunch of strangers say. |

@Tunnytox, Thanks for your info. Well, currently checking out the forum. Just checked out the processing times on cic and noticed it had changed. Waoh! That's a relief! Will definately be sending the application in soon. BTW, Tunnytox, are you also applying or awaiting your PR card or an agent or sumtin? |
Travel / Re: Canada federal skilled workersProgram, by Liss: 6:13pm On Apr 11, 2010 |
@Suxes, Kindly inform me about how your boss filled the Application for Residence Form, the Details of Family Members page. I understand you are expected to fill every member of your family whether accompanying you to Canada or not. Did your boss add details of his/her parents, siblings or something? I am asking cos if a single person is filling the form, is he/she expected to fill in the details of their parents and siblings? Since if you ever want to bring them over to Canada, they first go back to your form and see what you put down there intially. |

Are you suggesting I apply under the skilled worker class (PR)? Cos I don't fit under the Experienced Class since I have neither studied nor worked in Canada before. It is the waiting period that stops me from applying 4 PR which why I am thinking of the certificate studies in HR route which will enable me under the experienced class. |
Travel / Re: What 's Your Excuse For Keeping Off Your Immigration To Canada? by Liss: 5:17pm On Apr 11, 2010 |
Yes, it is as it is under the skilled Type A (Professional occupations). Am studying in University of Lagos. Dont wanna lose on both ends if u get my drift, hence, my masters in Nigeria. |

The PR one It takes forever!!! to get it. I am in the Human Resources field o! Currently doing my masters degree sef in H.R. Was thinking of getting registered as a CHRP while here so as to help increase my changes of good jobs when I get there. But I think the field is becoming saturated in Canada, not sure though. Anywayz, keeping my fingers crossed cos I have started checking out some schools that offer graduate certificate studies in HRM. |

Hotstepper: Thanks for that. Read about the Experienced class but how we both it won't be an easy thing to do except I get in as a student and work for a while. Or is there a way one can work in Canada for at least a year without having gone thru school? By work, I don't mean Live-in caregiver o! I think my best option is thru school from all I have seen and read. |

@Hotstepper, Been working for about 3 years now. Just that the period it takes to process a PR is worrisome. Saw on cic.gc dat it could take like 78 months! Been downcast since then. Will take ur advice and be more optimistic now. Just trying to get enuf money before applying maybe thru school or sumtin. Anywayz, all I am learning is gonna help me for sure. |

@ Canuck, Well said! I have been thinking about this Canada immigration thingy for years but I have never applied bcus until my chances of success are like 85%, I don't intend to apply. The rules have been specified and if I don't meet the requirements, why bother? That's my thought, anyway. For now, I read up on everything I can to aid me (on & off) when I do actually apply. So I can have great chances of making it. Plus, the money requirement is crazy! And would not want that to stop me, so for now I'm saving, investing etc so as to make over the necessary amount required . I wouldn't wanna start so low (like washing dishes and crap) so I have to make sure I have enuf money to get re-certified and get a good job. BTW, can you please provide your own experiences in Canada, like how easy it was for you (or otherwise) to settle down, get a job, ur children's schools and stuff, |
Family / Re: Funny Things Parents' Do That Makes You Chuckle! by Liss: 12:56pm On Apr 04, 2010 |
This thread has been hilarious. Been laffing my heart out!, lol I remember this period when petrol and kerosene prices had just seriously gone up and my mum was seriously complaining about it. In order to reduce her worries, I said "shebi, it is just kerosene price that has gone up not cooking gas, that she can still buy her cooking gas now without stress na" Her response: Alfa jona on bere irungbon! Meaning: The Alfa got burnt and now you are asking where's the Alfa's beard, lol, |

Hotstepper: I am glad for you. At least that's settled just in the event that you do get tired of naija. I quite agree about the corruption thingy but I bet you'ld reconsider the "do everything as regards youth service" if you were posted to states like Plateau, Gombe, Maiduguri or something. Ain't nothing wrong in safeguarding yourself o, sis. My one advise would be, feel free to serve but pls. ensure you are posted to a place were your life or limp isn't at risk, abeg. Nothing wrong in looking out for yourself if your Govt. won't do so! |

Same here o! I seriously salute her courage! NYSC Seriously? I hope you are going to "runs" it o, cos even those in Nigeria don't end up serving, they just use "leg" to get their certificates! Abeg think long and hard o! Plus, Development Studies can still be of relevance in Canada, right? I mean not everywhere is developed there too, right? I doubt I can do this o, person wey get cap no get head , I agree you should at least get your PR first before returning o |

Romance / Re: How To Beat Your Husband Or Man Without Touching Him: by Liss: 10:49pm On Mar 30, 2010 |
lol, Very funny! But really "punishing" anyone in your marriage is stupid, childish and lame! As you end up punishing everyone involved, yourself included! I find it funny when guys/girls believe or assume that they can actually do anything and get away with it, erroneously thinking that the other person will feel it more than they do. Everyone, (male/female), don't you want peace to reign in your homes? Is it only a woman dat desires peace in her home? Pls. get real. Jaidey-one: Of cos you can get it elsewhere, but then does that punish her alone? You could get diseases and unwanted pregnancies and the likes and cause more havoc than before. I tire for all this yamayama talk joo, |

sect: See the lame advice this one they give! Thank God he found it lame and didn't take your advice as they are now back together The truth was she was scared! Scared that it might repeat itself in future. She realised she is gold and should not settle for less, plus since she was not married, she could easily leave and move on! Guys and their yamayama advices, hisses! |
Romance / Re: How To Beat Your Wife Without Touching Her by Liss: 10:00pm On Mar 30, 2010 |
This real stupid! You all come and be typing garbage! I mean what happened to communication? and how does she punish you (the man) when you do something wrong? I pity all you men who take to this advice o! What works in that relationship/marriage might not work in yours o. For instance, I love spending time on my own, so if you take the children out without me, you would be giving me a break! And if I see that this is the only way to get you to spend time with the children, trust me, I will ensure you keep it up and pretend it bothers me! All in all, just remember that what is good for the goose is also good for the gander, Nothing is ever this clearcut! |
