Nice one. Must they put their picture on everything ? One of our problem in this country is people let politicians feel like they are doing them favour or like the resources used in providing things for the masses is from their salary ( pocket ). Let these people know they are there to serve and stop hailing them. All they do is their responsibility

The problem is that this isn't anywhere near the solution to our economic woes as we speak ...I wonder why govt isn't thinking.

AGRICULTURE: a state of emergency should be declared on food security.massive development should be going on right now in rural areas to keep the poor farmers at home and stop the excessive rural urban migration.people are deserting farms and heading to cities in search of basic living.

Empower these rural communities by ensuring basic amenities are available,make them liveable, health care/health insurance,free education for their wards,consumer credit schemes for basic needs,make farming a decent and viable job option.

Security is also very key.

Every ward should have at least 5 tractors and accompanying equipments like planters,harvesters,weeders etc then cluster processing points for their output depending what they produce....raw unprocessed crops should not be allowed to leave these areas unless processed.Thus would add immense value to this communities and engender a bottom up development dynamics that can lead to sustainable economic growth over time.

It's not a crime if he could reverse it back to default for now. The blunder he made was to float the currency the same time with the fuel subsidy removal. And here comes the removal of the same subsidy on electricity or why is he contemplating on removing stamp duty on foods and drugs for six months? He already know he made a mistake but his ego is killing him. I just don't understand you people seriously...is it normal for the subsidy to be removed at the expense of the common Man? Or you don't know that hunger kills faster than anything??

Are you saying it's better to keep subsidising the dollar and also keep doing same for PMS....if this govt had continued that route,we would have been neck deep in debt by now and the economy would have been crippled.

Do you know how much of the revenue of govt is going into debt servicing....what govt is doing now is borrowing to stabilise the naira by pumping the dollar into the market till it reaches equilibrium. This isn't so bad if well managed as against borrowing to defend the naira so you can get cheap dollars which will keep growing in demand.

I will tell you this that the reason for the inflation we are seeing is the high cost of food in the country.....off food prices can go down,prices of other things would also deflate...we are heading into a major food crises soon,there is basically not enough food in this country and this is what really affects the common man and not dollar or fuel subsidy.

this floating of a thing comes with a huge responsibility and loss for the country's economy that is struggling because you know how this president have been borrowing every now and then to intervene in the FX market which has never helped the currency in the long run still.You would agree with me it's a good order but in an order that is not in anyway helpful to a common man on the street then it's purpose have been defeated.

There's no way you can correct the lacuna in the hitherto dysfunctional Forex market we had been used to without leaving a huge press on the economy.....it's basically removing subsidy on Forex which the rich has been enjoying,if anything the naira is only finding it's real value as against the artificial value we have been seeing in the past.

I would rather that money goes right to the LG'S and wards directly.....the problem with all this interventions is that the monies don't get to the real farmers and the little that does don't get monitored or managed effectively.

The farmers in each ward knows themselves and know what they want,no need to give physical cash,just provide seedlings and inputs for every land owner ready to farm then provide machineries like tractors,water,harvesters and processors that's all also create a good welfare package for farmers like health insurance,free education and vocational skills for their wards and consumer loans tied to their output....you would see people living bank jobs in the cities to go into agric.
