OYO: APC is already dealing with three strong political tendencies — Adelabu, Teslim Folarin and the party’s candidate structure. Meanwhile, Governor Makinde is projecting the APM, adding another dimension to the contest. Then comes Senator Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi, the force behind SWAGA and a political institution in his own right, whose grievances over how his structure has been treated cannot simply be ignored. With all these interests, how can a divided house comfortably confront a sitting opposition governor determined to produce his successor?



EKITI: The wounds from the last primaries remain largely unhealed. Strong internal grievances persist, with no convincing reconciliation mechanism capable of bringing the different camps together. The danger is allowing yesterday’s primary battles to become tomorrow’s electoral losses.



OGUN: Leadership interests and the perception of political monopoly continue to create internal divisions. APC needs unity, not competing power centres.



LAGOS: The choice of a preferred governorship candidate over other political gladiators, without sufficient consultation with all stakeholders, has the potential to create another fault line. Lagos may be APC’s strongest political fortress, but even fortresses require careful management.



OSUN: The warning here is already loud. The opposition has taken the state, and APC’s presidential performance there has previously exposed the party’s vulnerability. Add an aggrieved Iyiola Omisore and his political structure to the equation, and the situation deserves serious attention.

States civil servants are now getting their salaries and pensions which wasn't so before tinubu came, this ensured households got their income as at when due despite increment in minimum wage and even some states pay above the fg threshold but you are so unproductive that you attracted poverty into your life.

Floating of Naira was a flawless move. Even petrol subsidy removal wasnt as bad it seems if not for the wastage that accompanied the saved funds.

It made no sense to peg Naira value and in so trying to maintain stability & predictability, unwittingly subsidize dollar/fx.

A dollar that could be going for N1,000 was going for around 40% of that. It meant govt had to pay the remaining 60%. Imaging paying over half the cost of toothpick from China, tomato from Spain/Italy or Chocolate from Belgium. These are all things that could be produced locally. Yet we preferred to give Naira a false value and then start importing things that can be easily produced locally to help employ hands and grow the economy. It very a demonic approach to governance.
More demonic is the idea of maintaining subsidy for religion and embarking on luxury.

Pls ask them why despite all those boom years they claimed had more dollar figures, why weren't states able to pay salaries and kept borrowing and now they are claiming states have less usd,they are able to pay salaries and reduce debts and meet their obligations.......how they refuse to see the stupidity in their argument still surprises me.

This all water under the bridge now. Obi voluntarily left the coalition. He was the one who kept saying he MUST be on the ballot as a presidential candidate. He started the OK movement the second Kwankwaso joined the coalition while still in the coalition. Let him contest and try his best. While a coalition would have been an easier route to defeat Tinubu, a three-horse race also has its advantages. It's a no-brainer that this will be Atiku’s last shot whether he wins or loses. Obi should have negotiated on behalf of his region instead of prioritising himself. Tinubu did the same in 2015 and got rewarded with 5.6m Northern votes as payback at a time when Obi defeated him in the South.

P.S: Out of 108 members in the APC campaign council, only 7 are from the Southeast. Yet, Obidients kept joining APC handles in parroting that its the turn of the South. Betta Edu is part of that 7 from the Southeast. Unlike Gbajabiamila that was fingered multiple times, she isn't good enough for public service but is good enough to campaign for Tinubu's re-election.
